Oooh, haven't seen an overgrip playtest in a while (except for the lux one), hope to see good comparisons to VS original!

I actually just bought this to try out... I'll offer up my review here. Please consider me for the next product review!

  • Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use? => Yes. Yonnex Supergrab
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?) => Not easy to apply. Yes wrinkles, but they don't bother me.
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?) => It was long enough. It was thicker than Yonnex Supergrap but I like it thicker. Feels softer and more plush.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?) => Perfect level of tackiness. My hands don't sweat and it's cold where I live now.
  • Longevity of Tackiness => Quite long. Even after it gets dirty it has very decent tack. Useful life is longe than Wilson Pro and Yonnex Supergrab
  • Level of sweat absorption => Don't know. My hands don't sweat and it's cold right now.
  • Would you consider using this overgrip? => I'm considering completely switching to it!
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance => Useful level of tackiness is far longer than Yonnex Supergrab and Wilson. Very nice when new too. It's not tapered at the starting end but I'm fine with that. Also no tape at the start but I like that. The plastic wrap around a brand new reel is on too tight and impossible to get off without tool though so that's annoying. The finishing tape is also annoying to get separated from the backing. But, the grip itself is top notch. I really like it and will most likely switch.

I've too many overgrips so I'll skip this playtest but I'll surely enjoy reading through the reviews here! I was a user of Tourna Grip for a very long time, never used tourna tac though.

Hi @TW Staff - quick question: is this overgrip similar to Tourna Megatac which is maximum tackiness and very spongy/thick? Or is this overgrip more in line with regular blue Tourna grip Original? Thanks.

I haven't tried Megatac but I think this one falls in the middle, since I didn't find it very thick. It is a bit thicker than Yonex Supergrab and Wilson Pro, but not but a lot. Tackiness is similar when fresh too.

Perfect, thanks. Exactly what I wanted to know.

Woohoo! Got selected. And perfect timing as I'm going to Florida in 2 weeks. Now I'll really get to test this out in humid conditions.

Received my package yesterday and happened to be hitting with a friend in evening. I'm putting up a 'first impressions' post and will update as the playtest continues:

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes. I use Yonex Super Grap.
Was the test grip easy to apply?
Applying it was fairly easy, no wrinkles at all. However... (and these are just nitpicks):
  1. It was a pain to unpackage the grips. There is a top-layer thin plastic outer wrap, and I had to track down a pair of scissors to get it off.
  2. Like all Tournagrip, this has no tapered end. I'm opposite from most as I wrap my grips so I end with the taper, not begin. It makes for a nice neat finish (yes, I'm OCD that way).
  3. A benefit of wrapping the grip as I do is the sticky end is at the top, so I don't have to use tape to keep it in place. I also use the rubber grip bands to finish.
Was it sized appropriately?
Yes, however...

The package says 'XL', but some people may not be aware that Tourna does not make their grips 'XL'. They make them 'XW', meaning 'Extra Wide'. This grip is actually shorter than my Super Grap, but it is noticeably wider. This produces the same result, but the spacing between overlap regions will be greater than with a normal grip. Not a big deal for me, but someone may be bothered by it.

I do a lesser 'Richard Gasquet' thing and wrap around the butt end twice before going up, and I had more than enough to finish. It feels slightly thicker than Super Grap

Level of tackiness
Initial feeling was it is very tacky, more than Super Grap. It was almost too tacky as it prevented me from completing a grip change a few times in the beginning. But that initial tackiness wore off after a few minutes.

The feeling is very reminiscent of the older Gamma Supreme.

Longevity of Tackiness
Indoors: Around 4 hours, or 3 singles matches. At that point, it had lost all its tackiness and had started to come apart in places.

Outdoors: A little less than indoors...around 3 hours. As with indoors, it was also starting to rip & tear in places. It wasn't as hot as normal in south Florida, so the grip didn't get the full McLovin sweat experience, however, I had no issues with slippage during my 2 singles matches.

Level of sweat absorption
Indoors: Pretty good, although its tough to gauge indoors when its 45 degrees outside. I would say it was on par with my normal overgrip (Super Grap).

Outdoors: Again, on par or even slightly better than my normal overgrip, but as stated before, it wasn't nearly as hot & humid as usual. It never felt saturated, as Wilson and Yonex overwraps can feel for me.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
Possibly. I'm not fond of the thickness as I prefer a thinner overwrap. However, I do tinker at times with buying thinner grips on lighter racquets, then building up with a leather and 2 overwraps. In those cases, thicker grips help me get closer to my normal 4 1/2" grip.

Also, the lack of a taper is a bit of a pain, although I rarely change grips on the court, so my only issue is finding a pair of scissors in my house to cut the excess off (are they behind the sofa w/ that missing sock?).

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance:
  • Unlike regular Tournagrip, it is a single-sided grip, meaning you cannot flip it over & use the back side.
  • Since it is only single-sided, the longevity is severely shortened. 3-4 hours is not much in an overwrap. The beauty of original Tournagip is the ability to flip it and use the backside, thereby doubling its lifespan. Would be nice if they could do this for this grip as well.

So far the early feedback on these over grips are right on. The over grips are top grade once you deal with the packaging. I do not enjoy that..

I would have to agree, the packaging was a pain in the butt to get open compared to other brands I have used. Once free of the protective wrapping, they do remind me a lot of the older Gamma Supreme from the 2009/2010 era. Thicker and more robust than Super Grap and Wilson Pro and tackier that both of those grips as well. I put the first one on a freshly strung Prince Tour 98 ESP with a leather grip with little to no issues and the bevels still remain clearly defined.

Play testing begins tomorrow night.

