Thank you Murray, for showing us who you really are!

I'm now reassured again that I've always been right when I say Big 3 >>>> Murray.

As we all see in today's match, Murray realized that he just couldnt pretend to be an actual great player like the Federer, Djokovic and Nadal. Just running from side to side trying to put the ball back in play again pathetically and pray for the opponent's error for the win. Hence, ultimately you can celebrate from get out of jail in the embrace of his classy mother.

Pure class Murray, you're the best.

Where are Nadal and Federer in the tournament?

The big 3 right now are Djokovic, Murray, and Nadal. There is indeed no big 4, in that Federer is not part of that group currently. Nadal is only included since his total dominance on one surface (clay) cant be overlooked, and since he has already won a hard court Masters this year as well, but his performances on non clay surfaces are still a question mark moving forward now.

In many ways it is a big 1 though as Djokovic overall has been a huge cut above the rest over the last 2.5 years overall, and currently is the one to beat on everything but clay (and is virtually a co favorite on clay too).

murray is the up there with simon in the class of pushers..The guy bores me to death with his pushing..All he does is runs side to side to retrieve the ball waiting for the opponent to make an UE and on top of it screams and uses filthy language..Even though verdasco is a choker I feel for the guy..He had to put 5 to 6 good shots per rally still couldn't get past the pusher...The crowd was on the side of Murray every single point...Poor guy gave up in the end..Murray is definitely not in the class of Fedalovic in my eyes...If he was not british all these fans of him would call him pusher day in day out...period.

Is that so different from what Nadal used to do? Granted, he could and can hit winners, but he's won a ton of matches by putting one more ball into play, waiting for the error

Came into the thread expecting it to be in praise of a totally gutsy Murray performance coming back when playing badly, almost certainly with a back problem, and facing his Wimbledon dream slipping away.

Which goes to show how utterly wrong the OP is. Oh and the stats show like 37 winners to 25 unforced errors. More winners than unforced errors is a strong indicator that a player had a good match.

According to the OP, only the 'Big 3' are allowed to lose before the final of a Slam. Everyone else is a disgrace!

yeah and let's see, he's been in 2 out of the last 3 slam finals and could be in 3 of the last 4... he's certainly big 3 right now, and I say that as someone who doesn't even like him that much (though I would say I've mellowed towards him lol) but no point lying about the way things are

Here we go with this Simon comparison again! How many big titles has Simon won? How is he to be compared to Murray?

Lol...so, in your view, Murray should have just surrendered after losing the 2nd set and gone up to Verdasco and said, "Nando old chap, you are clearly the better player. I could probably still win this match if I resort to my notorious 'pushing' style but I won't do so because it would be a travesty and, above all, would upset terribly some of the posters on TTW who don't like me or my playing style at all. So well done old chap, and good look in the semi-final!"

:)

murray is unbearable but we should blame the surface, not him. you shouldn't be able to win like that on grass, it's ridiculous.

I concur completely - sadly enough as I would like Fed to still be elite. But he hasn't been in 2013

Am I wrong in thinking that Andy is ranked number 2 and #3 didn't make it past the second round? Are you saying Murray is better than himself?

Murray won't beat Novak playing like he did today. It will take far more offence then he showed. He can't just hope Novak is going to miss. Andy is going to have to take some chances, and learn a real second serve.

After seeing the way Murray played versus Verdasco, he has to dramatically change his approach and show more offense. I'd much rather see someone who is more offensive win the title.

If he makes the final against djokovic, he will play more aggressive as he has done the last 4-5 times he has played him. His passive game is effective against the lower ranked players which is why he plays this way against them. Every match up requires different tactics.

lmao to of the people who think Murray is better than Nadal and Federer because he got further in this tournament.

If only Novak didnt play like crap in the USO'12 final, all the Muzzas fan would be exactly where they should be.

You know you people should really calm down a bit. History remembers the facts and the facts about Murray are quite impressive. He's a Grand Slam champion, an Olympic Champion and has now reached 5 Wimbledon semi finals in succession. He's contested the last three Grand Slam finals he has been in and has a chance to make that four.

Pusher or no pusher, passive or assertive on court....who cares. He seems to win and pull off victories when not playing well. If anything is the true mark of a player at the top the the game, then it has to be this.

Murray's style of play yesterday may not be the most exciting or aggressive, but he knows he can do it all day long. The fact that he can switch between full on Michael Bay "Balls to the Wall" aggression, and then become a plastic figure on a table football game suggests that these sorts of contests are probably a tactical decision.

Not that I'm suggesting he deliberately goes 2-0 down, but he knows that if he does find himself in that position he can carry on grinding his opponent down.

Being 2-0 down and saving break points isn't nearly as close to losing as being 2-0 and a break down.

Muzzatiyo is my man to win Wimbledon.
He will consume all the cosmic energy coming from Janowicz serve and then release that energy in final against Joker in super aggressive mode.
