Silicone in the handle

I inserted around 10 grams of silicone in the handle last night. It didn't dry yet even without putting back the butt cap. How long will it take to dry? Should I try with a dryer? Any experience with this?

Thanks

I let mine hang on a wall handle down for about 2 days just to be safe. I don't know that a dryer will help too much. I think the problem is that it is an enclosed space so it dries a little slower. I think I had more than 10g in mine, so it may have taken a bit longer.

I agree just let it dry as it should.

Measuring silicon and other stuff

Curious fellas, how do you measure the weight of the silicon your adding? I tried adding lead inside and is near impossible with all the staples.(postage scale?)

Also, once trapdoor removed where do you add it(both sides of t inside) and how soon do you turn handle side down.

A final question as you guys sound used to tampering with sticks, do you think this will have the same effect as adding leather grip so far as stability and increased plow are concerned.

Thanks

@tigerhoo
I use a digital scale and weight the racquet before adding silicone. Once you inserted a piece of silicone inside the handle, you can slide your lead tape into it.

I can notice it's not dry by inserting a nail. If there is still silicone on the nail, that means it's not dry yet. The dry silicone is also harder.

Are u inserting silicon tube gel or pieces as you suggest and melting them?

Mig, are you using lead tape or weight?

I had two rackets in which I wanted to add 17-20 grams. In the first one, I added a shot of silicone plus a slice of lead tape in it. In the other racquet, I just inserted silicone to get to the desired weight. I could have easily get 20-25 grams (maybe more) just with the silicone.

Mine always dried overnight. How do you know it isn't dry?

I hung mine to dry in the garage. I could tell they were still drying the next morning by the smell. So I just let them hang until the next day and the smell was pretty much gone, and the feel of the silicone was pretty firm.
