Paris Hilton sentenced to 45 days in the jail

LOS ANGELES - A judge sentenced
Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life.

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or any electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.

The judge ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

"I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," she told the judge before announced the sentence.

She was then ordered to report to women's jail in suburban Lynwood.

The heiress arrived at court 10 minutes late in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade and swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance. Her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, also came with her.

Wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks and with a black headband on, she said nothing and appeared serious.

The celebrity case brought an unusual scene to the austere courthouse south of downtown in a commercial area. As if at a red carpet event, dozens of photographers and reporters lined up at the rear entrance. Yellow police tape substituted for velvet ropes.

TV trucks were parked nearby to beam the news worldwide and a helicopter hovered overhead. Extra sheriff's deputies stood guard.

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program, are what landed the socialite back in court.

On Jan. 15, Hilton was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on Feb. 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on Jan. 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say.

I'm not a fan of Hilton nor of the non-talented crap that is running around Hollywood. You act in a manner that puts others in jeopardy and are given a break, only to laugh in the face of the system = no sympathy here.

Ah, lifestyles of the rich and brainless. She's first arrested last September, then again in January, and signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive because of her suspended license. Then she was busted again in February---her lawyer said her aides didn't tell her her license was suspended. HUH?! What a defense! Why didn't she just tell the judge today, "Uh, your Honor, I'm just a rich, brainless idiot. Can I go shopping now?" Instead she shows up late (again) for her hearing and expects nothing will happen. (Hey, remember her sidekick, the former heroin-addict, anorexic Nicole Ritchie? Last fall, she was loaded on drugs and drove up an exit ramp onto an L.A. freeway. Since she didn't KILL anybody, she only had to spend one night in jail, to sober up. When she was released, she complained that the cops listed her weight "too light".....)

The other women in jail will do everything to her though. She may become a lesbian after what she goes through.

As her sentence is only 45 days, she'll be in a cozy country club style short-term facility, not a maximum security prison. My guess is that there will be the same number of lesbians in the facility (also serving very short sentences) as you will find in an average WalMart on a Thursday night.

My amusement comes from the fact that this may cause her some difficulties with leaving the county (only a bit of paperwork) but still an inconvenience nonetheless. It will give the rest of the world a bit of a break from her abnoxious antics and well-rehearsed pose. lol.

I don't know. She'll probably be even less attracted to women after the 45 days. I hope they "will do everything to her", if there was ever a person that needed a good ass-kicking it's her.

She'll be in a cell either by herself or with one other woman, for her own protection. And she's only allowed out for about an hour a day, so there's not much chance of things happening to her.

Nice! The only thing I´d have to complain about is that 45 days isnt long enough. I think she should get 3 months at the very least.

Oh well, so what...what is more disturbing news about Paris is that she and Nicole Richie are supposed to have a reality show about helping people lose weight!!
Anyways, I don't mind Paris...though if I was in her place I wouldn't drunk drive cause I'm afraid of it, but I would make an album and torture radio listeners :)

I hope she makes a Lesbian Jail Video. :)

That she will. Then she will take all the pains to ensure that the videos get circulated on the internet. And then she would make a hue and cry over the breach of privacy of a *celebrity* !!

This is just going to give her more publicity. In the end it is actually going to end up helping her. She can remain in the public eye and be famous since attention is what she seeks.

Though apparently this new motoring about may not actually be a problem, looks like my mistake...

LATEST: PARIS HILTON is permitted to drive again - despite receiving jail time on Friday (04May07) for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license. The hotel heiress will begin a 45-day sentence next month (05Jun07) but, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles, she's free to get behind the wheel of a car in the meantime. Hilton's license was suspended in November (06) after a drink-driving arrest, but the organisation claims it was reinstated at the end of March (07). Veteran DUI attorney Lawrence Taylor says, "If her license was reinstated, she's perfectly okay to drive despite her probation violation. There's no problem with that."

Dammit!

During one of her many arrests, Paris signed a document saying she understood her license had been suspended. The DMV even mailed her a notice about this. Last weekend, she said, "I don't read anything I sign." Then she fired her publicist, saying that he said she could drive with a suspended license for "work-related" trips. The next day, she re-hired him.
Now there's a website dedicated to Free Paris!, hoping the governor will pardon her. (Fat chance.) They say something about Paris offering teenage girls some celebrity brightness in their mundane world. Yeah, Paris is a great role model---she made a bad porno movie and now has been arrested 3 times in the past 6 months. Now is the worst part---she might be jailed for only 22 days, due to jail-overcrowding in L.A.
