Hey there fellow serve and volleyers out there I think I might purchase this racquet... Volkl Tour 10 V-Engine Midplus Racquet

I've read the reviews, I loved what I saw and this seems the perfect frame for my "volley rampage" lol

Concerning the strings... I need your help on this one, I need some suggestion in what string might be MEANT TO BE with this racquet???
I want my string and frame to be the perfect surgeon's tool!!!

Your help would be much appricated...
Thanks

this racket requires some tinkering with tension; otherwise, the ball will absolutely fly on the volleys. i would recommend a 16 gauge control gut like Legend 16.

natural gut babolat vs?
natural gut federer wilson?

Sorry missed this post...I would not recommend putting Babolat VS gut or Wilson gut in this frame. It has plenty of power already. If you put in VS or Wilson, it not only has the potential to fly on the volleys but ground strokes as well.

samster ty for the reply,
i understand your advice, but what is the ideal or perfect string for me to get for my Volkl 10 VE Midplus??? What string do I NEED to get in order for me to get the MOST volley benefit out of my frame???

I would like know if you still stand by your 16lb suggestion after your string recommendation...

Samster!!! Reply!!! Now!!

Samster!
are you recommending me to get this string?
KLIP Legend Natural Gut 16 String?
KLIP Legend Uncoated Natural Gut 16 String?
Again the ideal tention for what I'm looking for in my racquet is 55lb?

Hello,

I would go with the coated 16 gauge Legend. The uncoated Legend has slightly more pop than the coated. Again, pop is not what you need for the T10 VE MP; the racket generates enough power on its own.

What tension do you usually string your rackets at so I can get a rough idea?

To be brutally honest... I've never understood the tension science. I really go with the recommended tension:(

I apologize if this sound a bit noobish, but this is the truth

I used this racquet a few years ago for about 6 months a few years ago....volleyed very well with Alupower at 57 pounds.
