Returning to the Market. What is "bombing"?

Hello guys,

I have been absent from the market for 5year more or less, but I kept playing.
I feel I have to make a change, so I am planning to order a couple of sets.
Which strings are the new trend right now?

I have a small list that I would like to give a try:
- Tour Bite
- Confidential
- Big Hitter Black 7
- Signum Pro X-Perience
- Hurricane Tour

P.S: I am currently playing with MSV Focus HEX 1,25

If you need any other detail just let me know.

-just recently got a chance to string sol.confidential, its a 6 or 5 sided poly!!?? no hit experience from my end on this one
-btw im not a solinco fan, but sol.hyper.g (very popular, and not too bad a feel) and this NEW confidential ,might be worth looking at !!?!!
-out of the list you provided, 2x crap/bad strings stand out to me, babo.burricane and sol.tourbite, old/hard polys, i am not a fan of
-the others, confidential, big hitter b.7, msv.focus.hex are a good side by side comparison strings to test
-im not familiar with signum.pro, but they do make good stuff at a correct price range

1. I echo Hyper-g
2. Conifdential
3. Technifibre Ice Code
4. Head Lynx Tour
5. Kirschbaum Proline Evolution
6. Tourna Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour

I'd say these are the most popular / well regarded polys that are 'trending' as of right now, so I excluded Babolat and Luxilon strings.

Stick to Focus Hex... LOL...

So you really wish to go down that path ? endless combination of strings and their features ?
If your current string works... keep it.... go thinner... or go softer (Focux Hex plus 25 or 38)

@Macedo @shamaho guys how Focus Hex stands in terms of notching? And how sharp it is actually?
Your question on notching is a bit vague for me.... notching in full bed ? in a hybrid ? notching of which string ? MSV or the other ?
nonetheless hmmm can't really say as I don't know that many strings....

As for sharpness ? you mean of the edges ? not that sharp IMO, actually barely visible in the 1.20 variant, visible on the 1.23.

Notching in full bed or ripping into the cross in hybrid. Both interesting. If it keeps moving in full bed for some good beriod before locking up, it's promising.

that's not what you asked, but Solinco Hyper-G 1.25 notches way less than MSV CoFocus 1.18.
Because I compared them side to side...
I think it's expected - despite first thought, sharp edges are not that bad as long as there're flat surfaces to press against. Round strings have very small area to hold against each other, which gets smashed faster, and hence they notch.

yeah, the larger the contact surface the more less probable is the notching. Unless the shaped string is very twisted of course. MSV is also softer, which also means it notches even easier

Hm, I was actually claiming the opposite)) Co-focus is round poly. Shaped poly where plains may rest/slide against each other and distribute pressure will resist notching longer.

My observations exactly. Round polys tend to notch and SNAP! while flatter, shaped ones like Hyper G wear thin and pop.

I wrote this review after three hours of hitting:

However, the way it played the next six hours or so (4 sessions) was a really good time on the courts. I gave FEEL a low score initially, but as the string 'aged' it improved to the point I would give it an 7.5 (maybe an 8) and I would have to drop durability to a 6.5. After about ten hours of play all the characteristics that made playing this in a full bed dropped off rather quickly. I tried to squeeze another two hours out of it. Unfortunately, the tension loss too great that I became too inconsistent - mostly hitting too deep with a normal cut at the ball. For that 8 hour period, Incognito was awesome. YMMV, but for playing competitive matches, the overall performance completely outweighs the durability (cost).