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Tourna Tac XL Overgrip

iFkc8Jg.jpg

Following is my review for Tourna Tac XL overgrip. I received the 3 pack in mail on Thursday. Used one for my hitting session that evening for a couple hours, on Friday for two and half hours, Saturday for an hour of drills, and today (Sunday) morning for practice/drills followed by a long, ardous match (3 hours total). The overgrip is pretty much done and I will be changing it in my next session. Not my usual usage but I played a lot of tennis in last few days. Racquet used was Babolat Pure Storm Tour with Babolat Skinfeel replacement grip.

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes. I always use an overgrip on both synthetic and leather replacement grips. My preferred overgrip is Wilson Pro. Not picky about colors.

Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
Yes, fairly easy as I am used to wrapping overgrips. No wrinkles. I much prefer tapered end on one end though and this was not tapered (like all other Tournas). For Tourna types of grips, I alway cut slightly at an angle for a nice finishing look. Either way, was not that bothersome. Only took me maybe a minute extra to cut the finishing end and apply tape for a flush finishing look.

Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
Yes, it was sized appropriately. It was long enough and was wider than Wilson Pro. Thickness wise, it was thicker than Wilson Pro and Yonex Supergrap both. Comfortable and soft.

Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
Very tacky. More tacky than Wilson Pro. It was more tackier in the beginning when it was fresh (tackiness was more similar to Tourna MegaTac than Wilson Pro). Same soft and spongy feel however. The tackiness became less and less after some vigorous usage.

Longevity of tackiness:
On par with Wilson Pro. White got dirty quicker than usual. I am weird, sometimes I don't sweat but sometimes I sweat buckets - I was sweating a lot last two sessions and maybe thats why it got dirty quicker. I can see it actually wearing out a lot from butt area where base of my palm rubs it. When I am playing aggresive tennis, Wilson Pro lasts about the same too.

Level of sweat absorption:
Pretty decent. I was sweating profusely last night (must be the cold I am trying to get over) and it felt good. Hands remained dry. It did not have the regular Tourna towel level of dryness but still. I played indoors however and real test will be outdoors.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
Sure. If it is offered at a good price point, definitely. It has all the attributes I like and it lasted the same to me as my usual overgrip. Price would be a deciding factor as I buy overgrips in bulk. I can overlook the packaging nuisance.

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance:
1. As mentioned above, one observation I have is that it was more tackier than Wilson Pro - but that became onpar with Wilson after maybe 15-20 mins of usage. After that, it was the same.
2. As some posters mentioned above, packing was a slight pain. The plastic film was hard to get off. If I was on court changing overgrips chances are I would get annoyed and the non tapered ends would bother me. Thankfully I get all my racquets ready before my tennis session at home so not a concern for me.
3. Personal preference but I like individually wrapped overgrips over a roll. Nothing big, but I feel it is less hassle. Just something I am used to. I also like tapered end on one side. I like finishing my grip with that tapered end for a cleaner finish without having to use scissors.
4. Performance wise it lasted me the same time as my usual overgrip (Wilson Pro). For me concern almost always is not the drop in tackiness but the grip actually starts wearing off actually deteriorating.

I would like to conclude my playtest by thanking Tennis Warehouse @TW Staff for giving us equipment freaks chances like these to try out new things. Always much appreciated.

Below is my review of the Tourna Tac XL Over Grip and a big thank you to Tennis Warehouse for choosing me to be on this Playtest!

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
1. Yes -- I use Overgrips on both synthetic and leather grips. My preferred choice is Yonex Supergrap.

Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)

1. Yes -- I did have some wrinkle issues while applying the overgrip because of it not being tapered. Decided to taper it myself which only added a minute or so of time to the install which isn't bad at all.

Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
1. Yes, it ended up being too long for my racket (Prince Textreme 95) so I did have to cut a good amount off. It was thicker than my preferred grips.

Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
1. Tackiness was quite similar to my preferred choice of Supergrap and also Wilson Pro/Prince Durapro. Played indoors (winter time in Michigan still) so I could not see how it did with sweaty palms as much as I would like. Definitely held up for several 2 hour hits this past weekend. Fraying up a bit on the butt cap where my hand is, but similar usage as other over grips.

Longevity of Tackiness

1. So far it has lasted about 6 hours and it is still tacky-ish for me, will update throughout the week to the performance as it ages. Typically after about 10 -15 hours I will need to change my overgrip and it is looking like I will need to change this grip after my next session as it is fraying a bit.

Level of sweat absorption
1. Unfortunately this is inconclusive as I don't sweat too much on my hands, and it is our winter indoor season.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
1. I would if I needed a better value as opposed to Supergrap or Wilson Pro. Performance wise it was very similar to overgrips that I currently use, only negative really is the packaging and tapering of the grip. Basically it would come down to money.

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
1. Positives - Tackyness was great and durability is on par with other premium overgrips. Main concern is fraying early. I won't get too much fraying until tackiness is completely gone on my other grips.
2. Negatives - Packing was a pain and the grip not being tapered was not ideal. With this grip I would need to change it before a hit as trying to change this on changeover would be cumbersome.

Tourna Tac XL White Overgrip
Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Forten Grip (gray and black only)

Was the test grip easy to apply?
  1. Easy to wrap, had wrinkles around the bottom
  2. Thin plastic outer wrap, no issues taking it off , nice a long
  3. Not a fan of no tapered ends .
  4. Finish wrap looked and feel was passable
Was it sized appropriately?
No issues here, added length was great on my extend-ed's

Level of tackiness
Pretty tacky at first, after use it was less tacky, feel was good, tackiness wore off quick
Felt like some volkl grips I had before.

Longevity of Tackiness
Indoors: 30 mins

Outdoors: (new england - too cold yet)

Level of sweat absorption
Indoors: Very Good

Outdoors: (new england - again cold)

Would you consider using this overgrip?
Depends on the price / 10 for 3 mostly not / do not like white grips

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance:
  • Nices: looks great fresh, feels great but for a short time
  • White gets dingy fast, could be a bit thicker to prevent wrinkles, tackiness wore out quicker that expected.
  • I prefer single rolls or in bulk a 12 roller
Used on all three of my extended Angells (x3), one match and they all need to be replaced, I am very tough on grips.

