Outbursts by players!!

There are two ocassions that I remember seeing A.ROD angry during matches. The first was at wimbledon last yr he yelled: "Comitt to your shots"!! in a yank accent

The second was against Tommy haas at the olympics when he heard a mobile ring during hes serve and he yelled : "Turn it off or ill break it".

Also does anyone remember Rusedski outburst against A.rod at wimbledon last yr. Someone from the crowd called "out" during a rally and this put greg off and he subsequently got broken in the 4th set. He then started argueing with the umpire saying:

"Why didnt you replay the point!!. One w*nker calls out from the crowd and you let it happen. Well done you, well f*cking done!.

Also do you guys remember Jeff Tarango that headcase being defaulted at wimbledon 1995, after a dispute with an umpire.

Lleyton Hewitt also landed himself in deep water due to hes comments against James Blake at the US OPEN. Referring to the black line judge he shouted to the umpire about a foot-fault: "Look at him. Look at him and you tell me what the similarity is. Just get him off the court."

Personally although James gave hewitt the benefit of the doubt, hes comments were definitely racially motivated. Hes ass should have been fined heavy.

feel free to comment or post other violations by player

Capriati at the AO final in '02. When she, if I remember correctly, was mad about a call and started arguing with the umpire, all I remember was "Well call the f*cking referee".

Too funny Grimjack,
Yeah I think Wilander once made a frown after hitting a bad shot.
Did you know that Wilander never received even a warning in his whole career??

I remember one time Borg shook his head.

I'll pay that one.

McEnroe being defaulted in the 1990 Australian Open is pretty entertaining to watch.

I was watching my favorite doubles team Nestors/Knowles. There was a bad call against N/K and Knowles went berzerk. He screamed at the chair, "That's f'ing b/s!!!!!" The crowd went silent, the commentators had to apologize, but man was it hilarious!

Who said doubles is boring???

Phillipoussis at Wimbie 04......"Thats 3 f_cking times. 3 f_cking times!"

It was a reference to 3 bad calls (or supoosed bad calls) during a tiebreak. He lost.

Today's players are so tame compared to the '80s & '70s. Just for starters:
'84 Davis Cup Final: Connors to chair umpire:
"Kiss me before you f--- me like that."
'91 US Open:a mellower Connors to umpire:
"At least kiss me before you do me like that."
Amount of times Connors simulated masturbation with racquet:too many times to count.
McEnroe to tournament referee at '90 Australian Open:
"Just go f--- your mother."
And then there's Ilie Nastase. Don't know where to start. For everyone here who seem so apalled by Roddick's minor outbursts, watching (& hearing) a Nastase outburst would probably traumatize you for life.

I remember at Indian Wells a few years ago, Federer was playing Malisse. This was before Federer was Federer, of course.

They both were hitting some amazing winners, when they weren't mishitting shots out of the stadium.

And at one point, Fed turned around, and yelled "This is f-ing boring."

And he yelled the same thing a bit later.

Only he didn't say f-ing.

And he was right. It was.

That makes absolutely no sense at all. Care to explain why Federer yelled that out when they were both hitting amazing winners? Was he being sarcastic? Was he angry? Was he being an ass? Or was he actually bored, even though they were both evenly matched?

You had to be there. They were evenly matched in terms of their both hitting amazing shots and mishits at the same pace. They were going no where fast.

Just a sec and I'll retrieve the score. I cannot even remember who won. But it was boring, because it was just what I said -- great shotmaking and mishits going everywhere. . . .

Fed did win, but the score shows how close it was, and there were many deuces in there, IW 2002 (R64):

Fed def. Malisse: 6 7 7 6 6 3

I remember it was on an outer court, late at night, and neither player was happy. But the only reason I remember it was because of Federer's comments. They surprised me even at the time.

And as I said, they weren't necessarily inappropriate.

But he did use the F word at least twice.

I'm not judging these guys. I think Fed was right in sentiment (although he probably should have said it in German), but if others' outburts are going to be judged, so should this one -- even if it was on an outer court in Indian Wells where very few could see.
