Novak put on pressure, Andy Murray usually involved

Novak is receiving great amounts of attacks, especially in last 2 years. It is sad that his "friend" Andy Murray is usually part of it with British press behind his back. These are just some recent that I could think of:

  • In Australian Open 2015 Novak was accused for faking injury against Murray. Murray said he was distracted by Novak and that was reason why he lost. British journalist Carrie Dunn wrote text for Eurosport "Shame on Djokovic for his injury antics"
  • In French Open Novak was accused by British press that he was faking injury against Murray in 3rd set, again
  • In Wimbledon crowd was openly against Novak, elderly bigwigs crossing their fingers for Federer was sight rarely to be seen before
  • In US Open drunk and hostile crowd was antagonistic more than crowds at DC matches in South America
  • In Australian Open 2016 Novak was misspelled, his farewell speech to Lleyton was cut off, rumors started spreading about Novak fixing matches and he was constantly asked about that in presses by you know who
  • Day before Indian Wells, Novak was accused by British Daily Mail for having an affair. Turned out that he was seen with Deepika Padukone - Bollywood actress, Jelena's friend
  • After Indian Wells Novak was accused for sexism when he was commenting Raymond Moore. Not surprisingly, Andy Murray was the first to comment and attack Novak. Carrie Dunn and other British journalists wrote several articles badmouthing Djokovic
  • After his match against Nadal, Murray was constantly complaining about Rafa violating time rule for serve and had big disputes with umpire even throwing balls at his direction. After all that, focal point is Murray's statement about players who were playing 5 set matches and after that another 6 hour match were they weren't tired.

After every Murray's outrage in press, Novak has to talk to him in private and settle things up. This is third time. I wonder how long will this freaky behavior from Murray last, and what will be next about Djokovic before French Open.

I think you're giving Murray too much credit for the general dislike for Novak. He is just not a very popular fellow in the Anglo-Saxon world. Accept it already.

Murrays running out of topics, yes?

I suggest next time he should complain that Novak trashed his fancy hotel in Scotland when he was staying over for the weekend, had another affair with one of his kitchen staff, and that he dared to mix Murrays favourite single malt with coke because he complained "it tasted like cat pee. I would rather drink grappa".

Then i would suggest insinuating that Novaks mother was an Albanian gypsy. That should do it.

I'll accept it the minute Anglo-Saxon world accepts Novak. After all they are more progressive and more open minded than Eastern Europeans.

Many of the tennis-oriented people I know really admire the guy - I don't think he's as unpopular over here as some would have you believe. :)

It's no secret the reason for all of these accusations is "the general dislike for Novak". One can/should expect such mind games from the British press.

Really sad to see Murray paving the way, tho.

That is what immediately jumped out to me as well. Imagine if Djokovic was the one throwing the ball at the umpire. There would immediately be articles on Djokovic's lack of class, respect for the umpire, how that kind of behaviour is beneath a player of Djokovic's stature.

Here is the latest article of the anti-Novak variety - https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ng-but-he-sounds-eerily-like-lance-armstrong/

The Anglo-Saxon media really dislikes the guy. That makes his victories even sweeter, since he is mostly winning in "enemy territory".

You can always argue all of them dopes or not but no one in my book put it in to your eyes as much as Djokovic. He sudden rise to the top 2011 still remins the one the most fishy stuff the game as ever seen, especially when you consider he is targeting RETİREMENT SLAM at that time.

The British press constructed, and still constructs, Serbia as a part of the Orthodox realm dominated by Russia and hence the enemy of the West.

This is not exactly either a new or absurd idea as many historians depict the borders of Europe proper as ending with the Orthodox world.

I don't think Djokovic is going to get good press anytime soon especially with the depiction of the drug issue as a Djokovic versus Murray issue.

I'll accept it the minute Anglo-Saxon world accepts Novak. After all they are more progressive and more open minded than Eastern Europeans.

You mean you're willing to accept that the Anglo-Saxon world does not like Novak the moment said Anglo-Saxon world likes Novak?
It isn't about Novak. Novak just took place for someone they would rather see being No.1.

That's what happens to anyone who isn't a fan of a #1.

I doubt you would have been particularly pleased seeing Rafa as #1 back in 2013.

Nothing wrong with it--it just so happens that Djokovic has fewer fans than most other players who have won as much as he has.

I don't see why other people must "accept" Novak in the matter you seem to be suggesting (which seems to be more along the lines of liking Djokovic). He's quite clearly the #1 and that was never really in dispute, especially in the last two years or so.

