Prince Textreme Tour 100 (310) Thread

Yes the beast is a GREAT serving racquet..... so quick background. I played with a 2014 PS. Tried my coaches blade, ugh bad idea. Read good things about prince and had a temp coach using one back in April. So I tried the phantom, tt, and beast. Given the fact the beast was 90$ and I like red. Mainly cuz it was 90$. Anyways. My PS is 337 grams and the beast still is a beast to move if you aren’t serving. I “think” I added 10mph to my serve but it was probably 5. Although it was noticeably faster. I also got some shoulder pain as well,

I wanted to like the phantom, really really bad. However even my coach begrudgingly admitted the TT100 was the closest thing to his blade he had ever tried. We are talking the 2015 blade. Anyways, of the three I’m a fan of the tt, then phantom, then beast.

As to the comment about personal. All TTPS does is troll and bash people. Everyone sucks at tennis and he can beat them all. Yet you all feed the troll over and over and argue with him. So before you start calling personal I’d expect you to be in every post TTPS makes and calling him out with his comments. Just because they arent as direct doesn’t make them any less “personal”

Has anyone used the Beast 100 and know how it compares with the TT310? It see me similarly specced with more stiffness and one more cross. Looks appealing at its price point.
Yes. I've found the Beast to have easier access to power, spin is about the same, control quite a bit less, more maneuverable and it's also a bit stiffer. The TT310 wins for me because it feels more solid, I like the thinner beam and it's considerably more comfortable. Also, I love serving with the TT310. The Beast is by no means a bad stixk, but probably best suited to baseline players with western grips and very spinny strokes

I will not be as kind as Roland. It has easy access to serve power. When you make a stick for serves everything but serves and overheads suffer. Bad stick? no, but you game better be a bombing serve and stroke that lead to over heads because there are a lot better twigs for those

I never used the blade, but does it really swing the same as the TT310?
I see the specs are quite a bit head heavier and read it also swing a little heavier.
Asking, because the blade is a "top seller" and the blade V7 has piqued my interest.

I used the 18x20 version of the TT and it’s pretty close. A touch heavier but not much. I swing pretty hard so I like it. I’ll be getting the new blade if it’s even close to the 2015 version.
The pro i hit with usually mocks every thing I played with, even my pure strike. He hit with it and said it’s close. The blade is his D1 college stick

The o3 Beast 100 is a much more complete frame than the solid beam.

X-Perience has a touch more power than HyperG, Spin equal and better comfort. If you get the tension right, it has a really nice crisp feel to it but never harsh. Both hold tension fairly well for polys, with X-Perience being slightly better according to my RacquetTune measurements. I try not to get too caught up in the hype but after several recommendations for X-Perience, I thought I would give it a try. I'm very impressed with it, have ordered 6 more sets and plan to purchase a reel of it. I strung 16G mains and 17G crosses on both my TT100 310 and TT100P.

X-Perience is a shaped poly vs Evo which is round. Evo is hands down the best of approximately 30 round polys that I have tried. I purchased a reel of it about 18 months ago and strung it way too tight in my DR98 and didn't use it again until recently in my TT100 and loved it.

It is soft but lively (not at all mushy), holds tension and playability exceptionally well after the initial tension drop that all polys have after stringing. I'm stringing it at 55.5 on my drop weight machine with floating clamps - it feels like about 53 on an electronic machine with fixed clamps.

Evo vs X-Perience: Evo has more power and is very plush, but has a lively feel to it. As mentioned earlier, both are fairly lively and comfortable (don't be fooled by the stiffness rating of X-Perience (around 220), it is much more comfortable than I imagined). X-Perience has a touch more spin (but Evo has the most spin of the round polys that I have tried), X-Perience is crisper and has a bit more control.

Occasionally when I hit a serve with good form (particularly hitting Up & Out) I get unbelievable spin from Evo and the ball just jumps off the court a foot or two higher than expected. This has only happened a few times and helps me understand how the pros get such good spin with round polys...of course they can do it on demand whereas I'm more like once each leap-year.

In summary - I prefer XP over HyperG in pretty much every area...just string it a few pounds tighter.
Evo is an amazing round poly in every respect, but it is powerful so go up 3-4 pounds over a normal poly.
Do yourself a favour and buy some XP and see what you think.

When my new batch of XP arrives, I'll be trying XP 16G mains with Evo 16L crosses - I've got a good feeling about that combo.

Did you try this combo out yet?

Don't ask me why, but I have zero problems with TE with this racket. I'm using polys that I would have never dared to use and at higher tensions also.
same here.... my sensitive elbow doesn't even twitch one bit...

i love this frame and my string setup... full poly grapplesnake alpha strung at 51... stabilizes around 46lbs... amazing.. as nadal would say "unbelieable"

i matched both of my 210 4 1/2 to the same 7 pts headlight. and withing a few grams of each other. with the help of led for the head on one, and putty in the cap of the other.
one has solinco hg 125 and the other has TF ICE 16.. so we have the square sharp edge vs the smooth round. . this is the string that michelle from TW switched to this year. lets see which string wins out over all.
we know that the spin will go to the hg.. but is the ice takes it in every other area then so be it. this will be a fun playtest.
i play today with one of my hitting partners. .then again monday with my regular hitting partner. so by next week i will have the ultimate string playtest ready for you guys.

