Signum Pro Yellow Jacket vs X-perience

I have wrist problem for the last couple of years and always stick with gut/co-poly hybrid set up at mid low tension. Last month since I ran out of gut and as recommended by my stringer tried the Luxilon Element 17g full bed at 48/45, played so far without any discomfort feeling. The new Yellow Jacket caught my attention and wondering if there is anyone who played both can share some thoughts about these two strings from Signum Pro. Thanks in advance.

Yes, good morning. I used Yellow Jacket 1.22 and X-Perience, I have to say I am a little amazed at both and I can’t decide which one I like the most. Yellow Jacket is of greater durability but it is still soft to the arm and gives me great control. On the other hand X-Perience while I was stringing it I realized it is so soft as a material, but it still kept the tension good, but it is even softer, so I was able to generate more spin. I feel like more pocketing than with any other Co-Poly I’ve used. Both strings don’t need to be hybrids from my point of view. They are soft by them only.
Hope it works as an answer:)

I can't speak for X-perience, but Yellow Jacket is not a soft string. It's got a dampened feel, similar to Head Hawk but not quite as muted, but it definitely isn't a soft string. If you have had problem with injuries, don't use this string. Stiff but dampened/muted strings are dangerous because they are harder to tell when they are harsh on your body. Element is a nice soft string, I would stick with that over Yellow Jacket. But in reality, if I had arm problems, I wouldn't use a full bed of any poly strings.

I had never had a problem in 30 years playing with my arm. Probably when I was 15, but actually I think technique is important for not getting injured from your arm. I had been playing with both Yellow Jacket and X-Perience and they had both felt great. Not the stiffness I see you feel. The X-Perience is even softer, that I can tell:)

I think, this is a guess, that when a string is more flexible, the ball gets a little deeper in the strings and you get a better bite. I saw a video at youtube once about this effect, but I couldn’t fidn it to post it here.
But the strings would also dig into each other and reduce snap back. Softer strings would increase ball pocketing and power, but I've never felt it increases spin to any noticeable amount. The spinniest smooth strings are all fairly hard.

That is why this string is something else. You have to try it to see what I am talking about. The material of it is somthing else

Whats the gauge of X-perience you used? 1.24?
Try 1.18, it's pure butter!!! I'm testing it at the moment in my Phantom Pro 100 at 45/40lbs and it's just so damn good!!! Playing incredibly well and feel so easy on the wrist/elbow/shoulder... Pretty sure I will buy a reel!! (after testing one last string, Kirschbaum Evolution)

I don't see X-perience reels for sale on TW at the moment. I might cut out Solinco Revolution from my racquet just to try this out over the weekend. Still searching for poly to stick with as a full bed (mid 40's in tension) or will just use a full bed of gut if that doesn't work out.

Have you tried YJ/XP or XP/YJ hybrid?

You will love X-perience. Try 1.18 gauge.

I just strung up one racquet after Thanksgiving dinner. 17g (only 16g and 17g are available on TW USA and no reels). 46/44 lbs tension. It feels quite soft and powerful for a poly, just bouncing the ball. It is raining so I cannot hit the courts today.

Yellow Jacket is now my string of choice. 17ga. Very soft feel!!!!!!! No idea what BB is feeling but I’ve played Kevlar and now poly for the past 15 years. I love this string. Switched from Element.