Thanks to Tourna & TW for letting me on this playtest.
Kudos to the great TW staff!

Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Tourna Tac XL Overgrip

· Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes, Typically I use Solinco wonder overgrip.

· Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)

Grip was very easy and I was able to pull very hard and not worry about the grip stretching or warping at all which was awesome for me. It kept its shape even when I unwrapped and stretched it again. (No wrinkles)

· Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)

As other playtesters have mentioned, the grip is not longer, but wider which does add to length when applying. I anticipated maybe an inch longer but with the Tourna Tac XL I could wrap it up the throat of my racquets like Xavier Malisse. The difference is significant, about 1.5 to 2 inches longer than my regular grip.

Thickness was very good, a little thicker than my Solinco grip but no complaints. The thickness did not hinder or change how I felt the grip during my hitting experience.

· Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)

Tackiness was very strong at first, my hand was sticking to the grip and it was a little hard to switch from forehand to backhand grip. But after 30 minutes of hitting it was easier to maneuver between grip changes.
(Hitting in Texas, 81 degrees today.)

· Longevity of Tackiness

As stated above the grip was very tacky for the first 30 minutes but after about 3 hours of hitting there were no issues with slipping. Grip is still tacky and in good shape.

· Level of sweat absorption

Sweat absorption was good. I did not feel the grip soaked or slipping from sweat. I was very pleased with the tackiness throughout my hitting sessions.

· Would you consider using this overgrip?

I would consider using this grip. I have been using Solinco for the past 2 years but this maybe a great replacement for anyone who likes the extra length for a two-handed backhand.

· List any additional thoughts on the overall performance

I like the fact that the grip has no tapered side, because I usually flip the grip upside down once the bottom gets too dirty. My Solinco grip has a tapered side which takes a little bit to get used to when I flip, but with the Tourna Tac XL I will not have this issue.

I do prefer white overgrips, so it was a plus for me personally.

The only downside was after 3 hours of hitting the grip did start to tear a bit, not a big tear but I can usually get a couple more hitting sessions with my usual grip before I notice tearing.
This is not a deal breaker as it did not affect playing/hitting, but just an observation.

Again, Thanks to TW for this playtest! And to Tourna!

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes. Currently using Yonex Super Grap, and prior to that Solinco Wonder Grip.

Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
Given how wide and thick this overgrip is, and the fact that there is no tapered end, I did have issues with wrinkling at the buttcap. I ended up cutting a taper myself with scissors, obviously not as clean as if it were tapered from the factory, and I still had a little bit of wrinkling. I appreciate there that there is no adhesive, since I feel like there is no need and ultimately it just ruins my original grip, but I would like there to be a taper. Also, if I’m purchasing a 3 pack of overgrips, I’d prefer them to be individualized rather than in a roll.

Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
I thought XL meant extra long, but really it was wider rather than longer. I don’t mind the width, though I think it makes wrapping near the buttcap more difficult to do cleanly. I had plenty of excess left on a Prince 1/2 grip, more so than my Yonex Super Grap (which always has extra), and certainly more than the Solinco (which just barely covers an entire grip). It is also thicker and more rubbery than the other two, which I didn’t care for since it made the grip on my main racket a little bigger than I like. However, the thickness actually comes in handy using it on my 3/8 racket.

Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
Fresh it was super tacky, actually too tacky. It was a little uncomfortable on my hand because it was kind of ripping at my skin. Fortunately, that level of tackiness quickly wore off within the first 20 minutes, and it settled into a tackiness level more in line with what I’m accustomed to. Though I did notice it also felt super tacky for the first 5 minutes of my second outing with it. Definitely no racket slippage, and after the initial “break in” still comfy and easy to change my grip for various shots.

Longevity of Tackiness
Though the initial “super” tackiness quickly wore off, it then gradually declined in tackiness at essentially the same rate as my other tacky overgrips. But as it started at a higher tackiness level, it also seemed to maintain a tackier feel as it declined, until the tackiness level fell off of a cliff (which many tacky overgrips tend to do) after multiple outings. It doesn’t touch the longevity, consistency, and durability of the Tecnifibre ATP Pro Player overgrips I’ve recently tried out. And overall it does seem less durable, as it started to show some wear and tear relatively early compared to the others.

Level of sweat absorption
It’s still cool and dry here, and I’m not a huge sweater, so it’s tough to rate it in this category. However, I did spill a little water on it from my water bottle, and it didn’t become super slippery as some other overgrips have when I’ve done that.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
The lack of taper is a deal breaker for me. Either I’d be dealing with wrinkling at the buttcap or having to cut the taper myself, neither of which I want to deal with, particularly in the middle of a match. Plus it is a bit thicker than I prefer. I think Tourna should join the new millennium and taper this grip; I could be in the minority on this point, but I feel like this would be the general consensus.

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
If you like tacky, thick, and rubbery, and need a long/wide grip for an extended length handle, this could be your ticket.

Thanks to TW for the opportunity!

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes, I've used Wilson Pro Overgrip pretty much my entire playing career and haven't found a reason to switch. I've tried the Yonex overgrip and regular Tourna Grip which I like, but not more than Wilson Pro.

Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
As others have said, just opening the grip to is a huge pain due to the tightly wrapped plastic on the grip reel. I didn't have any tools to help me peel the plastic off so I actually had to push out the core of the grip roll in order to get the grips off. As usual for me, the lack of a tapered and sticky end made the grip difficult to apply for me. Due to the extra wide size of the grip and lack of taper, it was impossible for me to get the grip to lay down nicely and without wrinkles. The wrinkles were unnoticeable in my hand anyway so not a big deal.

Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
I originally didn't realize how wide the grip was so it appeared a bit short at first glance. As long as I wrapped with extra spacing it was able to make it all the way to the top of my standard length rackets. I play with a one-handed backhand and usually wrap extra around my buttcap so it's not necessary for my grips to make it all the way to the top.

Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
Tackiness was comparable to Wilson Pro Overgrip, might just be a tad bit tackier which I don't mind.

Longevity of Tackiness
I've played 5 times with this grip and haven't noticed any significant decline in tackiness, the grip still feels pretty new other than some slight tearing. Durability seems pretty solid on the grip.

Level of sweat absorption
I'm playing in cool and dry conditions, although I am a big sweater and sweat does tend to drip on my overgrips at times. I didn't notice any problems with sweat absorption with this grip

Would you consider using this overgrip?
I like playing with this grip but it is just too much of a pain to open and apply. I've always played with Wilson pro, and especially like how they eventually started packaging their grips individually which made it a lot easier to apply as well. Strictly speaking in terms of grip performance, I would play with this anytime though.

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
Great grip as long as you don't mind the lack of tapered and sticky end.

Thank you for selecting me to take part in this playtest.

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
I have only used Wilson Pro and YY Super Grap. I won't include the green and blue gauze I used as a junior in the late 70s and early 80s.

Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
I wasn't bothered by the packaging. I have applied other Tourna over grips in my capacity as a Pro Shop employee and these were no different from other Tourna products. I would have like the features I get in my usual over grips, tapering and a sticky end. I had difficulty with the application of the grip. It wrinkled at the butt of my racquet and I am not a fan of the width, although those with a longer grip may like it.

Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
I felt like it was a touch shorter than Super Grap and Wilson Pro. Those have more stretch. The Tourna...little to no stretch. Although it did fit my HEAD Mid and a DR100, I didn't like the feel and changed them out after a few sets. Not only too wide, but a little thicker than I am use to.

Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
I wrapped one racquet with a drier side and the there with a more tackier side. I found the dry side boring, mostly useless in the midday heat. The tacky side as a little better, but the moisture felt like it just accumulated on the grip and by the second set I was going to a tacky lotion.

Longevity of Tackiness
After four sets, tackiness was replace by wet mush. Can't give high marks for longevity.

Level of sweat absorption
It was unseasonably hot the days I used the Tourna over grips. On a scale of 1-5 with 5 representing the absorption level of my usual grip and 1 representing no overgrip, I would give these a 3. Not great, but better than nothing.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
I would not consider changing from my Wilson Pro and Super Grap rotation. I like their tackiness and their durability. I can't skimp on an overgrip. I use different colors as I test different string setups.

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
i can't think of anything to write here. I guess some will like its price point, if it is lower than Wilson Pro?

Do you typically use an overgrip?
Most of the year I don’t use an overgrip; I like the feel of my leather Volkl grips. However, there are two conditions under which I use overgrips. During really hot, humid times in the summer I use Volkl V-Dry. During the indoor season when the air is really dry I use Volkl SuperPerf.

Was the test grip easy to apply?
The three overgrips received were rolled together into one big roll as opposed to three separate rolls. The packaging was difficult to open; I had to find a scissors to cut off the thin plastic encasing the overgrips. The top overgrip in the roll was really wrinkly, but I was able to stretch it out a bit. I kept the overgrip taut while wrapping it on the racquet so I was able to get out most of the wrinkles. The edges of the overgrip are not are not tapered, and curiously, there are four pinholes on each end of the overgrip. I can’t figure out what purpose the pinholes serve. I wrapped on the overgrip without tapering the end which caused a bit of bulkiness in the overgrip. I would definitely taper it if I were to use the overgrip again. It should be noted that the red finishing tape has a really strong adhesive on it. It’s important to put the tape on the way you like it the first time because it’s very difficult to remove the tape and then reapply it.

Was it sized appropriately?
The overgrip is more than long enough for regular length racquets. My racquet is standard length and I like a bit of overlap on my overgrips. After wrapping it on the racquet I had five inches of overgrip remaining. I was hoping that the overgrip would be thinner. Tourna Tac XL seems to be a little bit thicker than Volkl SuperPerf.

Level of tackiness:
At first the overgrip seemed a little too tacky as it was a bit difficult to switch between different grips during the course of a point. The tackiness wore down over the space of one match to a level that worked well for me.

Longevity of tackiness:
The level of tackiness lasted about ten hours and then the grip started losing tackiness and became somewhat smooth.

Level of sweat absorption:
I don’t sweat that much during winter indoor tennis for this to be an issue. I also wear wristbands which absorb whatever sweat there is. To be fair, the literature on the back of the package suggests that Tourna Tac is for cool non-humid conditions. I think that this overgrip is designed for dry conditions where players don’t sweat as much as they would during a hot, humid summer.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
The overgrip is a bit too thick for me. Also, I’m not a fan of the white color as it shows dirt almost immediately. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but if someone asked me if it was a good buy I would say yes.

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance:
This is a good overgrip for dry, cool conditions and it retains its tackiness well. As it is a bit thick, I would especially recommend it to anyone who wanted to beef up their grip size a bit.

Thanks to Tourna Tac and Tennis Warehouse for this playtest!

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
I always use over grips for my racquets. I tried variety ones from Babolat, Donnay, Dunlop, Gamma, Head, Solinco, Tecnifibre, Wilson, and Yonex. I use currently Wilson Pro Overgrip (white) and previously Yonex Super Grap (white).

Was the test grip easy to apply?
I spent time to figure out unpacking the thin plastic outer wraps. Without an adhesive tapered end, it easily got some wrinkles at the buttcap area from beginning of installation.

Was it sized appropriately?
Because of named “XL”, I thought its length is much longer than Wilson’s but it is about the same. It is 1/8” wider and a little bit thicker than Wilson’s.

