there will be a new signature federer racquet coming out either by us open time..or january. it will be lighter and a little bigger head. also the 6.1's will have a new cosmetic. my friend works with wilson and they are coming not a rumor.

Both would be cool. Let's hope the 6.1 get back near the PSC6.1 95 PJ...that would be a nice throw back.

However I think we are probably closer to the whole racquet being holographic and it will blind player when they try to play with it on sunny days.

wilson seems to be right on time. every few years they come out with a "new" racquet for federer. However, this time, I have heard thru the grape give that it may be a 93 or 95. Would be awesome if it is a box beam.

I guess it's also possible that Wilson will come out with a new racquet for retail with Federer's signature on it that is 93 or 95 sq. in. but that Federer will continue to use his 90 but with the paintjob of the new retail 93 or 95 racquet. It's not like he hasn't done this before. He used to use a PS 6.0 85 but with the paintjob of a HPS 6.0 95 Tour on it, and then he switched to a Tour 90 but with the same HPS 6.0 95 Tour paintjob.

He didn't play with the same racquet his whole career. He played with the PS 85 at the begining, wasn't getting results so he changed to a 90 sq in and improved big time. Fast forward to 2011, he doesn't get results anymore so it makes sense to try a 95 sq in. I mean the change worked before so why not try it again.

Oh, and Federer wasn't getting the results when he used a PS 6.0 85 because he was young and inexperienced and was a mental basket case, not because of the size of his racquet. I mean, how many people have beaten Sampras at Wimbledon with bigger racquets? Did Djokovic also start winning more this year than in the past because of the size of his racquet? :???:

i started this am im saying its true like it or not..when it comes out ill bump this thread again.
he was supposed to use a wilson ROK which was a 93 but i was told he will go bigger...maybe 95 but i would assumer 93. if he does id assume its gunna be the same racquet layup/construction it is now just with a larger head.
nadal and djoko play larger heads fed could use this for some more spin and lower the shanks from the loss of a step or 2. he doesnt have to win 10 more slams just have another chance of getting into more finals.

I wouldn't count on it. Both the PS 6.0 85 and PS 6.0 95 are box-beam Wilsons similar to the BLX90 but the sweetspot on the 95 is no bigger than the sweetspot on the 85. :shock:

None really. But the 95 does have a bigger head so you will hit the ball somewhere on the strings, but it's kind of dead feeling and not part of the sweetspot.

I'm pretty sure their are limits as to how big your racket can be on the world tour.

Nadal's is already 100 sq inches, which I find to be way too big imho.

this was not my experience with the 95.. I felt it had a somewhat larger sweetspot than the Nsix-one tour 90 i was comparing it to at the time. It wasn't big, but it was bigger than the 90's from what I could tell.

From the pictures, the head size does look slightly bigger than his usual racket; perhaps that was the reason why he dropped his opening set in singles in DC? That he was trying to get used to his "new" racket"
