Penn tennis ball quality

After Head purchased Penn, the new Penn tennis balls have really dropped in quality. I have used them for years without any problems, lately they have been breaking, or 1 or so in the container is missing a number.

Anyone else having these kind of problems? Thinking of giving Wilson a try!

dunlop grand prix balls are nice. i don't like wilson's b/c they're so hard, but many usta tourneys use them. i still like penn's, but they only last a day or so.

Slazenger is easily the best. Wilson is great for 10 mins. Dunlop is like Slazenger minus 20%. Penn is like woolworths balls.

Dunlop Grand Prix or Fort balls are the best and most consistent. Slaz balls not bad either (owned by Dunlop??)

Wilson balls are the pits - fluff up and go bald too quickly. Like potatoes. Also too light.

Penn not badd but 1 out of 3 fluffs up way more than the other 2.

If you ever get to try the Roland Garros balls used at the French Open they are good. Made by Tecnifibre. Nice weight, good quality.

Exactly what K!cksw3rve said. Slazenger is is world of their own. Penn is total garbage. A wilson championship ball blows away their "ATP" ball.

Penn were my favorite in days gone by, but now I do Dunlop (Championships). Penn's quality control has dropped, I don’t know if it has anything to do with Head ownership. I just don’t like Wilson. I guess everyone has a personal preference which is why try and use my brand when playing a match. I haven’t used Slazenger, but I’ll give them a try when I find them for sell.

i agree that Penn balls have gone in the dumper..at least the reg duty felts have..i dont buy any HD balls.,and i find the Wilsons much more consistent and longer lasting altho feeling just slightly heavier to me than the Penn.
