Cool! The other girls would have fun beating her up on that side till she's 14-15?
It can be done...but it will take a longer time to learn as opposed to the 2hbh. My daughter's doubles partner is a one hander on that wing and is pretty solid for a 12 year old...has a national ranking and is already a 3 star on TRN. In the long term (and if this is your goal) my personal thought on it, is that a 1 hbh will have more variety than a two hander.
Waste of time IMO...
Troll, one handers are a thing of beauty!
Dude...what does her ethnicity have to do with hitting a 1HBH? All which needed to be said is that there is a high ranked girl under-12 using a 1HBH. That's it! PERIOD! The amount of anti-Chinese rhetoric on this site is disgustingly appalling.
Ha, I know, I have one! I'd just not deliberately teach a junior to use a 1hbh - my 14yo son loves trying them but his 2 hander is so much more stable, accurate and powerful. When we play dubs matches together he always plays on the bh side.
Why would you discourage you kid from a one hander? Our two greatest players of all time have one handers.
Funny you mention doubles, best played with a one hander.
