Why even bother with this publicist-written BS she put out today. It 's obvious her people made her endorse their words kicking and screaming. She is an embarrassment to the sport and the country.
Yes, i fully agree. That ignorant and arrogant fat cow should be disqualified long time ago, along with her sister and a racist father.
Tennis has always been a game of mutual respect and honor. People like her get a real bad reputation for American players.

Who cares if she does or doesn't? No one's opinion of her will change. If she seriously doesn't feel contrite, then she shouldn't apologize. If she does then she should. It's completely between her an the lineswoman. I'm really sick of this demanding apologies from people when their actions had nothing to do with you. The apologies are almost never sincere and all about saving face.

I beg to differ. I think she lost a lot of fans. The apology would just be a little way to recover a little dignity but that obviously doesn't mean anything to her. She made it clear she feels no remorse. The fans are what makes these star athletes icons. If it wasn't for fans they wouldn't be able to live the way they do.

Serena is a real class act. Maybe its a result of how she was raised (just look at her parents . . . ). None of the williams have any social grace with the exception of Venus. She at least knows how to restrain her emotions and keep her poise.

I wan't to see Serena apologize just so she has to brew in this as long as possible. I wan't her to suffer with this in hopes that she might eventually feel remorse or regret. Shes a Drama queen who has everything and thinks shes better than everyone else in all aspects. Too bad she once again eludes her way out of this unpunished. A tiny fine that means nothing along her millions.

History has proven time and time again, to hurt the people that show this type of bad behavior is to take away their million dollar sponsors. but i really don't think her sponsors will run away from her. they are greedy and they will stay with her and see how the public reponds in the future...

Serena should do what her conscience tells her to do and should NOT be coerced by us into doing anything she doesn't see fit doing on her own accord. That would be insincere and frankly even more insulting to the official, as if she's doing it to safeguard her sponsorship deals, etc.

Like they say, you can take the girl out of the ghetto but you can't....

Could not agree more. So true. And unfortunatly, now they try to bring Ghetto to tennis courts.
I think we are all forgetting where the game of tennis was born and what it is all about.

There's yelling at line judges, and there's yelling at line judges that you're going to physically harm them (or would if you could, etc.). There's a HUGE difference. The two things are hardly even comparable.

ah yes and that corporate pressure apparently, just in the nick of time before her dubs match, produce just that come to jehovah moment that serena needed to see the error of her ways! ;)

the announcer at the dubs match even mentioned there was some fear that serena might be booed today ....... but there's nobody watching to either boo or cheer ....... and that (like alec baldwin) public pressure squeezed out an apology after all

Ultimately isn't the only person who truly needs to believe the apology the linesperson? And if she accepts it, shouldn't we all just move on?

A review of the issue by the USTA I think, didn't they say she could be fined another $250,000 for her outburst depending on the outcome of a review, with the possibility of a suspension for a time to be determined (if one is warranted).

What about the International Governing body known as the Tennis warehouse Message Board?
