Nike Air Zoom Cage 4 Release Date ?

Thanks. One last question, do you think there will be any price drop on these shoes after Christmas? I'm not sure if I should wait a little.

(I tried to private message you with this question, but it seems it's not possible)
Past season shoes and clothing will always go on sale after a few weeks from their respective release date. By SP21 (Spring 21) / AO21, the shoes from last season HO20 (Holiday/Winter 20) will go on sale as well as the other seasons from the past year.

I found 2 pairs of these at my local Ross for $32.99 each in my exact size!!!! Bought both pair. Have played in them twice and they are very supportive and comfortable.
Merry Christmas to me :)
You could’ve bought 5 or so and it would’ve been around the same price as retail. Slightly more, but close enough. Great find!

I read all the reviews that you have to go down a half size or a full size or else they are a "clown shoe". Can anybody confirm?

Agreed, I just ordered a pair and I always take a size 12 in all my Nike Vapers, but these are definitely not the same size or cut as the vapers. Going to try and return them for an 11.5

These shoes are awesome. Considering the weight, they just disappear under you at speed. The "Vapor" name is not a misnomer.
This is correct - pick it up and it feels heavy, put it on and fly around! Much better than the Cage 3s if you are old, due to substantially more cushioning. Lateral support is also improved. Doesn't get much better than this fine shoe!

Can anyone that's tried the GP Turbos and the Nike Cages 3 or 4 offer some comparison? The stores aren't open around here for me to try out the GPs but they look interesting. Do they also fit true to size or 0.5 size down like the Cage 4s?

If anything, I think most people go 1/2 size up in the GP. The way the shoe's cushioning lifts your foot up against the top of the toe box, 1/2 size up at least feels like you have a bit more room in the front of the shoe. It's not really a matter of length IMO, the GP just does not have a lot of overall volume in the toe box so 1/2 size up gave me a bit of space, even thought it still feels tight. In my experience so far, most of the fit issues fade into the background during play but I put the GP on when I get to the court and take it off immediately after because the fit is not comfortable when walking around.

Dang, maybe I won't risk it then haha. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah it's a bit of an odd fit for sure. Cushioning is outstanding but I felt like most other areas were a step back from the Zoom Zero. I'd tell anyone that the best thing to do would be to get the GP straight from Nike if you're on the fence. Then at least you have 30 (or maybe even 60 still) days to play in them and can return them if they aren't working out.

Does anybody have Vapor Cage 4 size US 10 / EUR 44? I have US 10.5 / EUR 44.5 for a couple of weeks now and they are fine, but I keep having this feeling that they are slightly too big. So I'd be grateful if somebody could measure the length of the US 10 / EUR 44 insole. I'd like to compare it to mine. If the difference is tiny, I might go for the smaller size.

For the ZVC4s, a regular size 10 would be equivalent to a size 9.5. So if you wear a size 10 in shoes, you would go for a 9.5 in the ZVC4s.

I already went half a size down, normally for Nike I wear 11, these shoes I have 10.5. I want to know the real difference between 10 and 10.5. I don't have a possibility of trying 10 on my feet, because shops are closed where I live.

Ah, I see. Honestly the difference isn’t much, like a quarter of an inch or so. I usually wear a 10.5, but went with a size 10 which fits better. Breaking them in doesn’t help when it gets all loose. Are you wearing thick socks or thin?

I'm wearing two socks and both are quite thick. I still have this odd feeling, as if I was wearing fins... and also my foot sometimes slides forward. In my previous shoes I was getting my toes jammed, now I feel like my toes are floating and have too much space:) I have ordered a thicker insole, as the original one is quite thin. Maybe this will improve my feel. I am also considering going down another half size, but I am afraid they will be too small. I'm a little obsessive about this, I cannot play comfortably if my shoes feel odd, I keep thinking about them:)

So have I understood correctly that you have ZVC4 size 10? Could you measure the insole?

Strange that it still feels odd to you even with wearing two pair of socks. I would suggest buying new/thicker insoles like you said. That may work and not make you feel like your feet are sliding. If you do have half a size down, that maybe work too but you have to consider that it will break in after many times.

Yes, I do have a size 10 in the ZVC4s. Let me get that for you when I get home!

Edit: So the insoles are 11 1/4” long.

Did anyone find these hard to break in. Changing direction hard and sliding, I was not comfortable for a while. They seem like they have gotten easier to slide in and a little less noticeable of being heavey or bulky. They seem better every hit but I have another pair brand new and I need to decide if I should keep or sell.

Yes, took me around 6-8 hours of hitting to break them in. Until then my feet were very sore and even painful

I just got my first pair of these. Glad I went a half size down for sure or they would have been way too long. So far they feel really good on my feet.

Never worn a more uncomfortable shoe. Even past the point of the initial break-in period, my feet were always in pain, not discomfort. After nearly 40 hours of them, I gave up hoping that it would go away.

I'm just wearing them around right now to help the break-in, but they still feel good. Comfortable and supported. I won't be able to get them on the courts for a bit while I let the knee recover.

They are excellent for my knees. Probably the best shoe for my knees I can remember. There are things I don't like about them but my knees never have pain.

I just tweaked my knee the other day, so I'm taking it easy for a few days to let it settle. But that's good to know.

None of my local stores carry the purple nadal zoom. So I will have to pass. Too risky paying alot for shoes online without trying them on.

Those are the ones I just got.

Go a half size down for sure. The good thing is you can exchange them are fit issues as long as you don't go out and play in them.

I got a pair of the tiger woods ones on a whim. I have tried to like them. Played a couple times. I guess I’ll mow in them.

Are the cage 4 at the end of their cycle? I discovered these pretty late but really like them and wouldn't mind grabbing a few more pairs.

I used to seriously enjoy my Vapor Cage 4’s, I like that they’re durable, but the weight is literally weighing my movement down. I can feel how heavy they are when I play. I’ve moved on to the Vapor Pros now, they extremely stable, quick and lighter all around. I didn’t think I would like playing in them as much as I do. I’m sure they won’t be as durable as the Vapor Cage, but I’m ok with that.

No, they've only been out for ~8 months. There has been speculation as to whether production has been stopped as there hasn't been a new "clay colourway" released. This may be for a number of reasons, including small uptake on a pro level with the only top ATP player I can think of who uses them being Alexei Popyrin.

actually the cage 4s came out in late 19/early 2020 so they are nearing the end of their Nike cycle. But there should be more colors forthcoming.

Has anyone who’s seen Spring ‘22 (it’s probably about that time right?) know if there is a cage 5 or something similar? 2022 will be the year so just curious if Nike will do another fall release or start in spring.

Regardless, I think the cage 4 is being phased out as no new colourways.
