Let it be Zverev or Medvedev.

Although, how cool would it be to have Shapo winning something after Djokovic / Nadal dominnace?
Perhaps some kids would start learning how to hit winners as opposed to wait mistakes.

Zverev is going to have to work on his game quite a bit and that's before fixing his obvious mental issues. I think Medvedev has a champion's mentality but I see him peaking as a M1000 winner, not a Grand Slam winner. Perhaps he'll prove me wrong on that.

El Shapo although left handed probably reminds me most of RF, but clearly gone off the radar this year, hopefully he can get back progressing

well, all the players not named Federer, Djokovic, Nadal need to work on their game to win a slam.
which includes as well mental part.

The players on my wish list are Thiem, Coric, De Minaur, Sasha Zverev, Shapovalov, Nishikori and Tsitsipas, but I think we still have a few more years of Djokovic and Nadal winning Grand Slams to go - the past 11 have gone to big 3 players, that streak has to snap at some point in time!

Thiem and Tsitsipas are most likely! Thiem will win his first USO and RG titles as early as probably 2021, whilst Tsitsipas will get his hands on AO/USO as well at some point! (don't see him doing any damage on either clay or grass, while Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are all playing, unless at least two of them retire...) probably either at the beginning of 2022 at AO or at the end of 2021 at USO!...

Thiem and Tsitsipas both! Thiem will probably snatch a couple while big-3 are still playing, while Tsitsipas will win one while big-3 are still playing and when all 3 retire he will starting winning multiple more of them, leaving Thiem far behind, then Auger-Alliasime and De Minaur will follow with occasional Medvedev thrown into the mix! After that - next more successful and talented gen will appear on tour highjacking all their grand slam titles! the so called "next-gen" is just transitional gen between big-3 era and the "new era" of ATGs, that will span probably roughly 4-5 years since at least 2 of the 3 members of big-3 retire! Just like late 90's - early 00's period before Federer stepped onto the scene and since Sampras was suffering his decline!

Means nothing for one's mental toughness! (that is where all the major problems are! Not how hard he hits or how fast he runs! Its all in the head! And Zverev's head is currently somewhere in the cloudls!)...A bunch of masters 1000 vicotories also means next to nothing...there was Ukrainian player, who last name was Medvedev, who played back in 90's, he i believe won as many masters tournaments as Zverev did now, yet he choked the hell out of that 1999 RG final and was never seen ever since again! LOL

Yeah, he did win 3 masters and the Masters Cup.

However, he rarely takes the ball down the line and his forehand is loopy.

I watched him lose to Coric at the USO 2 yrs ago and his refusal to go down the line or hit the ball slightly flatter was the reason he lost. Yeah, he's improved since then, but I don't think he's improved enough to win something big - like a Slam - which is what this topic is about

Not to mention the mental issues he's having - I don't see him being the chosen one as people have predicted. I think Felix and Tsitsipas will have better careers at the end of all of their runs.

Doesn't really matter how many YECs and Masters he keeps winning, until he makes sufficient progress at grand slams and reaches AT VERY LEAST semi-finals first! LOL THEN all the talks about that extra masters and YEC titles will be relevant and ONLY then!...

I agree with the consensus that it'll be Thiem or Tsitsipas. If I have to pick one between them, I pick Tsitsipas.

It sounds like nobody really thinks a young player will come along that will be too difficult for the big three to consistently beat, but some time perhaps someone will sneak in and win a big tournament, perhaps after a couple of the big three are retired.

Thiem has the best chances out of the current zero slam winners. He reaches the later stages of slams on a consistent basis even though it was all at the same slam. If Rafa gets injured or faces an upset Thiem would actually be the favorite at the French. Other than that I think guys like Wawrinka or Cilic still have better chances than generation useless. A special big lol at people actually believing in Zverev.
