my team has been practicing indoors for about 5-6 weeks and we just started to move into our indoor home courts which are a little weird. your feet kind of stick to them and you do not slide at all. Since the first day there (about 3-4 days ago) i have been having toe problems bad. My feet, i guess jam into the front of my sneaker and this results in pretty much all of my toenails to turn black and blue. I have been trying to pad the top by wearing 2 socks but still in a lot of pain. i will have the trainer take a look but anyone else have this problem and have any solution or treatment. thanks

STop playing. Use gel pads, two socks, go to a larger foot size if you have to. Treat with ice/heat/juvenon.

I have this chronically on my right big toe. often the toenail will separate and you can get a fungus under there. you can also lose your toenail or have a second toenail trying to grow while a first one is hanging on <thats pretty disgusting> It's much more bearable now that I play on the HarTru.
What I would do on these courts is to find some shoes with the least amount of traction as possible so they grab you less when you stop. Or even wear shoes with worn out soles being aware they will likely give you less support. These courts with very tight traction can also be dangerous as far as blowing out knees, rolling ankles, and such. Buying a bigger shoe could possibly worsen the condition as your toe would have more room to move to slam into the toebox when you abruptly stop.

1. Make sure you clip your toe nails.

2. Do move up a 1/2 size to allow more toe room, but lace them up tight, so your feet would not slide up and down inside the shoes.

Most likely you will lose that toe nail.
