Other 11.3 to 11.8 ounce Racquets I Should Consider?

After my current group of demos ( Pure Drive, Pure Drive Roddick, AeroPro Drive GT, Xi98 ), I've narrowed down what I'm looking for in a new racquet (it won't have the Babolat name on it).

Basically the specs would be close to: 11.3 to 11.8 ounces, 315 to 330 swingweight, 4 or more points headlight

It would be more powerful than my 200 Tour/LM Radical Midplus for baseline bashing and big first serves, solid feel, excellent spin, spot on control, better than average touch, and good maneuverability (but not at the expense of a solid feel)

Here is what I got on my possible demo list:
- Donnay ProOne 16x19
- Dunlop Biomimetic 400 Tour
- Head YouTek IG Radical Pro
- Volkl Organix 8 (315)
- Wilson BLX Juice 100
- Yonex VCore 95D
- Yonex VCore 98D

I've already tried the Dunlop Biomimetic 200G (little sluggish, slightly underpowered) and am currently trying the Yonex Ezone Xi98 (slightly underpower, lack of spin with demo string) or they would be on that list. 3 in bold are one's I'm pretty sure I'm going to demo.

What other racquets do you think I should take a closer look at?

Thanks.

TB,
I suggest trying the Juice over the IG Radical Pro.
You also should consider the new IG Prestige Pro.
If you can swing the Xi 98, you can swing the IGPP.

I agree with A_Instead. The Prestige Pro is a very solid stick. Great control and enough pop to put the ball away. It also serves exceptionally well. In my opinion a far superior stick the the IG Radical Pro.

I wasn't a fan of the Juice either. Too light and hollow feeling. Lot's of pop but less control.

While I think the IG Prestige Pro is a great stick it does not have more power than the 200 Tour, LM Radical, 200G, or Xi 98 as per the OP's requirement.

BBB - from your demo list the 95D would also fall short on the power requirement side. I'd demo the three you have bolded plus the PST, if you haven't hit with one before. I know it is a Babolat, but it has most of the characteristics you seek and you could always use the matching service to get one with a lower SW and maybe lighter weight.

TB,
You also should consider the new IG Prestige Pro.

I would prefer to stay away from something that heavy...trying to work my way down to lighter racquets with more power.

I tried the Youtek Prestige Pro and found that the grip was a bit too short for my 2 hander and the string pattern wasn't as open as the 16x19 would lead you to believe. I put up a post asking if the IG Prestige Pro had the same two 'problems' and the consensus was that it did.

p.s. sorry as for the 400 Tour, I have one of those also. It does have more power than the 200G, a wider and longer header and decent spin. If you hit high on the string bed then like me you are going to need at least one strip of lead tape (about 2g) from 11 though 12 to 1, as this improves that dead spot and jarring feel significantly.

The string pattern is the same as is the handle, but the grip on the handle is pushed that bit further toward the yoke. You'll find the same with the rad pro.

The grip on the IG Rad Pro is longer than that on the Prestige. From memory it was about half an inch. I got a rude shock when I tried to swap my TK82S Speed pallet from the Prestige to the Rad.

if you can adapt to an extended frame, the ProKennex Kinetic Pro 7G is a beast of a racquet. i would also bold the vcore 95d as well if i were you. :D

If my memory serves me correctly, you have been searching for racquets in this weight range for the better part of a decade. This leads me to believe that finding the "perfect racquet" is truly a never ending quest... ;)

May I suggest the Prince Rebel 98? This seems to be very popular with players who want a players frame with some power and comfort.

That's a long time! I'd rather lead up a frame that comes close and work on my game. Holy grail doesn't exist

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I appreciate everyone's help in looking at other 11.3-11.8 ounce racquets.

I decided to demo: Dunlop 400 Tour, Donnay Pro One, Yonex Ezone Xi98, and Head YT IG Radical Pro

That gives me racquets right there in that zone: 11.4, 11.5, 11.5, 11.6 ounces.

Looking forward to comparing them to the four racquets I currently carry with me to matches - 200 Tour, Ozone Tour, LM Radical Mid+, and Pure Drive Cortex.
