Rafa: My story...(Rafa's new book)

Like "He can't even speak the language", which, for example, we've already seen in this very thread.

(This usually from people who only speak English, and none of the three languages Rafa speaks -- and whose English is also frequently barely passable  -- but I digress.)

So actually, that's more precisely "xenophobic" instead of strictly "racist" (though if I hear one more comparison of Rafa to a monkey, especially since that's the animal to which Rethuglicans frequently compare President Obama, and the racist implications there are unmistakable ....) -- does the shading of meaning there make it all more illustrative for you?

Yep, I'm satrting to think that that has something to do with some people's attitudes towards him.

I prefer reading a players book once they have retired, then they can be more honest about things. He carnt really say what he thinks about other players, the atp etc while hes still got to work with these people regularly. I read Andy Murray's book a few years ago and it was the biggest load of crap ive ever seen. Jimmy Connors autobiograpghy which is out next year will be a much better read.

I totally agree, Roger hasn't even released a book yet and Rog is 5 years older haha

Nope. Did you see the title page of the book Rafa posted? Nadal co-authored it with Carlin.

Oh, my bad...

BTW, that's so interesting many Roger fans(almost all of them are Nadal haters) were more reacting to this news than Nadal fans.
I know Nadal fans are minority in this forum though.

I think they don't like Rafa getting more attention than Federer. Especially when Federer isn't winning.

Well this is going to be mega-controversial. Just as I'm sure Agassi's would have been if he'd provided material to have one ghosted at the age of 25.

As opposed to Rafa deflecting attention by releasing a book when he gets repeatedly clobbered by Djokovic when Nadal is supposed to be defending his turf?

Nadal did defend his turf, Roland Garros. Did you really think Wimbledon was Nadal's 'turf'?

Rafa is supposed to be defending a lot of his titles, especially on clay, but Novak raised his level and got in the way of that.
Works both ways. You Nadturds are not liking it that Novak is getting a lot of attention, snatched important titles and the top ranking from Nadal.

You make more money obviously if you release 2 autobiographies. And Nadal's career as been so eventful it is a good idea to produce 2 volumes anyway. This is the first volume. Nadal is smart, obviously on the court, but off it too.

Oh so now Wimbledon is not considered his turf by *******s? For years *******s have been arguing that Nadal is an all surface player and not just great at playing on clay. How convenient!

Nadal has 6 FOs. He has 2 Wimbledons.

Even a ******* can understand that basic math. Wimbledon is Federer's surface and Federer's alone.

That is not my poiint. My point is *******s always try and argue that Nadal is not just a clay specialist and they point to Nadal's slam defeats against Federer on non-clay surfaces. NOW that Nadal has not defended Wimbledon the theme is that grass is not really his turf?

As a ******* clearly you can see what I am talking about.

If Nadal was a clay specialist, he wouldn't have won any majors outside of the French Open and would have virtually no tournament titles on surfaces other than clay. Nadal has won the career Grand Slam, for goodness sakes.

Again that is not my point. My point is that many *******s claim Nadal is much more than a clay specialist but now in this thread one of the *******s(Bulzilla or Rafa2005 or whatever his name is today) claims Nadal did not defend this last Wimbledon because grass is not his turf.

Well which is it? Either he has proven himself on all surfaces or he has not. You can't claim grass is not his turf if you claim he has proven himself on all surfaces.

Clay is the surface where Nadal has been dominant since 2005, but Nadal has proven himself on all surfaces because he has won big tournaments on every surface, including all 4 majors.

Yes, I know that and I agree with you. Still that is not my point here.

Rafa2005 replied to another poster about Nadal not defending this Wimbledon because grass is not Nadal's turf.

How can you claim it is not Nadal's turf if you claim his superiority on all surfaces? When I say "you" I don't mean you personally. I mean anybody or most notably *******s.

To me the fact that he is not defending any titles off clay means that by far his best surface and the place he dominates pretty much solely is on clay regardless of the fact that he has won 2 HC slams and 2 grass slams(which is a great achievement by the way.)

Why does a biography need to be controversial?
Some of you guys seem to be to used to the yellow press.

"Deflecting attention"?. Do you think he came up with the book idea just now?. It obviously has been going on for months, maybe a year or more.

"Djokovic cannot continue form like this so I have no strategy for him just wait for his form to drop"...........pure brilliance

He could have beaten him in the Wimbledon final, so I'm not sure he needs to make any changes, other than do better what he's doing.

Yep. Someone who calls him a clay specialist cannot be taken seriously.

Mmm... I thought he meant his "turf" as in his "home" or something... not sure how you're using that word here.

In any case, I'd say Nadal played better in Wimbledon than in RG.

Nadal could have beaten Djokovic at Wimbledon? Well, why didn't he then? Wasn't in the mood to lift the trophy that day? Djokovic has soundly defeated Nadal the last 5 times they have played. Djokovic has improved and he is better than Nadal in every way right now--i.e. defense, return of serve, serving, solid off both wings, etc. Most importantly Djokovic is in Nadal's head or at least he appears to be. That is the most important factor of all as we have seen from Nadal/Federer.

Yep. Someone who calls him a clay specialist cannot be taken seriously
.

They can't? 70% of Nadal's total wins have come on clay and he has never defended a non-clay title. Sounds pretty convincing to me.

In any case, I'd say Nadal played better in Wimbledon than in RG.

But clay is where he has won most of his slams. He may have played better at Wimbledon this year than RG but it was not good enough to win and defend the title was it? Yet *******s try and convince others that Nadal is equally good on all surfaces. Not from where I am sitting he is not.
Don't get me wrong, he is a great player and he has achieved a lot, but, clay is by far the surface that he excels on and feels most comfortable on to this day.

Your English is pretty good for a Chilean, almost as good as your excuses used in defending your idol. Your posts are eerily similar to someone who shall remain 'nameless'.

btw, good posts for a noob on here, you're a true fan, where were you before July 2011?

there is only chapter on nadal being injured ? Preposterous ! Blasphemy ! It's a outrage, an digrace and an scadal !

It was supposedly multiple chapters but he had to take an MTO while writing it, hence only one made it.

slow down dude, this chapter was followed by the lenghty Chapter 8:
How I conquered injuries with PRP

This chapter goes into the revolutionary, earth-shaking revelations of how a custom PRP treatment cured his on again off again knee issues. Obviously, it doesn't delve into why it only works for him - must protect the patented method, no?

Chapter 9 - How I conquered dengue fever (and the excessive sweating issues)

I've pre-ordered my copy signed by his doctor, I can't wait to read about this amazing yet humble guy.

I think it also worked for Tsonga. Last year he missed the US Open due to knee problems and also the Davis Cup final because he had to get treated.
This year he didn't have any problems (as far as I know).