When it comes to doping accusations, I don't think Djokovic fans have much to base their complaints on, especially when only about a month or two ago, I was told by a certain Djokovic fan that it's clear that Djokovic doesn't dope because no-one has accused Djokovic of doping, while Nadal is 100% doping because everyone and their mother has accused him of doping.

You are forgetting also that he was accused of coaching at Wimbledon 2015 LOL, http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/jun/28/novak-djokovic-cheat-wimbledon-boris-becker, yelling at the ball girl Wimbledon 2015, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-got-embroiled-racism-row-court-outburst.html he was first to be accused of match fixing the Santoro match 2007 http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/jan/18/novak-djokovic-match-fixing-tennis-australian-open, http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/jan/20/novak-djokovic-blasts-claims-match-2007 and i lost count how many times he was accused of taking doping. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...-novak-djokovic-drugs-tennis?CMP=share_btn_tw Basically if there is some controversy in tennis blame Novak for it. :D
For some reason Guardian and Daily Mail are the ones who are leading the Novak Djokovic crusade. But i'm with Russeljones with this one. Andy Murray is butthurt, he can say whatever he wants, check his answer to Rochus doping allegations from january 2013 for example. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2013/jan/17/andy-murray-defends-doping-allegations?CMP=share_btn_tw He was singing different song back then. Hypocrite much Andy!?
But problem is the anglo saxon media here, not Andy. The guys like Kevin Mitchell for example. They simply don't like Djokovic, he is winning too much for they liking, he is blocking Rogie and Andy, they cannot write fairy tales about their heroes FGS, who wants to read today stories about the second best, and he is coming from effing Serbia after all...

Softer approach to Greeks? You can't be serious! Although Baghdatis gets good press, but he is actually Cypriot and that makes a big difference. Plus they're in the EU.

The fact is that although orthodox, the Greeks were integreted into the pan-European system already in the nineteenth century and Cyprus was occupied by the British.

Russia is a great European power and always considered differently in the rest of Europe.

Is your major politics? From your prospective, how do you explain seemingly softer approach toward Bulgarians and Greeks than toward Serbs?

Spot on. Djokovic is a fairy tale crusher. You expect Swiss to be cool, perfect and invincible. And what do you get? A Serb exposing imperfections. Seiko beats Rolex, Uniqlo beats Nike. Is this proper? No. World is not supposed to be like that. Federer should beat Djokovic and Moet should crush Slivovitz.

I wasn't pleased with Rafa being No.1. If I would, then I would bee his fan, not Novak's.
But there are things that I wouldn't do as fan who doesn't like who is No.1 currently. I wouldn't make things up or show how desperate I am because my wishes aren't fulfilled.

So far, it seems what you mean by "accept" is "like", so what you're essentially promising (ie that you'll accept that he's not popular the minute he becomes popular) doesn't quite make sense.

As for people making stuff up about Novak, well, maybe you should have a secondment over at the Nadal camp to build up some sort of immunity. By immunity, I actually mean +n% resistance.

If Novak played for UK, it would be different, although, as Murray knows too well, he would be British when he wins and Serb when he loses. I still vividly remember when Ben Johnson become Jamaican overnight. Before that he was Canadian and nobody commented on his background.

No, I didn't say - like, I said accept. That means I don't buy this horse **** Russel is trying to put on table. So it's no longer just the evil fedal conspiracy but the vile Murray Anglo-Saxon complot as well.

They're all out to get ya.

Unbelievable:confused:
A Norwegyan politician Thorvald Stoltenberg (father of the current NATO secretary) who was involved in range of capacities in Balkan issues in nineties said few years ago something along following lines "Nobody told us what we should say. However, we all knew that if we say anything positive, or even neutral, about Serbs, our diplomatic careers would be finished".

Whenever I see one of these threads painting Djokovic as this victim of a mass media conspiracy (as if the media would waste time trying to discredit someone as unimportant (in the bigger picture) as Djokovic), it makes me think of the 00:30 mark in this South Park skit:

Someone needs to create a "why won't everybody leave Novak alone. Just leave him alone!"-meme a la:

Public is accepting of a minority Asian like Nishikori. Asians were hitherto not known much in this sport, except for the occasional player here and there.

Novak fans need to dig deeper as to why he is not liked even though he gets respect. May be something to do with playing style ?

What is your problem with Donald Trump? He will earn his candidacy in honest democratic process. If he represent views of most Americans he should be the President. This is democracy.

Yes, it's playing style that makes people make up stories about fixing matches and doping.
