Hi all!

Here goes my story.

I've been playing tennis for about 2-3 years and In the beginning, I took coaching for just one month and due to timings problem,i had to discontinue it.
Thereafter, I never stopped playing tennis and i picked up this game pretty fast so do my speed of hitting the ball and accuracy.
For the past 1 year i used to play with a very cheap racket(COSCO one),Then i upgraded to Yonex(also quite cheap) and then HEAD(Ti 4000).
Strangely after 40-50 mins playing with HEAD racket,I felt pain in my forearm. It was a very uniform pain and the symptoms were like--
1.Loss of strength while hitting the ball.
2.Shaky hands, problem holding the grip of the racket.
3.Extreme pain during the serve especially.

I thought it's just because i am playing after long time(1-2 weeks when i last played) and maybe i was hitting the ball too hard .So,i took the break for 30 mins as the pain was too much to handle. After 30 mins, the intensity of pain started to slow down and i felt better but as soon i tried to hit a shot after break,I soon had to retire due to pain.

On the very same night i couldn't sleep properly due to pain . I again took a break for 3-4 days and i played with my old racket(Yonex one).Strangely, this time i didn't expierenced any pain or discomfort even when i tried to hit a ball as hard as i can.

I observed that my strings of Yonex racket are little damp and it was perfectly balanced(Head-handle of the racket). On the other hand, the case of HEAD racket was entirely opposite, very tight strings and head of the racket was heavier then the racket.

Although, i was not entirely convinced by that my HEAD racket is a mother of all problems.I took a long break of 5-6 months and started again with HEAD .The pain returned again.I became suspicious with the racket so, i bought a new one Babolat XS 102 after reading good reviews .

In Babolat XS 102,head was heavier then the handle but it had the power i wanted. So, i played with this racket for 2-3 days and the same thing happened. The Pain!!! .

I took advice from my coaches, friends and from internet , some told me that it's a tennis elbow ,others advised golfers elbow.Tired from the recurring pain,I went out to see a professional. He first took my X-ray ,all the reports were fine, then he took my Doppler's test and in the last he took MRI of the forearm part. All the reports came clean. In the last he advised me not to play tennis as there is no point in suffering again and again.

I've developed a passion for the game and i really wanna play this. Please guys, help me out to identify the pain as it's killing me. I'll try to explain it's more symptoms.

1.All of my friends says that i hit lots of top spins during playing session.Maybe like the shots of Rafael Nadal.

2.I hit two hand backhand and never experience any discomfort while playing.

3.The pain generally lasts for 2-3 days. It's a very even and uniform pain in forearm sometimes it's seems like it's more near biceps area and sometimes it's feel like it's more near lower arm but it's never on elbow part.

4.Serving in the game maximize the pain.

I will appreciate any kind of help. Thanks for your time.

Regards.

I posted a possible rehab for tennis elbow. I now see that the pain is not in your elbow at all.

You did get medical advice, but was this an orthopod with a busy sports medicine practice? If not, then you may want to find someone in your area that is.

Now obviously I've never seen you play, and all of the following is speculative.
But my best guess is that you have a technique problem that is putting too much stress on the muscles in your forearm. The most common problem is not "locking" your wrist as you bring your racquet forward. That is on your groundstrokes and serve, you start with your wrist bent, but by the time you actually strike the ball, your wrist is locked straight in line with your forearm, with no additional bending of the wrist into follow through.
If what you are doing is "breaking your writst", you are putting too much stress on your forearm muscles.
The solution in this case would be to get some tennis lessons to make sure you are hitting your strokes properly. Watching the fuzzy yellow balls videos may help you visualize the correct technique: http://www.fuzzyyellowballs.com/video-tennis-lessons/
But a good teaching pro can spot your problem in a flash and help you correct it much more quickly than on your own.
The second part of the solution would be to do exercises to build up the musculature in your arm. You may just not have the strength to prevent momentum from swinging the racquet from "breaking your wrist". The following exercises are recommended to help prevent arm problems: http://www.asmi.org/SportsMed/media/thrower10.swf Some apparently are finding the Thera-Band Flex Bar helpful: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/25/phys-ed-an-easy-fix-for-tennis-elbow/
But again, where you have been having problems, rehab would be best done under the direction of a sports medicine specialst working with a trainer or rehab therapist.

And yes, using the heaviest, most flexible racquet you can reasonably swing would be recommended. (Unfortunately, your new Babolat is probably way to stiff with a flex rating of 70.) Also recommended would be using "soft" strings like a multifilament nylon or natural gut strung at a relatively low tension.

Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Thanks for all the support guys!! really appreciate it. Tried everything but it won't go away until i changed my grip to eastern forehand.
It's kind a hard to hit with this grip but it reduces the pain considerably .Will keep you updated.
