...Is the modified version available for purchase? I want to use 15g revolve instead of the 17g prepack.

Thanks
Why not use the revolve you want and something like Wlison Sensation or Dunlop Hexy Fiber (DHF is on sale for $4.63 a set right now?)

"Both strings have a low friction UHMW material coating to facilitate snapback, which increases ball rotation."

I havent seen any other "slippery" strings and the sensation in the pack doesnt have a name yet, unavailible outside of that pack

Im putting it in my ultra xp 100s's, so i want the full effect. My friends had this string combo in it and it wasnt notching, i hit pretty hard too. It was very surprising.

I just think a beefier main would be better for me, hopefully they can prepackage the hybrid spin effect in different size mains.

Thanks

Maybe because they don't want a string will get sawed through in a few hours.

I saw your orig thread on the ultra 100s, what would you think of 15g revolve + 16ga natural cut (cross)? Would it stick to much and cut?

I felt the same way!

i recently playtested this combo and the crosses broke at the end of the first session, that is 2 hours - just like the vast majority of multis i used/tested as crosses. i went on to recross the stick and the mains lasted for another session, just in line with the durability i usually get from most 1.25mm poly mains.

the combo played quite decent, but in no aspect outstanding.

this coating stuff is a really funny thing and it is surprising how many people do buy into this - let me elaborate: a coating is something applied on top of something, in this case on both a poly and a multi. while initially it does work, reducing friction since the surface is much smoother, you basically have wear on the coating from both ball contact as well as interstring friction. at a certain point in time this coating will have worn off and you have "worked" your way through to the "regular" poly-material respectively multi-material. there is no more low friction benefit from this point on! from the few "coated" strings i have played so far, it seemed to me that the "coating-effect" vanished after about 30-45mins of hitting - that is for me about 20% of the lifetime of the string.

In that racquet it wouldn't last as long as in another racquet with a denser string pattern (like the Blade or Pro Staffs). But I think that would perform better than the Spin Effect hybrid and last longer too. It would take several hours at least before notching.

Thanks for elaborating. It's good to remind people that the coating will wear out pretty quickly. Sure it helps, but it's not going to make a monumental difference.
