Okay here is something very interesting to think about. After listening to hundreds/thousands of songs/raps/melodies, what is your all time favorite.

Please read the rules before posting:
1) Name one song and the corresponding band.
2) THIS IS FOR YOUR ALL TIME FAVORITE ONLY! Do not post "anything from this band," you must post your favorite of all time.
3) Once again, only ONE SONG!

My favorite would be : Be My Escape by Relient K!!!!!! I never get sick of it!

Right now my wife is justifiably angry with me, so I'll go with:
"I'll Go On Loving You" by Allan Jackson

First off, Slice... awesome pun/play on words as always

Favorite song: Best of You- Foo Fighters, no matter what is going on, can and will scream the chorus

Thanks, man. I try, I try.

BTW, Foo Fighters.....great choice.

I must admit, I am a sucker for threads like this. Oh, and I feel compelled to rebel...against the one song maximum.

So, on that note, inspired by another thread, I present,

Made me think of a song by STYX called "Too Much Time On My Hands". Props to the poster named InvisibleSoul...which makes me think of that song by the POLICE, 'Invisible Sun'.

Okay, that's all for now. Sorry for the interruption. Best that we get back to the songs you guys really do dig.

"Un bel di", sung by Mirella Freni.

Among popular works, I like "American Pie", "Dark Side of the Moon", and "Satisfaction".

Lots of great songs above, though.

This is a hard thread to respond to since I have different favorite songs in different categories of music. I listen to everything for Rock to Classic with the only exception being ghetto rap type noise.
So how can I pick a favorite between Rock vs. Classical or Country vs. R&B?

Well since the fate of the world does not rest on my ability to choose just one, or even me posting one I will go with a song from Rock which I listen to the most.
It mirrors my philosophy in life so I list

Love Takes Time - Orleans

ramones

have doen a few goods songs too.. very original band..
my favs are:
'blitzkrieg bop'
'cretin hop'
and 'chinese rocks'

How has this thread made it this far without someone mentioning "Tribute" by Tenacious D?!?!!?!

"This is the greatest and best song in the world..."

If you insist that I can choose JUST ONE ...

For me its the classic ...

"The Turn of A Friendly Card" by The Alan Parsons Project.

This is certainly one of the most beautiful Classic Rock ever.
