RF Cap is back

Nishikori's hat goes for $29.90 so I guess RF will be at least $29.90 if not more.

Nishikori's hat went on sale for $14.90

This must mean that Roger now holds full ownership of the RF logo. Wonder if we’ll ever hear the terms of the settlement for Nike to relinquish that. One can only assume that when Nike designed the RF logo for him, Fed likely believed that he would remain with Nike forever (akin to Tiger or Jordan).

Nice to see it finally out of limbo and with who it rightly should be with.

Maybe there will be better designed Uniqlo Federer gear rather than having the Go Roger text plastered all over it.

It sold out days ago. I got myself a few for $14.90

You must be from another planet because Djokovic wore that hat when he was under contract with Uniqlo. He wore that hat in 2013 Wimbledon in both the semi (beat Del Potro) and lost to Murray in the final. You need to get out more often.
You just proved that it's a different hat. The RG13/W13 cap had those stripes on sides that were much thinner on the back and was not available for sale.

The only ND cap uniqlo ever sold was the USO 2012 one:

It's also different material wise compared to Kei's caps (which uniqlo was selling tons of, sometimes 3 per tournament).

If anything it would be better to compare the new RF cap to the old ND one (although that one wasn't available for sale), as they are almost identical with the exception of stiching on the bill

And pretty much the same on the inside:

(will add pics of ND cap for comparison when I get back home and perhaps order the RF one as well)

That's definitely not a performance oriented hat, but one could argue it's much better for casual wear.

I am not disputing that. They are not the same hat because the old Djokovic's hat is made from dri-fit material which the current Uniqlo Nishikori is not. That being said, just about every tennis people recognize the Uniqlo logo on the hat. Btw, I do have the Uniqlo hat that Djokovic wore when he was with Uniqlo

So safe to assume his on-court apparel will also have the RF logos.
They d better have the logo. The Uniqlo ones sucked until they have the R F. But it is the super rich Japanese owner who makes decisions that haven’t made any sense yet.

how much are these ? $30 ?

yes a great disapointment since day one. Wear with great joy a lot of uniqlo casual gear, including some collabs they've done in the past, and i can't understand how they miss the spot everytime with Federer.
tbh their "active" line has always been dull and cheap looking. I wrongly thought they'll bring a premium line with Fed name.
And I'm not even talking about that well beaten horse that is their awful management of products availability.

The logo is a little too big for my taste and I've always found the reverse Go Roger text kinda silly.

I have no idea why they overscaled the RF logo like that.

Not sure how Uniqlo has managed to screw up something as idiot-proof as an RF cap, but they have.

I can understand Uniqlo wanting to demarcate their caps from the Nike version by incorporating their own "rOGer logo" branding properties but they are included way too prominently, too.

I’ll agree with you there on the Federer Uniqlo designs. Bland and ugly

It's been such a disappointing run so far. I liked the Shanghai and Cincy kits from a few years ago but apart from that Federer x Uniqlo has been a massive diappointment. My theory was that Uniqlo was phoning in Federer's early designs preparing to go all-out in 2020 for the Olympic year, but we haven't seen any of those designs. Maybe in the new year we will start seeing a big improvement in the line.

For a clean look, lose the double box on the sleeve, and replace with the RF. Done.

That would make for an interesting design proposal. Pay Federer 10 million a year for a decade to wear Uniqlo and then remove the Uniqlo logo from his shirts :)

After signing a $300 million sponsorship with Uniqlo, Federer and his fans had to go through a drawn out process concerning his custom RF logo, but as of this week, the logo is back in Federer’s hands.

“That’s right,” said Federer. “The RF cap is back.”

Roger Federer got his logo back and we’re celebrating with a line of RF Caps.

8 unique colorways at a price every fan will appreciate. Will become available on December 8

Cheers

That's not what I said. I said lose the double box on the sleeve. Not the chest.

Is the problem with the RF logo fitment perhaps due to the front of the Uniqlo cap being more streamlined/tailwindish than the more ‘trucker’/Elmer style Nike Fed caps?

I admit it's derivative, but most caps look like this.

You need to buy a real designer brand to get beauty.

And even most of those look like everything else.

The design of the cap is very clean looking, and the proportions are perfect, as are the colours.

I bet that the people that get it will be very happy with what they bought.

There is a notable omission in the colour palette: a red cap with white logo. Federer being Swiss, and those being the traditional colours for Switzerland tells me that that omission is not accidental, and the release of that will be reserved for when the OG come around. I would also like to see a bordeaux colour (with white or perhaps silver logo) and a cream colour (with red logo).

Japanese and Chinese price is around $20 but I will not surprised Uniqlo priced at $30 for the hats.
I don’t know why uniqlo raised hats and wristband prices in US 50-100% more than other worlds...
