Soft but powerful poly?

I struggle with not getting enough power out of a poly, and also the reverse, not hitting poly hard enough to bend it and get it to exhibit some of the characteristics it's best at.

I play doubles so power isn't always foremost. However I'm playing more singles.

Can anyone recommend a poly soft but powerful?

I realise other string-types will give me this but there is just nothing like the bite of poly... I have heard Solinco Tour Bite might be the go...?

I got two answers below, much thanks!

Any others?

Tourna Big Hitter Black 7. Soft and powerful (for a poly at least). It has high spin potential as well.

Try Pro's Pro Red Devil. It has lots of pop and it is pretty soft.

For instance, I've recently been three beds of Wilson RipSpin (bed-hopping!) at about 50 in Spin frames and normal 16x19.

That had great bite and drive and control - but I just couldn't get enough oomph.

Conversely, nylon or syn-gut is mushy, muddy, vague.

But it does have oomph, yet getting enough spin on it is the downside.

I agree technique is king and yet with poly I can keep my whole game inside the lines, it's just not with any real oomph, weird huh.

In this category the best I have found are Kirschbaum Pro Line II, MSV Focus Hex and Signum Pro Hyperion. If you like things a little more crisp then Solinco Tour Bite Soft, Volkl Cyclone Tour and Weiss Cannon Turbo Twist are also good options.

Like the Cyclone Tour - I had in the mains with silverstring crosses - and that was soft and powerful true :) Unsure what full bed would be like....

Just never see Kirschbaum, MSV, Signum in shops. Am into ordering off the internet now anyway.

17 gauge on the soft version, but as I like my spin, depending on the racquet I usually go with 19 gauge (1.10) of the regular version which is a tad stiffer.

If I start feeling pain then I usually go with PLII 1.15 or MSV Focus Hex 1.10

Ordered most of it here at TW with the cheap shipping option for orders less than about $60, good for a couple of packs.

Or do a search and you'll come across the MSV and Signum from a certain worldly Pom site.

The cost is just too high in OZ.

Once it's available in the States - Kirschbaum Max Power.

Holy mother of god, the amount of controllable power is out of this world

Before that, Kirschbaum Pro Line II. Also a very good string in this regard, especially in the slightly thinner gauges.

Hark, for ye to take His Fed's mum's name in vain... :p

Max anything sounds good, add power to that equation and sounds doubly good.

Now finally know a friend with a machine and emboldened to get weird strings into BLX Pro Open fiendish friend.

Solinco Tour Bite Soft, cyclone tour and Polystar energy are all pretty soft and powerful polys

Soft and powerful? Seriously, it ain't poly!

Consider a hybrid, with gut or multi mains and poly crosses, if you REALLY want this combo: Soft/powerful/spin.
