So, basically, a great string for the first 20 minutes of hitting and then rubbish for the rest of the time?

Hahahaha, you're funny. I've been using UC for a couple months now, probably on my 10th set. I've not experienced this tension loss of yours. I have, however experienced it with Diadem Solstice - noodles in 3 days:)

No Ultracable was great for good 4-6 hours. I didn't go with it cause it just was lacking in feel and I Asked Weisscannon to make a thinner version of Ultracable. and they did what I asked them to do. It should be great string for Spin and Power.

I have no idea how you hit the ball but UC's tension loss and, more importantly, tensions loss related performance change, was more pronounced than any other spin-oriented poly I've ever tried. The American dist said they'd had the same feedback from a few other customer including former a challenger/futures player in Canada. It just goes to show, some people aren't very tension sensitive.

Maybe a thinner gauge will hold its tension better by virtue of losing more of its give during stringing. For the meantime I'll live with Black 5 Edge.

yes, I did notice the tension change at 3 hours and cut it out.

when is this string coming out ?? I can't wait til I try it. they made this based on my suggestions to make Ultra cable thinner

If this is more squarish string, then it would be similar to L-tec 4S. I will give these strings a shot and see how they play when they come out.

Interesting. If it's thinner and a bit livelier than Ultra Cable with the same spin potential could be a winner. The colour is an improvement too!

Had my first hit with this today. It's insanely good.

Comparable spin to Ultra Cable, but a bit more powerful, and a lot more comfortable. No obvious loss of tension after 2.5 hours of play. Not sold on the colour, but then again if it works it really doesn't matter.

Does someone compared the Ultra Cable, Blue Rock n Power and Yonex PTP 120.

I'm stringing for other people and I want to make assortment for different players who wants polyester string:

Spinning players (breakers) and more control : GAMMA Moto 17 ( Maybe looking for another option)
Flat playing players and comfort: Yonex PTP 120
Spinning players and comfort: Weiss Cannon BRNP or UC.

Is this a good list of does anyone have another options or tips.

Curiosity got the better of me and I have just ordered a couple of sets. In my experience, all Weiss Cannon strings are worth trying at least once anyhow!

The Blue Rock 'N Power is not available in USA. It is currently undergoing revisions before it will be re-released in some form. Currently there is no projected timeline. The revised version will need to be playtested before it is brought into the USA.

Thanks Jerry, AllCourtGuy is upset!

Yes silverstring is one of my go to strings also, there is nothing in the market like it but the new Blue Rock n power is not like silverstring, it is in between Ultra Cable and red ghost (more like Ultra cable with more power) I was told to go even 2lbs lower than other poly set up because of it's construction, apparently they took 150mm round string and reshaped it to square 120mm by compressing it.

Can you drop me their contact info on pm? Tried few times to contact them but never got a respond.

Just hit with this for a couple hours indoors in a Pure Aero strung at 46. Have same racquet strung with UC at 46. I'm a 4.5-5.0 nationally ranked senior.

The Blue has *extremely* sharp edges. When you run your hand over the surface you can really feel the difference. This means the String-Ball COF will likely be high (and the string will "grab" the ball better).

However, the UC feels much slippier. This means the String-String COF will be low (and the snap-back effect will be high)

The Spin Potential is the String-to-ball COF divided by the String-to-string COF. For the UC:
0.774/0.065 = 11.9, which is the highest rating in the TW rating database. There are only two other strings slippier than UC - Wilson Revolve 16 and Pacific Poly Power Pro 16. No strings have better Ball COF.

I'll try stringing the Blue a couple of pounds lower and see what kind of tension maintenance I get. Both are great strings - I'll be playing 2017 with one of them. Right now I'm favoring the UC, but it's very close. It may come down to color! ;-)

I'm nearly done with my first reel of UC. The trick to taming the tension loss is to string it really tight right off the bat and let it settle for 24 hours before playing. I usually aim for poly at 45-50 on my crank but my second time out with UC I upped it to 60 on the mains and I let it fall off to the 40's.

Any updates on the playability characteristics of the Blue Rock string, such as tension maintenance, spin, control, comfort, etc. - all in comparison to Ultra Cable.

Thanks!

I agree UC is a great string. I think it's keeps its playability pretty well, but I've never found a poly that plays great for a very long time. I have not noticed that it drops terribly fast like alu or rpm does.

I found out a few years ago that if I'm going to use poly and want it to play with the magic that I love I have to change it often, regardless of what poly I use.

I agree even though I only gave blue one try I love the UC.

Good to hear there is someone out there that is willing to try poly at a higher tension. I use UC in the mid 60's and I love the way it plays, it is not uncomfortable at all even when strung tight.

Guts and glory tennis has them for $145 right now
Thanks for the info.
I ordered several sets from TW and strung @50 on FST99s for my daughter. She can swing much harder and still keeps the ball in. After 5 hours of hitting, I can feel the string's sharp edge becomes rounder when I touch the string bed. In the past, whenever I tried to put a new type of string on her racket ( or the same string with difference tension), she never felt the difference. This is the first time she said she could feel the power and spin of the new string. So I need to order a reel. :)

Haven't seen a reel yet in TW. They finally got the reel of ultra cable about 3 months ago at TW.

If you are still there, sir, I would gladly lie to hear your toughts on long term using a RnP in a Pure Aero. I'm considering the switch to it!

I ordered a couple of sets of the Blue Rock 'n Power a few months ago. I finally strung one of them up yesterday. Installed at 42M/40X and hit with it last night. This string delivers impressive string. Control was very nice as well. I found myself swinging out with this string. Upsides were ground strokes, down sides was everything else :). I found it lacking in power and depth on serves and volleys were a real struggle. I've never strung a poly this low. I found good pocketing and comfort with this string.

It was a fun hit though.