Okay. Here is my feedback on X-perience 17g in a Pure Strike 98 16x19. Strung at 46/44 on a constant pull machine. I strung this up two days before a tournament that I should not have been playing in due to left hip and ankle injuries. Additionally, I was dealing with golfer's elbow tenderness (am out of shape after a two-year layoff & am starting over once again). Yes, I'm loaded with excuses. :) Anyway, hitting completely cold with this in a tournament, I was greatly surprised by the string! My first couple of warmup hits had me thinking "wow! This feels special". It felt pretty awesome! I felt a mix of high but controlled power and it was extremely soft. Spin was very good as well. I was able to blast forehand winners and get some good, powerful kick serves going. I'll blame everything else on "me" and not the string. lol. I did miss some mid-court chances for hitting winners but feel that is because I've had no chance to get this string dialed in and because of my movement and fitness sucking at the moment (very frustrating). Backhand slice was good as well. I also feel this string is good for returns. -Nice, soft pocketing without feeling mushy. Hard to describe. My next steps are to try out X-perience in 16g to see how it compares and to play around with different tensions. I do also have a set of Yellow Jacket 17g (should I bother???). I'd like to add that I had pretty bad golfer's elbow and a lot of tenderness before my match. I felt absolutely ZERO ARM PAIN during my entire match! And I was hitting some hard shots (clean winners). In a nutshell: 1. Very good control/ball pocketing 2. Extra but "controlled" power 3. Very soft and easy on the arm. Think natural gut but with spin. I think my golfer's elbow problems will now go away using this string. I had played for about 30 years using Wilson Pro Staff 85 racquets and later Wilson player sticks. About 4-5 years ago, I briefly tried Babolat Pure Drives with Babolat RPM blast and utterly destroyed my elbow and shoulder. I never had elbow problems before. Last week, I tried Solinco Revolution 17g at 46/44 and it hurt my elbow serving. I cut it out. X-perience didn't aggravate my elbow at all. While X-perience is very soft, I wonder how high in tension I can go or if I'll just stick with the upper 40's? I might try 16g at 46/44 to see what difference there is at the same tension I used for the 17g. I used to primarily play with 16g in the past. Anyway, once reels come out, then I'm buying one. Just not sure if I want 17g or 16g. Time to rehab my body and get in shape for the new season. lol. I was just happy to be on the court to get some practice in before the break. My third match in two years. Now, what the heck do I do will all of my other string sets? :)

I tried 16g X-perience today at 46/44 lbs. Maybe it is the colder weather, 58 degrees vs the 80's over a month ago, making things a little tougher on my joints (getting over hip and ankle issues, and TE) but I prefer the softer 17g at the same tension.

Will this string be good for a gut/poly hybrid? I got a free set of the 16 g and thought of trying it. I don't normally use poly but I thought it might be good in my 93P. I could try a full bed but am hesitant. What do you think?

Hyper G in a thin gauge. I went from Revolution 1.30 to Hyper G 1.15 and love it.

X-Perience 17g would be good. Better than Hyper-G to me as it is much easier on the arm. Feels much better to me overall. Controlled power and consistent feel as well.

I only have the 16ga. Should I string it a little lower? I would probably string the klip gut at 48-50 in that frame so I was thinking maybe around 42 for the x prience crosses?

I tried 16g and 17g X-perience. To me, 17g felt so much better. Amazing how a different gauge can feel like a different string. I also will try 17g Yellow Jacket just because I have a set but will stick with X-Perience

Yes but it is more 1.25 in reality. ;)
Hmm. 17g doesn't seem that much thicker than other 17g to me and plays great. Seems about the same to me. I used to play more with 16g in general and this is not as thick as 16g to me.

I guess it plays more like 17g then. And maybe I didn't like the 16g because it is more like 15g. Anyway, I already purchased 200m and 120m reals. It plays very soft yet crisp with good controlled power as it is in the 17g. Yellow Jacket 17g looks thicker than X-Perience 17g to me though.

The 16G X-perience felt great in my Pro Staff 97S. It felt soft, offered lots of bite and predictable responses. It’s probably one of the softest and best feeling poly I’ve tried. Hoping it gives me more than 8 hours of play time.

Hi Richard,

One of us is a sponsored player from Signum Pro but he's having trouble finding the right string. What's the most stiffest, spin friendly string that Signum Pro offers? His top choice is Solinco's tour bite and he's looking into trying Yellow Jacket or Poly Plasma Extreme a try because of the rumored lower power/stiffer response. Do you have a recommendation?

I personally think Yellow Jacket has a great response for for Spin, Snapback and power, the feeling in Yellow Jacket is stiffer than X-perience, but you will get a great experience with both strings, I see many players are looking for stiffer strings as some companies make stiffer strings, but I am enjoying the extra comfort I get with X-perience, I don't understand why I get more durability when the string is softer in my arm as well. I thought stiffer strings were more durable:) Yellow Jacket is even more durable as well!

Xperience appears to be a 6-sided poly. Do the edges wear off well before it breaks?
It depends how much the strings last for you, if they last too long for you, I strongly recommend using 1.18. If a pro player breaks strings in 2 hours the string doesn't get the edges wear off, but if the strings last months to you, maybe you are using the wrong gauge, use a thinner gauge and get better feeling as well as more spin.

X-perience sounds very similar to Head Lynx 1.25 yellow. Can anyone make a comparison?
I can make a comparison as I have tried both:
Head Lynx is a little stiffer, but not much. The sound in X-perience is so soft, and feeling as well.
You will get way more Spin and Control in X-perience
You will get more Power in Lynx
I would recommend buying a set of each and trying them out:)
