Annoyed that such a talent would risk his career like this. Talk of an end to his career is floating around.
Hope he gets better cos I think he has a solid future in F1.

They feel invincible. Webber kept riding mountain bikes even after he broke his leg. I expect some clauses to be added to contracts.

I hope the hand can be saved and he makes it back.

I agree, hope this doesn't end his F1 career. He's too good a driver. From reading James Allen's blog it's looking like 6 months to a year recovery.

he just came out of his 7hr operation.. Doc saying it went well, arm is warm but has 2 wait 6 days more. Very good driver especially in the rain

Even best case scenario, realistically doesn't have him coming back till 2012 in my opinion - and I personally think even that is optimistic since it depends on every aspect of the recovery going perfectly well.

My heart wants him to race in F1 again, but personally my hunch is his F1 career is over. But I'm hoping I'm completely wrong and he makes a miraculous recovery.

Put it this way, it would be one of the great motor racing stories of all time if he does make it back into an F1 cockpit after the injuries he's received.

An update for today:

Professor Mario Igor Rossello, who operated on Kubica last night, has said the Lotus Renault driver will take a year to recover from his injuries, while more immediately it will take the best part of a week to determine whether the procedure to reconstruct his hand was a success.

Rossello, a specialist hand surgeon, said: "The hand is warm which means the surgery went well. It was a difficult operation.

"We will need six days to verify if the blood circulation in the limb responds as it should do.
