Who you got?

I saw Opelka up close in Houston last night. He lost to another NextGen guy I really like (Ruud) in a tight three-setter (great match).
It's hard not to see this guy making deep runs at Wimbledon and the USO in the near future.
The movement will of course be a problem but the BH is already better than Isner's and with help on the FH, he'll be top 5 guy potentially.

Watch the highlights below, folks. He's basically Isner 2.0. Better movement. Better natural athlete probably. Serve will become better (as it usually does in players).

Wow, that list is brutal. There’s guys on that list who will struggle to win consecutive matches never mind a Grand Slam. Can one of these “hard hitting” tennis journalists please try to uncover what the hell is going on with USTA Player Development ?

Would you rather have someone like Zed up there?

Tiafoe has made more real tennis slam QFs than Zed

I didn’t say I wanted anybody on the list. My post was about how bad the list looked. I don’t think I ever mentioned Zverev but if you want to hitch your Slam hopes on Frances Tiafoe have at it.

Nope. They will win nothing. They all, pardon me, suck.

Yeah, as mahesh69a said 'the US need to import a new player'. :)

Agassi and Graf have a son? Sampras?
Jaden Gil Agassi is a baseball player.

In the future, the US will surely see a next GS winner in men's singles, but at none of the current American players, I don't think he's going to reach the GS men's singles title. Canadians have greater potential (Denis + Felix).

I chose Tiafoe. It’s wishful thinking at the moment, but he seems like a cool kid and it would be fun to see him win a slam.

IIRC Andy has said that he would encourage his kids to play team sports, not tennis.

Of course he'd say that. On a team you can lean on people. Roddick has admit how depressing it was to lose to Federer all those times but even then he won't admit how soul crushing it truly was. Considering all the hype he had going for him. All that said you never know, his son would command more marketing money in tennis.

That wasn't the rationale. Because it's easier to make money in team sports.

Easier to some degree. Having a 15 year basketball career in Argentina and Europe is decent money but considering his son's name and if things continue his father remains the last American man to win a Slam? He'd be looking at millions in endorsements easily if he showed any potential.

He doesn't seem to agree.
