Too many invested way too much into this slam race, like an unhealthy amount of emotional investment, and now that Djokovic has finally pulled ahead, it's devastating for them.

Would you be OK with the slam race ending with Federer (20), Nadal (20) and Djokovic (17)? Or are you hoping for a different finish?

I'm personally fine with it as I love FEDAL but I'm curious to see what others would like to see happen.

Yes, but i think 24 slams for Novak is lawballing it way too much...for Nadal though it may prove to be true, for Federer - well it IS already true...but i don't think that 24 for Novak is correct number...25+ (how many more past 25 i cannot predict, but it is at very least 25 for damn certain!)