Level of tackiness?
The level of tackiness was super high when initially installed. It did stick too much uncomfortably on my hand.

Longevity of Tackiness
Its initial super tackiness quickly became decreased after a couple hours of play. I found the sign of wear and tear after four hours of play.

Level of sweat absorption
I confidently couldn’t measure its level of sweat absorption in winter but this overgrip is for tackiness, not for sweat absorption. Usually tackiness and sweat absorption don’t come together.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
No, I will stick to my current choice because I don’t like getting wrinkles due to the lack of tapered end. Plus, I don’t like its initial super tackiness feel and its durability is not better even though its layer is thicker than Wilson’s.

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
Tourna Tac Overgrip is for you if you like a tacky, wide and thick over grip.

The grip was not tapered at either end. I cut the end to help complete a nice clean install. I installed the over grip 1st with out tapering the end and
the grip did not really lay know nicely. The feel of my over grip is very important to me so I did cut the grip at the beginning end and then also when I was ready to install the finish tape. This would be an issue if I was on a change over and needed to install this over grip. The packaging was a major pain in the butt to deal with also. I few of the play testers above also have mentioned this.
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
The over grip was long enough and I had to trim the end to get a nice clean install... This is normal.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
I was very happy with the level of tackiness. Just right for me. I only tested in cool conditions.. indoors and a bit outdoors. I live in the northeast. in the cool weather at times..overgrips get slick.. these worked great.
  • Longevity of Tackiness
Again, the Longevity was great. This a very nice quality over grip as most of the products I have used over the years from Tourna.. :)
  • Level of sweat absorption
Hard to tell for me.... since I did not sweat at all in the cool conditions.
  • Would you consider using this overgrip?
I would if the packaging was not such a pain to deal with..
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
Once you got the packaging squared away and cutting the leading edge.. the over grip is a winner IMHO. The price point is there as with most
Tourna products as is the product. Again.. the packaging was not good..

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
I always use an overgrip usually Wilson Pro(white). I recently bought a ton of Pro's Pro because they were super cheap but I have not used them extensively enough to compare.

Was the test grip easy to apply?
Again to echo everyones else here the packaging to get to the grips is a pain in the @SS!! Aside from this also like others said it is not tapered at the end, which I actually liked because I build up my butt caps. There was some wrinkles but not enough to bother me. Also this grip has little to no stretch to it and neither does the finishing tape, not a deal breaker for me but for some it may be.

Was it sized appropriately?
I would say the size was just right.

Level of tackiness?
The level of tack was outstanding when new, almost too tacky!

Longevity of Tackiness

Again as others have mentioned it wasn't really hot when I've been using this so take that into account, but it maintains it's tack very well better than the Wilson Pro which kind of softens up quickly. The Tourna is more rubbery feeling but also doesn't get dirty as fast as Wilson.

Level of sweat absorption?
So sweat absorption also tough to gauge because of the cold weather, I am a pretty heavy sweat-er and this grip held up fine in that regard.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
I actually would consider using this over grip, as soon as I get through this 60pack of Pros Pro(depending on how they play) I would choose this grip over Wilson pro for sure!

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
Tourna Tac Overgrip is a great option for those who like very tacky grips and I was impressed with how durable it is and that it doesn't show dirt as quickly as Wilson, and I play on very dirty public courts!

Thank you to TW and Tourna for this great opportunity!

  • Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
My current overgrip of choice is the Kimony Hi-Soft EX perforated. Prior to switching to Kimony, I was using Yonex Super Grap for a few years after Gamma changed up the Gamma Supreme. I loved the old Gamma Supremes and the Kimony is the only overgrip I have found that replicates it’s qualities.
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
The Tourna Tac overgrip was relatively easy to apply. It is a bit different in that it does not have a tapered end to assist starting the wrap, but it presented no difficulties in getting the wrap started. I did get a few small wrinkles in the transition from the butt cap to the handle, but every overgrip I have used has the same issue so it is not a problem nor does it impact playability. Once I transitioned from the butt cap, Tourna Tac was one of the easier overgrips to install. It laid down easily and did not have a lot of stretch to it (unlike Super Grap which is incredibly stretchy) which made it easy to maintain a consistant width while wrapping the handle.
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
The Tourna Tac overgrip was sized perfectly for my needs. It was long enough to cover my entire handle with enough excess that I could cut a taper on the top end and still have grip left over. Compared to my current grip of choice, Kimony, I ended up with a few more inches of excess grip when installing on my Prince Tour 98 ESP’s. The Tourna Tac grip is thicker than either Yonex Super Grap or Wilson Pro, but it is very similar in thickness the old Gamma Supreme and the Kimony Hi-Soft EX which I prefer. Even with its thickness, the bevels of my leather wrapped handle were very well defined. Of the thicker overgrips I have used, the Tourna Tac defined the bevels better than either Kimony or Gamma Supreme.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
The initial level of tackiness of the Tourna Tac overgrip was awesome! I love extremely tacki grips I was very impressed with the Tourna Tac at the start of the Playtest. The tackiness level did drop after my first session with the overgrip, but it was still relatively tacki and acceptable for continued use. Comparing it to my other overgrips, it was not as tacki as the Gamma or Kimony after the initial tackiness wore off and offered a similar level of tackiness as Super Grap. Throughout the playtest I did not experience any slippage or have any issues adjusting my grip during play.
  • Longevity of Tackiness
I was a bit disappointed in the initial drop in tackiness after my first session with the overgrip, bit after that initial drop it remained relatively tacki throughout the remainder of the play test. I have about 15 hours of playtesting time on a single Tourna Tac overgrip and it is still performing as well as it did after the initial tackiness drop and is showing no signs of significant wear. I normally get about 20 to 25 hours out of my Kimony grips, and judging from the current condition of the Tourna Tac overgrip, I would expect it to last a similar length of time. It definitely outlasts Super Grap which I would normally have to replace at the 10 to 15 hour time frame due to loss of tackiness or significant wear.
  • Level of sweat absorption
My hands stay relatively dry even on the hot and humid days of the summer so I normally do not have to worry about sweat absorption. The Tourna Tac grip never showed any signs of saturation so it absorbed everything I threw at it. It worked perfectly for me.
  • Would you consider using this overgrip?
I would definitely consider using Tourna Tac in the future as it performed really well during the Playtest and has many of the qualities that I look for in an overgrip. I prefer tacki overgrips that are long lasting and the Tourna Tac is definitely in that category. While it probably will not replace my current overgrip of choice (Kimony Hi-Soft EX) I would definitely put Tourna Tac ahead of Super Grap and Wilson Pro on my list.
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
I did have some issues with the packaging the overgrips came in and had to resort to using a sharp object to free the grips from the protective plastic. I was afraid that I would damage the grips during extraction as they were wrapped so tightly, but was fortunate not to do so.

