Almagro losing just now seriously broke my heart. Anyone feel the same way?

That had to be the best 5-setter of the tournament so far. Amazing, I loved it all besides the ending. I also don't like how most of the French players seem to start nagging after ever big point. I am definitely glad I watched though.

It didn't break my heart, but major props to Almagro. Well-played. I hope he can build on this and have more consistent good performances.

I thought the ending was brilliant.

But yes I give props to Almagro that he kept painting the lines and never gave up (for a headcase like him).

But I love Tsonga and Monfils with the way they celebrate. It gets my blood going and Tsonga's game is a thing of beauty.

I have to admit. Tsonga's net game was obscene tonight.

9 -7 in the 5th, that's got to hurt.
But I like Tsonga going through, as he has a better chance at defeating Djokovic.

Nico lost and it broke your heart??
I guess then you're not a Almagrofan.

Almagrofans are highly trained and accustomed to such losses.
Just ask Breaker.

I know he used to choke but it didn't seem like a choke this time. This is actually the best I have seen him play. Credit to Tsonga but I still think he got a little lucky at the end.

USED to choke? When did he stop chocking exactly?:) Anyway I didn't see the match,so you may be right..not every loss in the 5th is a choke of course.
I'm just saying..if you're a fan of nico you should be accustomed to such results.

Being a Tsonga fan, I'm awfully biased in my opinion, but I don't think he really got lucky. He pretty much saved the bp's he faced in the fifth, and I don't think Almagro really handed him the match in the end.

For fans of Almagro, I just hope he can keep that level up a bit more this year. If he played like that week in week out he'd be up in that 9-16 ranking range :/

I really do hope he keeps that level up. It would do wonders for his ranking plus I happen to really enjoy watching his playing style. This is really the best I have seen him.

Props to Almagro, but I still thought Youzhny-Gasquet was the match of the tournament, granted it was a first round

I watched the entire end of the match - nearly the last three sets.

Almagro may have a reputation as a choker, but he didn't choke this match. The play at the end was incredible by both. Both guys were making clutch shots and not playing timid tennis.

loved that point when Tsonga pulled a obscene volley and almagro crossed the net trying to reach it...

they ended smiling at each other with that WTF? expression...

tsonga definitely did not get lucky, but he felt the pressure from almagro for a long while. Jo's net game was riddick and though not as consistent as Almagro's his service game was pretty flawless too. then up 8-7 a few little slips and its over. great match.

Typical Almagro...

Yep, he did stay quite mentally tough and composed even deep into a 5th set against a top 10 player. Good to know you think this will be typical of him for the rest of this year and his career :)
