Kyrgios understands now that lost gen and next gen have failed to suppress the Ralph-Nolan threat to Fed's slam count.

As a self professed Fred fan, Nick is going to pull out all the stops to try and stop Ralph and Nolan from getting more slams to surpass Fred.

Unfortunately for the Fed fans, I can win games off him on clay...

Did official who took a photo with players at the start kiss Kyrgios on the cheek? Disturbing. Also, what a ****** for asking the crowd where they want him to serve. No respect for the opponent.

100% agree with the sentiment that Nick is saving tennis.

Under normal circumstances it was the job of the Thiems and Zverevs and the rest of nextgens to take over tennis from the old top 3 and provide fresh eyeballs and asses in seats.

They are spectacularly failing in that, so I'm afraid we have no option but settle with Kyrgios.

Beggars can't be choosers.

Saving tennis from what?
From mediocrity, from incongruity, irrelevance and relative lower interest in tennis, and (in terms of cold hard math) from a loss of income due to emptier seats and lower eyeballs behind TV screens.

Exhibit A: the Wimbledon ratings smash hit when he met Nadal at a very early round

Exhibit B: you. Here you are with your sanctimonious ass being busy preoccupied with him instead of with whoever boring ass player or players you believe we should all be preoccupied with.

Some people will hate the guy no matter what he does. The reality is, the guy has more personality than anyone on the tour and he is entertaining. There are many more people tuned in for Kyrgios-Nishioka than there would be for Zverev-Nishioka, and that is because NK is entertaining. Love him or hat him, he adds a new element to tennis that literally nobody else brings. Every thread like this is just the Djoker/Rafa fans getting pissy about him and clogging the thread.

I've watched TV tennis since the early 60s. The brand of entertainment tennis that Kyrgios is currently playing beats listening to McEnroe on court tirades. I get bummed when he tanks a match and I cuss him. But when his brain is switched on for tennis I like watching Kyrgios. But then I like watching Hsieh, Mannarino, Niculesu, Karlovic, as well as Federer, Djokovic or Nadal. Dang it, where is Santoro - oh yeah...:(

You built a lot of assumptions into that reply. Did I really warrant that vicious attack just for asking for clarification of the specifics of the original post?

Yes he is surely the saviour of tennis after defeating this murderers row of champions in such a huge event

If you had a brain and/or followed tennis you'd know that these are the exact journeymen types he normally struggles with.

Give him Nadal, Fed or Djokovic and he either wins or it's an incredibly tight match.

Bottom line it’s entertainment. Nick is amazing for tennis and my favorite player that isn’t named Roger. It’s the same thing as “purists” saying they hate touchdown celebrations. It is for the show, which is what people are paying for.

You’re exactly the kind of no nothing moron who is ruining tennis and pumping up talentless players as if they’ve accomplished something.

You think someone who’s career highlight to date is winning Acapulco, who is in the absolute prime of their career, is someone worth saying they’re ‘saving’ tennis?

Maybe save that for someone who actually wins a real tournament now and then, instead of being all ‘zomg he hit the ball between his legs! He hit that forehand really flat! He hit the ball hard! He beat a top player at a garbage event!!’

kyrgios is reminding me of vegas Agassi when he first came on the scene for first few years.. he tried but entertaining was more important than winning & crowds ate it up.. this is a step up from cranky tanking kyrgios... I'll take it !

Look at you so emotional. Its pretty funny. Do you have some personal beef with Kyrgios? Did he hook up with your gf or something?

Keep on hating all you want. He brings something different to the game. He's interesting because you never know what he's gonna do good or bad.

There are 1000 standard cookie cutter players on tour that play the same exact way, and 10,000 more ready to take their place. NK plays tons of trick shots but he also has one of the best serves in tennis and he wins matches.

If you were a TD you would want him at your tournament. He puts butts in seats and gets people watching/talking about tennis.

No one here thinks he's gonna be a multi slam champion. He's too out of control. I myself have called him a clown. Just relax and enjoy what he brings when he plays well. Or just dont watch his matches...no one is forcing you to.

Kyrgios is not a tennis player, he is a salesman, and he sells entertainment.

I can live with that.
Thank you, it seems many here haven't quite figured that out.

And for the Nick haters, why aren't you guys starting 600 threads a week about Khachanov, who is #8 in the world? He seems "nice" and bland enough for those who hate originality and talent on tour.

He is bad for tennis because he doesn’t respect the public, the rival and towards himself whereas I am great for tennis because I bend every rule in my favor, give cold fish handshakes after I loose and then chastise the match winner in my post match press conference for having talent to win grand slams but there are reasons why he does not.

Do not question my opinion or I will arrange for you to not work with me for a long time, no?

Another entertaining match from Kyrgios! Regardless of what you think about Kyrgios, he's definitely bringing more audience to tennis.

He also has tons of talent and physical agility, way above the rest. If his mind was in the right place, not sure who would stop him from winning championships. But unfortunately, he often lacks motivation and rigor. And manners.

Admit it dear TTW members! He trash talks Djokodal and you all love him for that! That has nothing to do with him being entertaining! Am i right on the money here?! Interesting...if talks the way he does about Federer, rather than Djokodal would he ge the same "appreciation" on these boards as he does now?! Please...do not fool yourselves!...All i see it as you are just having common agenda, nothing more...kind of like you all hate Djokovic for all the possible reasons, but not because he is the most dangerous man to top all Federer's records! Amirite? Its kinda you make it all up about him raging, throwing tantrums to the unsupporting crowd, being disrespectful to Maestro, Djokovic's father, Djokivic's antics, Pepe Imaz, Djokovic's celebrations, Roddick feud...did i miss anything?! Whatever the hundred reasons you have to hate him for - its all because he is a direct threat to Federer and is biggest one at that! LOL Kyrgios coming in with his disrespectful acts towards him is just an icing on the cake! Its kind of a "cool thing" to hate on Novak...kind of a trend! So you all jump on the bandwagon! Seems like it...
