To me, Djoker was a bit on the cocky side too...cocky, like a brash young teenager, but not arrogant. Novak also words things better, maybe from being in the spotlight longer.

Tsonga, nothing wrong with him saying what he says, but he's going to need to back it up. And if he can't he's going to look like a fool. Djokovic has been near the top for awhile. Tsonga came out of nowhere and won a few matches. That's not enough to be strutting around like a peacock, imo.

Except when he made those infamous comments after the Nadal match at the 2006 FO. He hadn't done anything better than Tsonga at that point in his career.

When Tsonga can beat Djokovic in a Grand Slam, then we can talk. Just like with Simon and Murray against Federer.

djoko has not been near the top forawhile in comparison to Rog and Nadal. Roddick's and Nalby are even more experienced than him; what if Novak just blows 09, ends the year at no. 6? what then?

as for Tsonga, it's not like he's a flash in the pan. in the past two seasons whenever he's been healthy he's done well enough. I think he can beat the top guys in the slams, nerves don't effect him as much as the other french players.

all in all i cant waiiiit for ao well all see then

you're all full of it.

How am I full of it? Tsonga has only managed to beat one top ten player, Djokovic, since the Australian Open. He only beat him because Djokovic didn't have anything to prove. He said that he wants to be number one in 2009. There are many other people who have a better chance, and who have more talent. Tsonga has bigger words than actions - he should prove himself on the court.

hah I was just kidding, I d'nt think your'e full of it.

I don't think he beat Djokovic because he had nothing to prove, one match was in a tournament final and the other was in an AMS, Novak definitely would have liked to win those.

As for there being "many other people who have betterchance/more talent", I'd like to know who? Roger, Murray. Nadal. Novak. Then who? I'd say no one.

He will prove himself on the court, but right now all he's saying is he feels like he can win his first tournament and that he's playing very well. no big deal.

you think Simon has more talent and a better chance to become a world #1 over Tsonga? I find that hard to believe.

Same with Del Potro, who I think is over hyped because of his great summer, other than winning 4 meaningless titles Delp has done nothing to suggest he could be a world #1.

As for your "etc." I don't know who you're suggesting. Tsonga is 6 in the world for a reason, even with missing two slams.

I don't think Tsonga we'll be #1 at the end of 09, probably not ever, but he definitely has the game and mentality to achieve it. If that makes him cocky, so be it.

i don't think del potro is over hyped he is very young and developing fast its that no player has noticed this yet didn't he make it to QF of Us open and he is already in top 10 at age 20 he's playing with the big guys and managing to keep up

I didn't phrase that exactly how I wanted to.
Juan is a good player and had a very good year, but other than the summer he didn't do much at all. I could see him staying in the top 10 for most of 09, but I believe Tsonga is much more talented.

2009 is the year of the Bull. That means Tsonga's year. No cockiness, he's simply consulted an astrologer.:):)