What is everyone's favorite string and tension in the textreme tour 310?
Have only tried one - Tour Bite Soft at 48 and that is a really good set up for my playing style. I have sets of Cyclone, V Torque Tour and Signum Pro X Perience to try next

Grapplesnake alpha strung at 51 and tour sniper at 49 both are great. Comfortable and very good power/control blend. Also good spin potential.

Tried xperience and it was too much power and not enough control.

Also tried velocity.. if I can't play poly for some reason this would be my choice of multi..at 52 lbs.. it was really good control.

I had a very similar experience as well, and can second the part where you said "Don't ask me why, but I have zero problems with TE with this racket. I'm using polys that I would have never dared to use and at higher tensions also."
Out of curiosity, how did X-Perience compare to Hyper G? Also, can you elaborate on Pro Line Evo vs. X-Perience?

While still waiting for more X-perience to arrive, I decided to string up with Hyper G adding a few pounds. Some of these strings feel so different when you get the tension right.
It felt really nice, so I just wanted to update my earlier comparison between X-Perience and Hyper G.

I think I would probably give a slight edge in spin to Hyper G now, with slightly more power and comfort going to X-Perience, but it's a lot closer than my previous comments indicated. I expected Hyper G to be harsh when I raised the tension, but I was pleasantly suprised.

I really don't think you could go wrong with either of these strings in this racket, they are both exceptional.

I also strung another TT310 with a pack of Cyclone 17G adding a bit more tension than before. The Hyper G was better in all respects with the exception of spin which was pretty even.
The cyclone felt a bit harsh and my arm was a little sore while playing for the first time with this racket. However, I'm happy to report that there was no pain after I finished, and still not pain 6 hrs later, which is a huge relief. This racket is a gift to TE sufferers like me.

As for the cyclone, unfortunately I ordered a reel of the stuff a couple of days ago because the price was so good (about $95 Aussie Dollars)...looks like I'll be returning it.

What racquets would you compare to the TT100(310)? I had a buddy ask me to explain what this racquet is like in comparison to other racquets.

I ended up buying the TT310 based on feedback from a post I created on this forum asking for a arm-friendly substitute for the PS One7.

I must admit that I was sceptical at first...a 16x18 pattern with 6 vs 8 strings through the throat...I was expecting a rocket launcher with no control but I was pleasantly surprised.

I wouldn’t go back to my PS17 now even if, by some miracle, the new version was as arm friendly as the TT310. It’s just a better racket in all areas IMO

Are playing the tt310 and vc98 similar ?
I have both, I'd say the TT310 is a little easier to hit with but I like the feel and spin of vcore more. I haven't added any lead to the TT yet, but that's next in my list to do. But yes, I think they feel fairly similar.

Last night I customized a Tour 260. I used a 3D printed butt cap to extend it to 27.6", added 36" of 1/2" lead tape right at the top of the handle, and a Gamma leather grip. It came factory strung with PPC - which I don't like and will hopefully have time to cut out and restring tonight. With OG and dampener it is 328 grams and should have a swing weight just north of 330. I don't get to play until tomorrow night, but I'm pretty excited about it. A couple of years ago I used a Graphite LB and I miss the extended frames.

Spent some more time with the O3 version and definitely think it'll be my primary stick over the solid beam.

String pattern is just that little bit tighter in the centre mains which I like, stability is just as good and in theory comfort should be marginally better. I also find the thinner beam quite noticeable, both aesthetically and it feels a wee bit faster through the air.

None of these differences are huge, but just enough to give it the edge.

Well I just bought a TT100 (310) here on the forum. Looking forward to comparing it to my Yonex Ai98's I've been using for years. I used to play with the Prince O3 Speedport Tour (orange racquet) way back in the day and really liked it at the time. The 16x18 in that frame was a bit too open in the upper part of the stringbed. This TT100 looks like a more tightly-spaced 16x18 which I like. My Ai98's are 16x19 and have 8 mains in the throat, so I'm used to the control that offers. Hopefully the control won't suffer moving to the Prince 16X18. I'll report back.

Are the tt310 and the 290 exactly the same racquet with more/less weight in the handle?

TWE don't have tt310 L3 in stock and I have some leather grip in stock, I would maybe order a 290 and put it at 310 spec.

Power levels ar 825 for the 310 and 850 for the 290, that's strange.

In my experience beside less weight in the handle the 290 also has lower twist weight and feels much more whippy even when customized to 310 specs.

There are a few on these boards who have claimed that the difference is solely in the weight of the handle. However, I'm still doubting that as well. That deal on TWE looks very tempting though...

I think the 25% deal ended already? I tried adding 2 racquets total > €300 but no discount shows up.

TW US also ended a sale early a month or two back.
I think the promotion wasn't supposed to include the new Blades or it was too good. :)
The sale banner is gone.

In France it ended before the end of the day too. Hopefully, I purchased soon enough. TT100 290gr is out of stock, so I won't receive them until end of next week.

I played a tournament game tonight with the demo TT100 O3 290gr from TW. What an incredible feeling, as good as during my friendly games. For sure it's the good choice for me. No effort at all to drive this frame. Smooth touch, easy strikes. I lost but I loved playing tonight.
