What is the weirdest/creepiest film you have ever seen?

Oldboy was twisted yet so unpredictable. It is so unHollywood and it's one of my favorite films ever ( I didn't care much for the other two in that trilogy). I bet you Hollywwod will remake this film and totally murder it.

They are remaking it. I heard with Will Smith of all people, but this is an early rumour. They are also remaking Lady Vengeance.......

The whole vengeance series has to be up there. Also Section 13. For me the violence in the movie Dogma was one of the most disturbing for some reason. I think it was due to the angels nonchalance about it all.

They are going to remake The Chaser too. Which is an awesome movie. Decaprio will be in it. I just don't see how you can remake these movies when the location really is key to the storyline. I would reccomend everyone check out the original..but good luck finding it. Hollywood's new game is to buy the rights and then make the original really hard to find.

They did this with REC. It is way easier to get the remade version then the orginal. I would add the orginal to the creepy movie list also.

To remake Old Boy would just be a complete insult to cinematography.

I just realize that none of these movies can come close to "Teeth"....emotionally scarring that one.

I found "Jungle Fever" disturbing. It's about an African-American man who has an affair w/a white, Italian-American woman. There's a scene in the film where the woman's father literally beats her up after he finds out about the affair. I was so upset that I turned off the recorder & have never watched the rest of the film.

This one creeped me out as a kid.

I also second Funny Games. It's disturbing and heartless.

Event Horizon anyone?

Where were you guys when I mentioned it earlier, i thought I was the only one who saw it!

I think it treats women like dirt. I really don't like it at all.

aha sorry, I didn't ready the whole thread.

But yeah I understand, it's not for everyone.

But you have to admit, the intensity that the director creates is fascinating.

It takes horror the a whole new level, no?

I did not appreciate The Devils, starring Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave. It takes place in the Middle Ages and is violent and bloody. After watching it, I went on a steady diet of comedies, action, and light romances for years.

The french make some amazing movies. They destroy american film sometimes with their vividness and creativity.

I reccomend The City of Lost Children .

"Blue Velvet."

"The Bad Lieutenant" featuring three minutes of full-frontally nude Harvey Keitel doing a drunken dance

"Manhattan," Woody Allen with Mariel Hemingway as his high school-aged girlfriend. That was pretty creepy, even at the time (1979).

"Freaks" (1932) with real sideshow performers

"Reflections In a Golden Eye"

Elizabeth Taylor, Marlon Brando, David Keith, Julie Harris, Gordon Mitchell, Robert Forster (and Harvey Keitel)

weird=8; creepy=9.5

(dishonorable mention):

"Morgan"

I believe it's actually the opposite.

*possible spoiler*

Through privation from the most basic needs and constant torment it's only the females who have the ability to see beyond the 'normal' world. The idea is interesting, makes you wonder whether the torment is actually real torment or in fact is a road to salvation.

I liked the movie. It wasn't that shocking, though I wanted to beat the cr@p out of one of the members of the organisation.

Certainly agree! It's one of those films I am glad I got through, and if I had to make the choice again I would still watch it, I just wouldn't recommend it to the average horror fan.

I agree to some degree, the point being is women have no choice in the matter, they are forced to be enlightened. And even then the results are not concrete as the organisation isn't actually sure what happens in the limbo state they get the victoms

Just read the plot to 'A Serbian film' and the the writers and director should be put in prison for making such a twisted film.

10,000 Motels, with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. I think the projector broke when I saw it in 1972 or so, the movie just sort of stopped all of a sudden, but it hadn't made any sense anyway. People just sort of sat there for a few minutes and then started leaving.

Mala Educación was out there. Even for Almodóvar.

The Human Centepede pretty weird too.

I'm intrigued by Martyr and Eraserhead.

For everyone that watched/wants to watch Martyrs...after that, watch Inside, which is another French film. Its on a different level in my opinion. I had the pleasure of watching it in a theater with other people who reacted the same way I did haha.

I agree. This isn't "art..." it's becoming a competition for who can come up with the most lunatic and goriest scene. The baby scene in A Serbian Film was very tough to watch, and that's the understatement of the year.

Reservoir Dogs.

I hated everything about it, and it creeped me out.

Now, Pulp Fiction is a classic. Not so for Reservoir Dogs.