The best thing I can say about the Tourna Tac overgrips is that I never noticed them during the course of play. Their performance and comfort level were so good that I never once had to worry about them effecting my game. I never experienced slippage or had a problem rotating my grip on the court in the heat of battle. I feel confident that if I were to switch to Tourna Tac overgrips I would be ale to so without any adjustment period.

After further reflection and some research on the Tourna web site, I ordered a 10 pack of Tourna Mega Tac to see how it compares to my current grip of choice, Kimony Hi-Soft EX. I really enjoyed the Playtest on the Tourna Tac other than its initial loss of tackiness. If the Mega Tac can keep the tackiness level up and display the same qualities and durability of the Tourna Tac, I may soon have a new overgrip of choice.

Currently using whats left of my 10 pack of Tourna Mega Tac in black (which is actually more grey than black). You will be pleasantly surprised by the tackiness and durability. The tackiness level stays forever! Non tapered ends is a bummer for me but not a bad overgrip at all.

  • Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes, Yonex Super Grap.
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
No, I found wrinkles at the beginning of the wrap, since the overgrip wasn't tapered. Therefore, I had to get a scissor and cut the end of the overgrip with an angle. It was then easy to install and it laid down nicely. I'm just very used to wrapping with a tapered overgrip.
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
Yes, I use 27.5 inch long tennis racquet and the overgrip was long enough to wrap the whole grip. This grip was slightly shorter and thicker than Yonex Super Grap, but a bit wider, which wasn't that bad.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
10/10 on tackiness, felt similar to Yonex Super Grap. I play with relaxed hand on the grip, but had no slippage.
  • Longevity of Tackiness
After 2 days, about 4.5 hours of hitting, it started to show minimal fraying and less tackiness.
  • Level of sweat absorption
10/10 on sweat absorption, I didn't have any slippage during the 3 set match. I have pretty dry hands and it's been around 55 degree F where I live.
  • Would you consider using this overgrip?
No, I prefer using thinner and tapered overgrip, I wouldn't keep a scissor inside my tennis bag. Yonex Super Grap is still the best overgrip I've used.
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
Tourna Tac XL Overgrip is an excellent grip. I would recommend this grip to any players looking for solid tackiness and sweat absorption that also prefers untapered end.

The non-tapered end did not bother me. I normally self taper the top end (as I like a clean finishing look) using scissors on a Swiss Army Knife I keep in my bag, so I guess I could do the same for the starting end. As it’s hidden under the successive wraps I do not think it will be an issue for me.

Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes, regular blue Tourna Grip for the warmer weather (most of the year here in NC). In the colder weather, when sweaty hands are not a problem, I usually switch to Wilson Pro overgrip.

Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
Yes, no problems or wrinkles in putting it on.

Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
Yes, thankfully wider than regular-size blue Tournagrip, so it easily covers my grip all the way up. Thickness was OK.

Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
Very nice non-slip tack when new. Perfect for the cooler weather when my hands are dry.

Longevity of Tackiness
I played five sets over a couple of matches with one grip and the tackiness definitely had faded a bit. It's relatively cold now, so it didn’t get slippery on me, but it wasn’t sticking to my hand like when new. Still, not too bad at all.

Level of sweat absorption
Playing outdoors, sweat is not really a problem this time of year, so I can’t say my hands got wet enough to really test out any absorption.

Would you consider using this overgrip?
I absolutely would use this in the winter months when my hands are keeping dry. In the warmer weather when my hands are sweaty, I’m still sold on regular blue TournaGrip for the absorbency and not-slippery-when-wet factor. I don’t care if this Tourna-Tac is absorbent or not – the dry tackiness is perfect for cold weather play. It’s similar to Wilson Pro, but I think I like the Tourna-Tac feel a little better. If you shipped this grip in the summertime for a playtest, I might think differently, but for this time of the year it was great.

List any additional thoughts on the overall performance.
No problem about the lack of a taper or a sticky starting point for me. My previous experience with blue TournaGrip makes this a total non-issue.

  • Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes, my overgrip of choice is the Wilson Pro Overgrip.
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
It was pretty easy to apply but not as easy as my normal grip. The Tourna grip was a little stiffer and therefore harder to wrap around without getting major wrinkles. The non tapered ends also make starting and finishing a little more difficult but nothing I couldn't handle. The toughest part of installing the grip was actually getting it out of the plastic wrapping!
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
Yes, it was sized appropriately. It was plenty long enough for the two handed grip on my Pure Drive Plus and the thickness felt about the same as the wilson pro grip, which is perfect.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
The grip was very tacky. More so than my usual overgrip. I wasn't used to the extra tackiness at first but after a set, I grew accustomed to it and was no longer getting slowed during grip changes.
  • Longevity of Tackiness
The longevity of tackiness was about the same as the Wilson Pro. After 3 outings, the grip would be dirty enough and lose tackiness to where I would want another one. So equivalent to my usual.

