Good consolation...even before the match starts. This wawrinka is not even 30% of his best. He doesn't have the stamina to grind in a 5 setter. So djoker in 3/4 sets.

I know, I just wanted to show that even Rafa uber aggressive game like in 2012 and 2018 cant beat rested Novak at AO and Wimbledon. He needs some outside factor, like zero day of rest at Wimby for Novak or Carlos pushing him to 5 hour match.

Rafa was the better player but was unlucky in the last set leading 4-1 still lost.
In 2018 he wasn't at this best like 2008-10. But still he had many chances in 3rd and 5th set to close it.

Wawrinka will not win. The grass is too fast surface for him, because he doesn't have time to get to his ideal strokes. That's why grass is his weakest surface and Wimbledon the only Grand Slam where he's never achieved a SF, let alone a trophy.

I saw some of match today and Stan was in very good form really hitting through his shots. Also i think he is one of the very few players that Novak will be wary of in a GS.
Novak's best bet is to really get Stan moving all round the court as that is the one area where Stan is struggling more with because of age and previous injury.
Make no mistake if Stan gets a chance to win he won't throw it away easily like some of next Gen.
