Pacific Polys

String Gurus,
Anyone out there have experience with Pacific's line of polys? I haven't heard a peep on this board about them and a search turns up threads from years ago. I've been relentlessly experimenting with string over the past few months and want to know if Poly Force Original and Pacific Poly Force Pro are worth a spin.

Thanks,
SpinDr.

I have them all. Haven't strung up spin6 yet, but it is a textured poly like tour bite.

Xcite is their flagship poly and it plays like ALU soft with great tension maintenance.

Poly force original is a solid string with good tension maintenance as well.

I really like poly force soft which is one discontinued i believe.

Pacific XForce/$15.95 = Luxilon ALU/$17.95

IME the XForce seemed to retain tension better and lasted longer.

Pacific Poly Force Original/$12.95 = Luxilon Timo/$14.95

The Pacific was distinctly more comfortable on the arm than the Timo, but they both have great control and spin potential.

I used the X-Force for a while a few years ago and really liked them. Pretty firm but not too harsh on the arm I thought and the orange colour looks very cool. I came back to Oz and they were hard to find so I moved on. I was considering going back to them actually so I'd like to hear what anyone else has to say about them too.

X-Force is an interesting poly to hybrid in the crosses for gut. Gives control and is extremely gut friendly in preserving the gut, even the 18G version.

No durability problems. Never seen it snap.

I used it in a full bed. Was very powerful with good control. No complaints.

These days, with a sensitive shoulder, I find it a bit stiff, but probably nothing that can't be cured by lowering the tension. Because of injury concerns I personally seek out softer strings now, but if you don't have such concerns I would not hesitate to recommend it, as I do often for people I string for - even older players well into their 60's. They play well with it and feedback is positive.

I've experimented w/ many poly crosses for gut mains (Co. Focus, Lux, Kirschbaum PL2, Silverstring/CrossFire, etc.). I stumbled onto the Poly Force 'Silver' and 'Black' series last spring, and haven't looked back since.

No particular reason, other than it seems to perform the same across time and last longer. I used to restring every 2-3 weeks, but lately I've been going well over a month. I tested my two frames the other night using RacquetTune, and the unused gut/poly came in at 52, the three week old was 50. Both were strung at the same time (by me), and both came off the machine @ 54.

It is a bit stiffer than the others I used to use, but combined w/ the gut mains and a comfortable frame (X Force Pro), it evens out nicely.