  • Level of sweat absorption
Not that great on level of absorption. I have pretty sweaty hands and my usual grips were better here.
  • Would you consider using this overgrip?
I would not consider this overgrip as I feel that my usual grip does everything just a little bit better.
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
Overall, I am pleased with the performance of this overgrip. It does many things well and actually beats out my usual in tackiness but my original grip does everything else just a little better.

Thanks TW for allowing me to test these overgrips. You guys rock!

Review of Tourna Tac XL Overgrip
==============================

  • Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Yes. Always use overgrips. Most of the overgrips are OK for me as long as they are not extreme thin or extreme tacky or extreme in some other specs. Currently using Volkl V-Tac since I had stocked up a lot of them.
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
Yes. It was easy to apply. But having a tapered starting end is a preference for me, if I have a choice. Obviously I can cut it to make the end tapered, and not an issue when doing it at home. But when you are doing it in the court, you may not have a scissor handy, and trying to wrap it in a hurry, more chance to create uneven starting without a tapered starting end. Other than that, it was easy to apply and created an even surface on grip, no wrinkles.
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
Yes it was just enough, and right length. No excess, and not short, just right. Thickness wise it is a not a thin overgrip, but I like that softness. So excellent for me.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
Just enough tackiness. Not too much and not too less. Again on an overgrip the only way I will be unhappy about tackiness is if it is towards one end of the spectrum. Tourna Tac XL feels good on hands and provide enough tackiness, but at the same time, allow the racket to move around to generate racket head speed on serves and strokes.
  • Longevity of Tackiness
This was a tricky experiment for me. I never measured longevity of tackiness on other overgrips, and so I was not sure what to expect. My palms are not super sweaty, and it is not yet summer time. Summer/super sweaty weather is where the tests for tackiness are really valid. But I did not notice any lack of tackiness even after two weeks of continuous use. Also I changed to a new one just to see the difference, and even though the new one feels fresh and softer on hands, there does not seem to have much difference in tackiness. So I my word is that the longevity of tackiness is very good. Let the summer begin, and maybe I can check that again.
  • Level of sweat absorption
Again since it is not too sweaty weather yet, I don’t think I gave it enough of a challenge. But there was absolutely no slipping issues from sweat, and it seems to absorb it pretty good. Also it kept the grip dry. I know that some other grips, even though absorbs sweat good initially, can actually hit the limit pretty soon, and I felt like Tourna Tac XL will hold well for a 2 hr match even on a sweaty humid summer day, and will dry out quickly after the match.
  • Would you consider using this overgrip?
Yes. Price is one of the main factor for me, since I go through overgrips a lot.
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
Very good performing overgrip, which meets the need of most players. One thing which I wont be able to test is how long it can hold its properties when stocked. I know that many of us just stock too many overgrips, to be handy when needed. I always related “tourna grip” to that blue color, and refreshing to see a different color. About packaging, I prefer individual wraps, but not a big deal. Should consider tapered starting ends.

BTW used a Babolat Pure Drive for this, standard length.
  • Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
Babolat VS Original
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
Yes, pretty easy to install. The overgrip is very wide, and it allows you to install it with a lot left over. Plenty for extended length racquets too.
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
Compared to VS, it was similar in thickness. The tourna is a bit thicker, but it is not a big difference.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
Since I use VS, I like the dry feel of overgrips. However, I did enjoy using this tacky type of overgrip. At first, it was like glue on my hands lol, it would stick to my hands! But after some use, it toned down a bit. I actually like the feel of it, and it helped me keep a tight grip in dry, cool conditions during hitting sessions. I would consider using this in the winter.
  • Longevity of Tackiness
The tackiness lasts pretty long, and I've played about 15 hours on each one. It doesn't lose its tack completely after the 15 hours, but it just feels mushy because of the sweat and grime it absorbs.
  • Level of sweat absorption
Since it's in freezing temps in Missouri, my hands didn't sweat that much. But, I tried putting some mist on it with a small sprayer. When new, it absorbs it well, but after some use, it does leave some water on the surface of the overgrip. With my use of these overgrips, they did become mushy by the time the 15 hours were up.
  • Would you consider using this overgrip?
I would use this, just in very dry and cold, winter seasons. In the summer, I think the tackiness would be a big nuisance for me.
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
I think this would be a great overgrip for anybody that likes tacky overgrips. It keeps its tack for an acceptable amount of time, and it is actually very good at keeping the white color. I always use black overgrips, but when I do use white VS ones, they stain very quickly and become mucky and disgusting. However, this one keeps its white color for a long time, and looks very clean compared to others. This overgrip also has some cushion, so it is a comfortable one too. Overall, a great overgrip and playtest! Thanks @TW Staff and Tourna for the experience!

    • Tourna Tournatac BLUE XL
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
    • Installation was fine. I have been using this OG often so I am used to having a non-tapered end. I don’t mind it not having an adhesive portion since I don’t remove the backing on overgrips that have it anyways. At times I will play with a bare leather grip and the adhesive leaves mark. On synthetic grips it also wears and accelerates break down of the base grip.
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
    • It was size appropriately for my racquets. I measured the play test sample against my personal stock in the blue color. It came out that the sample was 5” longer than the blue I had. I ordered the 30 pack of the blue and verified it was the XL package. I wonder if it was a batch error, 3 pack vs the 30 pack differs, or if the white and blue come in different sizes by chance. The thickness of this grip I would say is on the thicker side of OGs and would like to see a thin tacky grip for when I have a racquet with a larger grip.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
    • This was very similar to the blue grip. I did not mind the level of tackiness but can guess some people might not light it when it is freshly wrapped
  • Longevity of Tackiness
    • The tackiness seemed to last a long time. It is not a very warm time of the year so it is hard to really compare it to the Blue grip. I would comfortably say that the tackiness level would last a long time before any rips or shredding of the grip declined
  • Level of sweat absorption
    • I feel this is a good grip for absorption. Warmer climate/time of the year will be able to put this to the test and I think it will pass just fine
  • Would you consider using this overgrip?
    • Yes
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
    • The 30 pack which has 3 rolls of 10 over grips has a similar plastic wrap holding it together. It was not difficult to remove the outer wrap from the roll. The 3 pack received in the play test was a different story. It was annoying to remove the plastic outer wrap holding the roll together. Once that was removed, the thin film on the grip was easy to remove.
    • The white color was very nice but as we all know, light colored items just look older and more worn. That would be a visual knock on the color. The blue would seem to hold up color degradation better. All the same I replace my OGs as performance lessens
    • I would like to see a thin version of a tacky grip
    • Thank you to Tennis Warehouse as well as to Tourna

