Hi, I have just bought a new Volkl V10-Engine Midplus and had it string using the same string, Prince Synthetic Gut 16 Duraflex, that was on the demo racquet. I didn't know much about string, until I started reading on this board.
I live in Miami, Florida USA where you can play tennis year round. I play mostly on hard court. On groundstroke, I hit more of a flat penetrating shot with just enough spin to guide it to where I want to hit it. I will only use heavy topspin as needed for such things as short cross court angle or passing shot. As for the serve, I hit all three types, but I use a lot of kick serve on the 2nd and occasionally on the first for serve and valley.
I picked the Volkl because it has great comfort, feel and control. I am looking for the same thing in a string or one that compliments this racquet. My previous racquet was an old Wilson Prostaff, over 13+ oz and stiff, and I was getting tire of the stress on my arm.
Please give me a recommendation on the different strings of various price ranges. NoBadMojo, if you are reading this, I included your name in the thread title to get your attention because I know you are using the same racquet and that you are very knowledgable.
