I hate it. The Majors are too spaced out and I would do one of two options: hold an AO in early March which at around end of summer there and weather would cool down a little bit rather than the heat in January. Or other option, hold Roland Garros in early May, give the proper grass court build-up in mid-May to June before Wimbledon. Eliminate Miami and start the proper clay court season there after AO. With this set-up, you have all proper build-up for all 4 slams and season could start in mid-January after a proper off-season. Indian Wells could be held at end of October with 2-week season ending tournament. The only space it should be is September to March which is 6 months and I do not mind because tennis is a warm-weather sport, not indoor sport. People in Australia would rather to keep this in January because of summer holidays but I do not see the point because in US open, Roland Garros, there is no summer holidays because most people go back to school or work anyways and there's no dip in attendance anyways.
Other option, keep the AO schecule but move up Roland Garros to early May. With this plan, we'd give the lawn tennis a proper love with proper buildup with a couple of grass court Masters thrown in
