Either Roddick Wimbledon 2009 or Del Potro 2009 with an honourable mention for Stan this year, also am quite surprised that Kei and Cilic didn't make that list...

Soderling on clay and Roddick on grass.

Indoors goings to Nalbandian and HC is a toss up. This is just post 2006, otherwise Roddick would lead on grass and HC.

That Madrid draw is just scary...........

When Tsonga is playing at his absolute best, he is right up at the top of people who look unbeatable to me. Consistently bombing down 135 mph serves, crushing his forehand and even his backhand. Not to mention his great hands at the net. The opponent is utterly at his mercy when he plays at his highest level (Yes, this goes for others also). Definitely one of the most devastating and aggresive players at his peak form. I just had to laugh at how the opponent was at his mercy when he plays like that. Hardly EVER happens though.....:(

For one match on HC I think Tsonga AO SF 2008 could be the best of the lot - though Gonzo AO SF 2007 is up there too.

Yeah... you sometimes see him like this for a period (or periods) of time throughout a match. As you do with most players I guess....

I'm more inclined to say Roddick Wimbledon 2004. I feel like his level was higher in that match to be honest, as he pushed around peak Federer for a good portion of that match. 09 Federer was no slouch either, but he didn't even really have a baseline game for that entire match and wasn't as formidable as his 04 counterpart.

But in 2009 Roddick played incredible during the whole tournament, he had like 80% first serve in most of the matches. His draw included Berdych, Hewitt, Murray and Federer.

Roddick shouldn't be grouped with those guys anyway - he's much closer to Murray than to them.

Weak draw and a weak performance in the final.
His road to the final was uneventful too. He made the final due to the absence of Federer in the SF and I strongly believe if he faced Federer in the SF instead of Tsonga, Federer would have yet another finalist platter to his name at Roland Garros. It shouldn't have even been mentioned.

The most obvious picks are Nalbandian, Roddick and perhaps Davydenko. Not someone like Ferrer.

It has to be Cilic at the US Open this year. Straight sets demolitions on Berdytch, Federer and Nishikori in 1/4, semi then final. It's rare for players to win those rounds all in straight sets.

Tsonga Toronto 2014 deserves a mention.

He went through Chardy, Dimitrov, Murray, Djokovic and Federer. That's no walk in the park.

Tsonga looked scary against Nadal in Australia that year. But overall it has to go to Del Potro's USO performance, that deadly forehand won him that tournament.

Roddick. (Wimbledon 09)
Del Potro (USO 09)
Stan (AO 14)
Nalbandian (Madrid and Paris)
Tsonga (AO 08 )

How did no one else choose this? He was going to beat Nadal 100% healthy or not. That first set was just scary - he just couldn't miss. Never seen Rafa that rattled.

It is when they are all gassed/are Berdych.. Way too overrated.

I'd say its between CIlic 2014 (USO), Wawrinka 2014(AO) and Delpo 2009 (USO) for slams.

However the sickest one I have seen didnt happen in Slams, It was Nalby in madrid/paris 2007.. simply unstoppable, he played in a way that you couldnt find a way to bother him... he'd find a way to anhilite you anyways, quite different from guys like Tsonga who looked deadly only if they would be allowed to impose their rules, otherwise they'd look average or even clueless at times..

Ferrer peak was in 2012 probably the Davis cup tie against Czech republic when he crushed Stepanek and Berdych 6 sets to love (on a fast indoor court in Czech republic). Unbelievable tennis.
Unfortunately useless since we know how Almagro screwed up vs Stepanek in the deciding match.

Ferrer peak was in WTF 2007, of course federer as usual didnt let him feel comfortable on court... and Ferrer lost the final.

If they're all gassed then Cilic would have been gassed as well?...Seems we have to look at first round matches when everyone's fresh.
Federer just got through a marathon match against Monfils. Nishikori also had a fairly close hardfought battle against Djokovic. Cilic had a mentally weak Berdych who couldn't strike a clean ball if he tried during their match.

He wasn't "gassed". His level just doesn't justify being mentioned in this thread. It's bordering on ridiculous.
