Nole fans, Wimbledon final could be Djokovic's last match of the season. How do you feel about it?

This is it guys, Djokovic's season could be over by Monday especially if he loses.

He obviously can't play the North-American swing, and there will be no Asian swing this season as well most likely. We could see him at the very end playing in Paris and Torino but if he loses the final he won't qualify for the YEC and I doubt he'll find the motivation to play only Paris then. Maybe only a couple of Davis Cup matches to help his country and that's it.

It's sad because only in the last couple of tournaments he started to find his form and build his stamina but now he has to stop and go through it all over again in 4 or 5 months which also means he won't be even close to his best at the AO. :(

He might decide to play the American swing with USO after he wins Wimbledon on Sunday.

who knows what goes on in his head. The magic pyramids or the holy water might tell him to go to the states and also win USO, especially now that Nadal is no longer a threat

For all those in the TTW thread wanting to buy Djok's frame and Head won't manufacture his frame for the masses to buy, here's your chance whilst he's travelling on tour, go and burgle his hotel/house where ever he's staying as these will be your last chance for this year.

Hope US comes to their senses but I doubt it. I’m sure we’ll see him in the fall. Would be nice to see him rested to go after tying the YEC record after some heartbreakers these last few years.

He will likely play events in Vienna, maybe even Basel, to go along with Paris Masters.

Could he enter the US unvaxxed if he crosses the border by land?

Since Wimbledon offers no ranking points, tomorrow's match has no impact on whether or not he qualifies to the YEC

I'm not sure about that special rule for GS winners.

He certainly has another five more years left in him IMO, whether or not he breaks the slam record is another question.
We will find out Sunday whether he is still unbeatable at Wimbledon, but IMO he is very, very beatable at the other 3 slams. That's if he can even play 2 of them...

He is beatable at all four, he looked beatable against Sinner for quite a while. But here's the thing, he doesn't really need to rack up slam after slam after slam anymore, he just needs to keep it close to Rafa, and at worst equal him. In five seasons ahead, he is still going to pick up the odd slam here and there.

Is this the event in London?

Sorry, that goes against my ethical sporting code... banning players for reasons that are not even in their control has dwindled this event insignificant... especially when one of those players is the #1 in the world...

Wait, what? Weren't you watching and commenting on Rafa matches?

he needs to give it his all, and then spend the rest of this year recovering and forgetting about how it started.

That may explain how subdued he looks.
He loves tennis. He has dedicated his life to excelling at his profession and cant do the day job as he exercised a personal choice. Its sickening and heartreaking and all shades of wrong. I hope he wins on Sunday. Even being a Rafa fan.

He could … gasp .. join the other professional players in doing what needs to be done to be eligible for a massive chunk of the professional season…
Why? When so many people having hear issues that are unexplained. Why play russian roulette with his health for the sake of tennis titles? The man has perspective.

Perspective lol. What he’s done in 2022 … blowing 2 slams… in one of his final good years … while locked in a neck and neck GOAT race… all because he’s scared of a vaccine that has 0.002% chance of a temporary cardiac inflammation in his age group. They’re gonna make movies about how shockingly stupid and stubborn this was.

I sure as hell don't. I say that being a Rafa fan since 2005.

He can't enter North America until he fulfills the vaccine requirement

Lots can happen yet. I know one thing that this covid bull is coming to an end soon. He might have to sit out a bit of the end of 2022 which sucks but from 2023 onwards he’ll be allowed in everywhere again. It’s just taking America longer to see common sense. Even Australia have more sense than them. That being said something could still change between now and us open. It’s a farce we still talking about this to be honest.

Australia knows hows badly they messed up in January, damaged their own tournament. Look at how all of sudden you don't need to be vaccinated....like what changed? Isn't Novak a danger to public health anymore? LOL

A lot has to happen, but if Djokovic beats Kyrgios here, then a lot of pressue on Nadal to win USO. Because Novak will be coming like a warrior on a mission to reclaim what he never lost in Melbourne.
If Djokovic wins tomorrow. He’s still winning the slam race still in my opinion. I still believe he will outlast Nadal on the tour. He just needs to keep the slam race close and he can pass him in the end. Yes, Novak will very determined to get no10 in Melbourne next year and I see him doing it.

The whole premise why they kicked him out has fallen apart. They said he’d invoke anti vax sentiment. Even though he was less of a danger than most as he was isolating and only there 2 weeks. He’d had it twice and whether you been vaccinated or not doesn’t stop you getting it.

Now the new government have scrapped the mandate so now he just needs to appeal and he will get back in next January.

Yes, this only IF he wins tomorrow. IMO, he is favorite to win, as I had predicted him winning the title anyway, but over Nadal, it is just that Kyrgios may simply play big brand hard hitting tennis and cause the upset.

If he wins though, he won't be denied for taking the slam race for too long. Rafa will have A LOT of pressure on him at USO to get back that two slam lead, should Novak win W. If Novak loses, Rafa can start to pull away with a USO win. But Novak coming back in Melbourne changes a lot of things, I think he coming all guns blazing, and will be looking for that 10th title. Legitmacy will return there.....hopefully Wimbledon next year will also allow players back in. Only RG this year has got it right, politics messing up the sport too much.

I don't feel anything in particular, though I'm glad biggest faker and 2022 vulture is out of tournament in quite embarrassing fashion.
So, whether Novak or Nick wins, it doesn't matter. When politics rush in, you can't do much about it.

The other factor is Rafa and his wife have a baby on the way. That will definitely affect Nadals tennis to home life balance. It took Federer and Djokovic a while to adapt to it. That could take a bit of the edge of Rafa initially as well as him trying to stay healthy and avoid further injuries.

I feel once all vaccine mandates lifted there’s less obstacles in novaks way whereas Rafa is more injury prone with more wear and tear and family life to adapt to.

It was just a sad ordeal. They only wanted to make an example out of Novak for their own political gains. Funny how we had another female tennis player, come in and play events, and she was not vaccinated, then all of a sudden she is thrown out. And how many people did Novak infect and kill in AO 2021, when the virus was running rampant everywhere? Now he was a menace to society? LOL Even the public saw through the nonsense, voted them out, and we see some sanity come back. Tournaments need legitmacy, not clouds of controversy hanging over them....players should only be banned if they were caught doping or match fixing. If countries cannot host international tennis players, stop host international tennis events.
