Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who combined have won 44 Grand Slam singles title, will compete in a "Hit for Haiti" fundraiser on March 12 of the BNP Paribas Open in efforts to raise a minimum of $1 million for Haiti relief efforts.

Larry Ellison, who purchased the tournament in December, decided to coordinate a second Hit for Haiti exhibition after seeing the success it had at the Australian Open, where hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised for Haiti relief efforts.

The event will feature Roger Federer and Pete Sampras playing Rafael Nadal and Andre Agassi. The event will be broadcast live on the Tennis Channel beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The net proceeds from ticket sales to this session will be donated to the American Red Cross for their relief efforts in Haiti. Fans will also be able to donate to the relief effort through text messages and on-site contributions throughout the evening and event. In addition to these fund-raising efforts, Ellison will make a personal donation to this very special cause.

“When I saw the first Hit for Haiti event in Australia, I was very moved by the players coming together, on the eve of an important tournament, for such a worthy cause,” said Ellison. “I wanted to bring together an exceptional group of players, with an unprecedented amount of Grand Slam titles, at the BNP Paribas Open. Our goal is to leave a memorable impression on fans, while raising a substantial amount of money that will directly impact the needs of people in Haiti.”

Sounds good... :D

I am really looking forward to this, hope it's good and we get to see a bit of Sampras vs Nadal.

Also will be interesting to see how it all goes after Andre's book scandal.

Should be good.

Federer serving with Sampras at the net should be pretty unbreakable, but if any people can do it, it are Nadal and Agassi.

This will definitely be interesting...my hope is Agassi will initiate a lot of laughs and will help keep it light. So much of the fun of the first Hit for Haiti was its thrown-together nature and overall frivolity. Nothing deadly serious.

Ellison just bought Indian Wells and intends, over time, to make it into a grand slam event, I've no doubt about it. So while he's very carefully lined up the talent and the venue and the funding and all the marketing for this HforH, I hope the frivolity still reigns!

They should do charities and raise money to plant trees to negate their flying CO2 emissions. That would be a statement of good intent and send a signal that they really care about the future.

Should be good either way... The frivolity was awesome, but a serious match between these four would be amazing too.

Holy **** this is awesome. For doubles I'd say Fed/Sampras have the upper hand though. Maybe they should also do Fed/Agassi vs Nadal/Sampras, now that would be interesting.

I think this would be a better matchup too but Fed and Sampras are buddies.

So Nadal does not care about his knees at all? Or is he doing this in lieu of practice? That guy is going to seriously suffer if he abuses himself like this. Or else the knee injury story is mostly a fabrication.

Sampras should refuse to play with Agassi because of how he mocked him in his book. Fed and Nadal should refuse to play with Agassi as a statement against drug abuse and cheating the ATP.

Agassi should not be invited at all.

He's doing it for charity .It's only one exho. That's it.

You could argue that he should've skipped Abu Dhabi seeing that he himself was complaining about having to start the season so early and all that.

But I can't see what's wrong with playing a doubles exhibition match for a good cause.

I hope you know that pros taking part in charity events are often paid for their work. The specifics are not revealed. Once in a while, the organizers will make it clear that the pro did not demand payment. I don't know the case here, but people should not automatically assume that pros/celebrities do charity events for free.
