People with low arch should buy low arch o medium/high arch shoes?

I have a flat feet and so i have low arch and i have heard different theories.

1) You should buy shoes with low arch because they respect the natural shape of your foot, if you have low arch why change the natural way your foot hit the ground?

2) You should buy shoes with medium arch because the pronation of the foot is not correct so you should sustain your foot while running, at first you will feel the change but then you'll get used to.

I have had shoes with low-medium/low arch so far and i feel good, but now i wanna buy a running shoes and my trainer said me a support would be better. It is maybe that the tennis shoes should be the same shape as your foot and the running shoes should sustain a little more as you only run forward in them, while in tennis you have lateral movement?

Your experience, knowledge....

^^ My experience is limited here, but I can tell you if you overcorrect you can cause problems. I created a pinched nerve which sidelined me for several weeks by going to an arch that was too high. My feeling is, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

I would go with option 1. Using too much arch support in my mind might cause your foot to not pronate enough. You should choose shoes that have the correct amount of arch support

I did some research when I purchase my running shoes. People w/ flat foot should go for arch support (not necessary hi arch) vs more cushion designs.
