Growing up I always thought the companies like HEAD, Fischer, Kneissl, and Rossignol that had both a ski and tennis line made the best tennis rackets because they took their expertise of composite ski manufacturing and brought it to tennis. Alas HEAD is only one true ski and tennis company left. Völkl is a licensing deal that’s based out of San Diego now and nothing to do with the skis.

Are the black and white Pacific the same as my Fischer Pro Tours (the grey and red ones on the left of the first picture) ? Looks like it.
The two that are in the middle of the photo are ProClassic 98 +1.5cm Pro Stock (see here). Made for Andrey Golubev, back when he used Fischer (think the's changed to Head now...still playing doubles). I love them...for ~ 20 minutes. Then my shoulder dies on me. Just too heavy for me to swing anymore.

Yep, same mold as the Pro Tours then , which were from that PC 98 Revolution too. I may be wrong but didn't those Golubev frames have a 18x20 string pattern? I'm curious to know how they play -- dying shoulder apart. Do you have full specs?

I think they maybe slightly different in that they have a spine in the throat, making them a bit stiffer. They are 16x20. Here's the specs for the hairpin:

So you add a grip, butt cap, string, overgrip, and I'm well north of 340g in an extended frame. 20 years ago, when I used the PC + "Swirly", that was no problem. But I'm not 35 anymore...

This wasn’t a popular paint job back in 1991 and 1992 with guys I was playing ITF’s with. The guys preferred the burgundy red and brown paint job but this is all we got in the USA in late summer 1991 and 1992. I was so grateful to have them during the height of the wide body era. To have a thin beam racquet reintroduced was a miracle for me.
In 1988 HEAD had completed a new tennis racquet factory in Hörbranz, Austria.

Pristine condition! And classic logos on strings too :)

I also am a stickler for a period correct head logo on the strings!
Remember pre-2006 rackets use the thin logo, 06-present is the current one!

and yes, I always like the look of the old logo more, butI don’t hate the current one. I certainly wouldn’t demand they go back to the old one. Other brands have made that mistake and it just makes the timeline confusing to non-nerds.

Not that I dislike the bigger Head logo but I liked to see the old logo on an old frame. The big one wouldn't fit on that green Prestige, would it? Well done @vsbabolat

Recently, I put the Estusa logo on my BB Puma racket and I felt like I was in 1991 again lol.

The new bigger ski tip logo fits perfectly on the mid’s

I noticed Nordica seemed to be missing from the the ski cos with tennis lines, so I searched for Nordica Racket and got an interesting surprise! Lol (NSFW)

I'm pretty sure it does, I meant, something in the timeline would have gone wrong with a 2006 logo on a 1991 racket. ;)
Oh my local pro shop once put the current head logo on my old Ti Radical and I immediately went home and scrapped it off because it’s not period correct.

What was the name of the Fischer frame that had a rubber bit between the throat parts, and down the handle? Now reincarnated as pacific nexus and raptor.

You mean that Volkl is out of ski business now? I think the company still produce skis.

No, what I mean is the tennis company has no affiliation with the ski company. That the tennis company pays the ski company for the right to use the name on racquets.

thanks VS - just seen this thread and understood the name of this thread.

love the sliver/green PC600. still looking for a green CAP - maybe one day i will be lucky enough to get my greasy hands on a green PC600 CAP and add to my non-CAP PC600. LOL

to answer this thread - my current fave racquet made by this Ski company is the Redhead Prestige Mid.

Ok. But Head Ski and Head Tennis also are two different companies.
No, HEAD racket sports and HEAD Ski are part of one company, HEAD Sport. In fact they’re even out of the same corporate center in Kennelbach, Austria.

Ok, maybe, but originally it was the same situation with Volkl.
Yes, it used to be Völkl Ski and Tennis. No more!! Has not been that way since 1992. In 1993 Völkl Ski started licensing out the Völkl name for tennis rackets. Currently Völkl Tennis is located in San Diego, California. At one point Boris Becker owned Völkl Tennis and that was a disaster.

It was that period when Volkl made Boris Becker racquets? Seems that Boris couldn't manage any business, though the BB racquets were good. Brilliant tennis player but not a business person.

OK, thank you, sorry, think there were two different companies. In this way Head is the only one ski/tennis company now? I don't know if Kneissl is still producing some racquets or not.

I'm not sure Kneissl even produces skis as of this writing. Or maybe they just don't bring them to North America

Don't have current info, several years ago they were still in business, i have several pairs myself, very good skis.

NicoMK- does it say Falcon I on the tube area between the grip and hoop? Head apparently made a Falcon racket. I never heard of it but there is a Head Falcon mid plus on the auction site right now and it has the same paint job as yours. My guess is that you have the mid version of it kind of in the vein of the Head Magnum 25 and the Head Magnum Special 35 (your racket actually has a super similar paint job too) where there was an 81.1 sq in version as well as an 89.5 version.

@serveandvolE Seems that you've guessed it right (y) -- see pics above.

NicoMK- have you hit with it? If so how does it play? Also, looks like the grip is a 1/2 or 5/8?
No sorry, I haven't. I guess it's super soft.

Surprisingly, grommets look in perfect condition. Strings have probably been here forever, I'll have to restring it first if I ever hit with it. Grip is 5/8 but the racket has pallets. I'll probably switch to a thinner one + new leather… #youththerapy.

Hit some balls with it!

Don't know may be it was mentioned above but i just found a picture from 70's of three ski winners after the race. First was of course Stenmark with his Elan, the other two hold Spalding skis, actually i don't know till this moment that Spalding produced skis. So, it's another member of ski club, that no longer produce racquets or skis.
