They're not even bothering to do the same colors anymore:

I'm starting to feel like Nike treats the tennis line like a running joke just to see what they can get away with. If there was this big of a difference between Jordan's or even Lebron's on-court sneaks vs. the ones they sell for $200+ people would be up in arms complaining about it.

The Lunars and especially the Vapors are ancient, and somehow keep getting less accurate and further from the shoe they "are"/replicate and more and more expensive. We're all getting duped.

I like that dark Blue more anyway

Well I think I've definitely bought my last pair of Vapors. I think 4 is enough. Really excited to see the UF.

And to be fair to Nike re: the price hike for Rafa's top, they seem to have (according to that marketing piece disguised as an article) innovated the fabric once again for even better cooling. If true, may be worth the increase in price.

It is because I like Nike and their products that I'm upset that the quality diminishes and the price increases.
Why would successful athlete's stuff be more expensive? Or justified to be so? That's just how sports licensing works, that's why Jordan and LeBron and Ronaldo's gear is all expensive. That's why the end of the season's NBA/NFL/MLB "Champions" gear is always more expensive than the regular stuff. Yes, success sells, but it also encourages price hikes as well.

The past year and half I have noticed a signficant drop in Nike quality when it comes to their tennis apparel. I haven't bought any of it the past couple of years mainly because the materials are getting thinner and prices have gone up at the same time.

The older Nike apparel is good stuff but sadly they are using cheaper materials to make their line while increasing the price.

I went down to my local Nike store in Adelaide, South Australia today and saw all the gear today. The new innovative fabric is just lighter and in my opinion it is much easier to rip holes into this stuff. I doubt they would last more than 30 washes in a washing machine.

The tops are loose unlike the Rafa shirts of last year that were more fitted. The Dimitrov stuff looks nice but again the loose look at the base of the shirt cheapens it a bit.

The people at Nike said they had sold 4 shirts today so someone is willing to pay the price but I on the other hand bought 2 tennis shirts from Uniqlo as they represent better value for money

If you don't agree with their policy you can do many things, but promoting the brand is hardly the most reasonable one.

And isn't the part from your post, that I bolded, the exact opposite of what you are saying here?

Anyways, if you don't like the product or price of any product, just don't buy it.

I like the new Federer outfit. However, a complete kit with the current exchange rate will set me back about 600$ CAD (Shoes, polo, shorts, wristband, bandana + shipping + duty). Sorry Nike, I love your stuff and have been spending huge amount of $$ for years, but the yearly price increase and the 50% premium on the exchange rate is just unreasonable now. Even if they drop the prices next month, it's still a ridiculous amount of money for tennis gear.

Nike is actually investing a lot in Edmunds because of the UK market. Those could very well be made just for him but I would expect them to drop by IW the latest.

Yes. Most of the tennis players are single digits. I got down to 8 - betting they are lower. They practice and play so many hours - would be hard to keep much fat around. WTA, different story...

At least Dimitrov has some muscle so the lifeguard shirt doesn't look too ridiculous.

Those are an older color way they are not going to put their players in an old color way. They white/yellow pair technically go with the Rafa crew which only he wears. Everyone else is wearing the Challenger Crew which is green, orange, blue, or black. I think it's cool that they get PEs but we never know they may release them at some point

True. But on that note the white and black are in the catalog well through summer. So not "old" so to speak. Just neutral
