What is the racket of the decade?

RF97A - a racquet that modified from a classic Wilson to fit the modern games. Retaining stable serve and volley characteristics, while open pattern provides sufficient power and spin for rallies.

waiting for delivery of 2 x 2013 Blade 98 18x20. i believe it is a re-issue version. have read loads about the Blade line, so am quite excited about it and keen to find out what the spec variance between the two will be.

i think i will leave the spec as is, only to add the string (fb of multi or syn gut) and an 0.70mm OG (on L3). would be keen to understand how the lower strung weight and higher SW/more HH setup will play. i think the SW should be around 330/low 330?

my current main stick strung spec is around 344g/31.5cm/low 330SW. wouldnt mind to lower the strung weight alittle. lol

I'd guess the Babolat Aero Pro Drive would be the racquet of the decade. It's probably won more mens grandslams in this decade, and is the best selling racket this decade. Most people would use those criteria to award a "best" racquet of the decade.

I would also say the APD 2013 version, but honestly, the 2019 Pure Aero is so much better in almost all aspects, imo.

I would also agree that the Blade line has been the most notable.

I think that the whole phantom line worths a mention, as it brought back the flexy, comfortable rackets of the past..

Since I'm addicted to collecting racquets, it's hard to pick just one racquet.

Here are several that stand out for me:

Yonex VCore 95D
Head Youtek IG Prestige MP/ Pro Stock IG Prestige Mid - also liked the IG Radical Pro
Volkl C10 Pro and C10 Pro Extended
Tecnifibre TFight 315 Limited (2013) 18x20
Yonex Vcore 97 Tour G/ Duel G/ Pro 97
Angell TC95 63RA 18x20
Yonex Ezone DR98
Wilson Ultra Tour
Wilson Blade 98 18x20 (I have a Pro Stock and 2015 version - will look to get the v7 at some point)
Prince Phantom Pro 93P 18x20

I keep trying to pick one from just this list and I can't... The TC95 is exquisite, the DR98... magic, the Pro Stock Blade 98... a force to be reckoned with, the Vcore 97 Tour G... brutal, and the Phantom Pro 93P... a precision instrument for pure artistry (just to name a few).

I love playing with all the racquets on the list above, and if I had to pick any one of them and play for the rest of my life, I'd be a happy man.

I'm so thankful I discovered, late, the Babolat Pure Storm 95 LTD+ GT and Pure Control 95+, before the remaining sticks were all tossed in the dump or given to Goodwill. Every day I hit with these rackets I shake my head that I didn't come across these earlier. 95", 27.5", 20mm, 18x20, RA 60ish, right at 12oz depending on grip and OG.

I must admit my list would be quite similar. I guess Wilson Blade v7 would be along Wilson 6.1 309g (16x19).
Head YT IG Prestige Mid is as good as good classic Prestige Mid frames. IG Prestige MP is not bad at all.

I would add TGT292.1 as the new Radical – which is the pro stock editon of the same mold as IG Prestige S which
is used for Graphene Pro as well. Comfy and precise.

Tec 315 Ltd is fine racket. I've spent 2-3 years playing with it. ProKennex Q Tour is also a good one - especially the
one with 57RA.

I really love Head TGT 260.5 (also 260.1, 260.2) – which isn't far from IG Radical Pro. Prostock is more flexy and comfortable,
but not as stable as retail.

For me, it was the Donnay X Series : Gold and Red . Still my favourite for doubles. For singles, they got squeezed out by the Angell TC 97 ( needed the extra power ). Nothing else I tried stuck.

At each Grand Slam this year, I've seen more and more Yonex rackets, so I wouldn't be against Yonex for the coming decade.

The Yonex 97 series. The Tour F, Tour G were a great start. They reached perfection with the Duel G, and somehow managed to not mess it up with the VCore Pro series. All great racquets, especially the 330g version, which does everything an RF97 does, without sacrificing on the quality.

Best selling racquet: Babolat Pure Drive
Actual best racquet :) : Wilson Blade or Yonex Ezone

Torn between 2 frames. Both were new and exciting releases of this decade or decade- ish:

Wilson Blade 98 - such a great balance of control, power and versatility. I this this frame killed the popularity of 95 sq in head sizes. Wilson made a bet that it would and they were right.

Wilson PS97/ RF97 - the “actual” Federer frame that everyone has been wanting for so long. It sells well from the endorsement by Fed but it is also a great mold and design.

To be honest, the actual racquet of the decade is either:
Pure drive and Aero pro drive. Both changed the course of racquet technology last decade. Dominated last decade and continues to dominate this decade but it’s not a surprise. It’s crazy how many 100 sq in racquet models are on the market and how other brands are trying to dethrone the pure/ aero drives. None have achieved this yet.

A decade is a long time given most models turn over 5 times in a decade.

I think APD was the racket of the early 2010's, The Blade the racket of the mid 2010's and the Pure Strike the racket of the latter 2010's. Of course the Clash is the frame of the early 2020's.

Obviously for me it was and still is the Becker Melbourne. Just got a new old stock frame and still love this frame as much as I did 10 years ago when I first started using it.
I felt the late 2000's had better frames than 2010 to 2020.
Ones that stick out for me that I used are:
Wilson kfactor 6.1 18 x 20
Yonex RDS 200 heavy version
PK Redondo 18 x 20 MP
PK KI5 315
Dunlop aerogel 200
