Ryan Harrison has an excellent chance to get to the QF

Who does he play next match?

Baghdatis. Haha. He's got that. Baghdad is like 32 and undersized. I'll admit he's very talented and has a lot of power in his returns, but Harrison needs to bully him off the court. It'll be like George W. Bush vs. Iraq.

USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

Almagro isn't good in the 4th round. Monfils is all right, but this isn't really the sport that guys like him usually excel at. I like Harrison to get to the QF and beyond! Maybe he'll win this tourney for America.

Yeah, I'm not rooting for him if he's having too many UEs just because he's trying to keep Milos running around the court when he's clearly hobbled.

Plus his kit is ugly.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:o_O

That section is The Gurufils to win now that his knee is fine.

Wouldn't that be great?

The comms are giving out all sorts of compliments on the quality of his tennis.

I still remember when he played Rafa in 4R here. The tennis was as exciting as that crazy guy running on court.

Well, almost.

*sigh*

Oh god please don't tell me people are going to try and hype Ryan Harrison as the next best thing? He sucks! His opponent was extremely injured, that's it.
Once he stopped gifting breaks with DFs, Harrison played very solid tennis. He hit one banana FH curling passing shot that was highlight material.

He has a chance vs Baghdatis. Beyond that, not so much.

Human highlight reel again, this time without destroying the time-space continuum like his 1R "lowlight".

Not discrediting his win but Harrison was hyped for so long and failed abysmally. This win is nothing special in terms of his career and its future. Good for him for reaching the 3R though, does it need a thread though? Nah.

Anything to avoid the flame wars in the (now ignored by me) surviving general discussion thread.

I'm glad that Botnic won't get the opportunity to have a 4th lesson from the Guru this year. He has learned absolutely nothing from the previous 3. He is a very poor learner and is endangering The Guru's legacy.

Not looking so good for Harrison at the moment, down 4-1 in the opening set. I think it's only normal to have a let down after getting the win of your career against a top 10 player, so a hangover effect isn't unexpected. Also, Baghdatis is a quality player, former grand slam finalist some years ago, so not an easy task for Mr. Harrison to come through. I fancy Baggy in 4 sets in this one.

I'm surprised this is the first time in the 4th round for him, he always seemed like a very solid top 20-30 player to me. Unfortunately injuries played their part.

He'll probably face Monfils in the next round so there is a small chance he wins that one too.
Andre thwarted his best chance 2R USO'06, 7-5 in the fifth in an all-time classic match. Bad luck of the draw to face an inspired former champ on his farewell tour. Had he won that night, he would have probably handled Ben Becker and faced Roddick in 4R in a HC slam for the second time that year. That would have been epic!!!
