Maybe because of his ankle injury he sustained at the tail end of 05? He did generally play below par outside of just movement also so I'll concede that. How about he played unremarkably? Tbh, this is small fry compared to what the VB have conjured up over the years, so I reject the 'always'. He was fairly poor at AO 18 too.

The reality is that each of the Big 3 has currently gulped two weak slems (Fedr AO 06/18, Nadl USO 17/19, Djovak WB 19 / AO 20), but only two of them are primed to make further use of possible weakness because the other guy is too old.

He played like s*** and I never thought his ankle had much to do with it, since he had over 2 months to recover. Unremarkable does work in this case.