Interesting, I just recieved a 10 roll of Blue Mega Tac XL today in the mail and also came up shorter than the Tourna Tac XL 3 roll. While I did not measure it, it looks to be a similar length shorter based on remaining grip trimmed off the end.

  • Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use? Yes, I usually use the yonex super grab, or the Solinco wondergrip
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?) Yes the overgrip was fairly average to install. No real issues
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?) For me, it was the perfect length. I will say it is slightly thicker than the yonex super grab and about same thickness as the wonder from Solinco. It is thicker than the average grip but not by much
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?) It was definitely tackier than the regular blue tournament grips. I would say it is in between a blue regular tourna and Solinco wondergrab in terms of tack, with it leaning more into the tack side
  • Longevity of Tackiness. This is probably it’s only downfall, the grip doesn’t last too long with its initial tackiness, but once it “breaks in”, it does last way longer than the super grab.
  • Level of sweat absorption. There wasn’t too much sweat absorption, not even close to the blue original tournas. It was a little below average in my opinion, but my hands do not sweat very much so it fits me very well
  • Would you consider using this overgrip? Yes, in fact it is probably a toned down version of the Solinco wonder grip. Only thing that would hinder me is the price of a 30 pack, but the grip itself could cater towards those wanting a tackier grip with just a bit of sweat absorption
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance. Overall, I really enjoyed this play test. There have been some overgrips out there that cater more towards sweaty hands and less tackiness, where here I feel it caters for the opposite. It has more tackiness than sweat absorption, which I love.
Thanks TW for the chance to play test this product!!!

Sorry Tennis Warehouse for the late reply! The package arrived late and I forgot where to find this thread (was not getting notifications for some reason). I was planning on writing an extensive review, but forgot to submit the initial one by the deadline.
  • Do you typically use an overgrip? If yes, which one do you use?
    • I normally use the Tourna Tournatac BLUE XL. It's a really solid overgrip! It is very durable and were it wears down I don't mind continue using it for up to another 15+ hours.
  • Was the test grip easy to apply (any wrinkles during install, did the grip lay down nicely?)
    • I thought the installation was fairly easy. I found the experience easier compared to installing the Blue Tournatac. There were no wrinkles when I did my first attempt. The backside provided a nice smooth surface to continue stacking the grip over the racket handle. Although the grip is fairly thick, it contorted well along the handle without forming wrinkles as a result of tension.
  • Was it sized appropriately (e.g., was it long enough? Too thick/Thin?)
    • The size was good. In fact compared to the normal Tournatac BLUE XL I have about an extra half inch making it better for overlapping to ensure a nice plus feel.
  • Level of tackiness (did your hand stick/slip too much?)
    • I think the tackiness is better than the BLUE XL. The BLUE XL promotes durability and consistent performance. Having the blue dye makes it less susceptible to wearing down. The white iteration is a big step up. It is somewhere in between the lines of the BLUE XL and the Wilson White Pro Overgrip.
  • Longevity of Tackiness
    • The tackiness seems to be like the WIlson White Pro Overgrip. Regarding the longevity, it is hard to say given how long I have had using it. I've yet to use it in the hot afternoon, so that will play a major factor. I plan on extending this review further so TBA.
  • Level of sweat absorption
    • I think this would be a great grip for hot days, and it is even greater if you are only playing in the cold where sweat is not an issue.
  • Would you consider using this overgrip?
    • Without a doubt! It's so far been solid. In terms of performance on match days, this is the ideal grip to use do to its middle-of-the-line feel.
  • List any additional thoughts on the overall performance
    • I felt the packaging is a lot better compared to the BLUE XL rolls I have had in the past. Those required me to peel a foot of 3 to 4 inches from the seceding grip on the roll. It was really confusing and I'm glad the white grip's playtest package was more convenient. But maybe I am just more experiences to taking off grips!
    • Thank you so much Tennis Warehouse and Tournatac! The last 20 grips I've used are BLUE XL so it was a nice slight change in the mix of things. Sorry again for the late reply. I hope to extend this review for the future members on this forum to see.

I was part of this Tourna Tac playtest. The white color grips feel similar to the Wilson Pro Overgrip and tackier than the blue colored Tourna Tac grips, but I prefer these white Tourna Tac the most. After testing the Tourna Tac grips for hitting sessions during hot weather, I found that they stay fresh longer than the other two. From my experience and unless you hit on dusty court surfaces, the grips should stay relatively clean for at least 5-10 hours (4 sessions). I have had some Wilson overgrips turn dark grey in 2 hours!

They held up well. And even when the tackiness is lost, they have a nice feel/texture. It feels as if you are touching a smooth handle I recall using the grips on racquets with different original grip sizes. For a racquet 4 1/8 (built up with some overgrips in between the Tourna Tac), the Tourna Tac Grip lasted 20 sessions before tearing. The racquet 4 3/8 lasted about 15 sessions before peeling and now has deep gashes. Overall, I think if you are playing matches the White Tourna Tac is preferred over the Blue Tourna Tac.

Hope that helps!
