What stencil ink stays on head rip control multi strings? Wilson ink does not stay on

Does anyone know a stencil ink that will stay on head rip control multi strings?

I used the Wilson super ink and also yonex one and it does not stay long like after 1 hour of play 50% of painted logo is gone and this was on the natural colour strings

The white strings the paint does not stay on at all goes within 30 mins of play!

I originally assumed it was an ink issue but it seems it might be the strings i use (which i cant change so not an option)

I tried it on babolat xcel strings natural colour (same issue didnt last long - hence my assumption it was the ink)

The Wilson factory strung sensation strings lasts ages and that is a multi not sure why i am having difficulties i think maybe cos the outter coating of the head rip control is not absorbent at all (prob explains why it is so durable)

Im hoping there is a better option than these inks. I would rather not use spray paint as i dont want to have to tape up the frame every time i do it was just hoping there maybe a better ink which adheres to these strings better because im not going to paint the logo 4 times a week!

Stencil ink doesn't stay on strings very long. Best ways to get it to stay in my experience: hit off center and don't hit very hard or with much spin. Unfortunately, none of that is good for your tennis game. The ink is just going to come off as the strings slide against each other due to the friction. If you have a fun design you want to show off, you're best bet is to put new ink on repeatedly. Otherwise, you'll probably just have to deal with it not looking great. Maybe someone has different experience than me, but that's what I've noticed.

Only thing I have noticed: the white ink usually is noticeably worse (I've tried several brands).

@pete101

Are these endorsed players using Babolat Xcel , Rip Control or Sensation ?

Not stenciling is always the best option IMO unless an endorsed player has some requirement to use stenciled strings..
No it is for me i like having the logo on my rackets lol

Do you know what stencil ink will stay?

Have you tried playing with the racquet once and then stenciling it? That allows a little of the coating to wear off the string and the ink will stick a little better.
Yes tried that didn't work well

Head rip control is the most durable multi and the outter shell is durable it doesn't break down until like 20 hours of play so i guess i could try again then

I dont particularly want to use spray paint as i have to tape up the racket

Just the stencil inks i mention do not stay on and not changing strings

Surely some sort of paint will adhere better

Have you tried spray paint like they used to do in the 90s

Just taping it up is a ball ache

Let me do you a huge favor.. please toss all of your stencil ink in the garbage and spend your extra money on a very good tennis pro.

Your welcome.

On the natural colour strings it lasts longer as in it comes off after 2 hours of play rather than immediately with white strings.

Logically there must be some sort of paint that will adhere to it better.. though may affect the durability of the strings but that is ok as i get like 60 hours of play with head rip control i dont mind even if that is halved

Why would i do that? I want the logo on my strings. End of.

I type from phone not a computer, so typos are easily made since TW removed Tapatalk from this platform.

Been on this forum a long time and It isn't a lack of understanding grammar or how to spell, but small screens. It was easier to post with TapaTalk, but TW removed that option.

If you want to use stencils, knock yourself out. If you want to become a better player, spend more money on a good coach. My post wasn't meant to be snarky whatsoever, but it is direct. It's honest and it's spot on.

Best wishes to you.

It's not a typo yours is a grammatically incorrect decision, 'your' means belongs to, 'you're' means 'you are'.

You started it with your snarky comment, if you can't take it then don't give it out.

Now you're just back tracking trying to save face as you did not expect me to fire back at you making you look like an idiot.

Your advice is irrelevant to what the thread is about or what i asked, if you have nothing to contribute that will solve my issue then don't say anything and shut up.

I haven't, I just use the stencil ink. It doesn't last very long, but I haven't come across any that do unfortunately. If it makes you feel better about the way it looks, somebody recognized my personal stencil after 3 1.5-hour hitting sessions when it was pretty worn and didn't look great to me, but clearly it was still noticeable enough and recognizable. So it might not look as bad as you think it does.

It was most certainly a typo. Don't need a grammar lesson, but yep, I would love Tapatalk back. No face to save as I've never lost any.

It is much easier to type on a computer without Tapatalk. I asked a question and you answered iit. You're not sponsored. You're trying to find ink so you don't have to restencile four days a weeks Do I have clients who want stencils ? Yep. And I explain the ink wears offf and doesn't make them better. If you want to spend your time and effort with stencil ink, by all means do.

Peacocking around on a court with stencil ink isn't going to make you better player.. Perhaps it will make you less of a curmudgeon.

You clearly didn't get the little joke @mad dog1 wrote as you replied to him. He was being witty. I attempted and failed. And yep I tossed all the ink I had for young juniors in the garbage.

when i use invisible ink, i feel special because only i know it's there and can see it. no one else knows it's there so i think of it as my secret weapon. ;)

I always wondered what the industrial strength stencil ink they use on their big box store rackets is. It lasts way longer than any stuff you apply from a marker.

You clearly are back tracking 'your' and 'you're' are two completely different words with different meanings but you don't seem to grasp this.

Regardless how have any of your posts actually answered my question of what stencil ink stays on the strings?

They haven't meaning you are just on here for either attention or to act like a ***** cos you are on some high horse thinking you know best.

Yes exactly on wilson sensation strings from the factory they last forever

They stopped making wilson super ink so was it that originally?

Also i have used the same stencil ink on wilson sensation strings and it does last much longer so it has to be a mix of strings + paint.

I maybe should try painting it letting it dry overnight and put another layer on then dry overnight then try again.

1 of my rackets i don't need to play with for a week so can see if that makes a difference.

The second time i tried it when i got the ink i let it dry for 1 hour then added another but it didn't make a difference this was the yonex/wilson ink they are in exact same bottle with a different label

Wonder if other manufacturers have a diff label with the same bottle

So you use white stencil ink on white strings and black stencil ink on black strings? :happydevil:
probably the same stuff but just has way more time to dry and cure.
I do believe that manufacturers also put on a really thicker layer of ink possibly. What I see in the Big Box stores has ink semi-drips. Most of the guys that stencil their own tell me their wives force them to do it over a kitchen sink because it is so messy. Or they learned to do it that way on their own.

If i want stencil ink on my strings i want stencil ink on my strings do i care what a ******** like you thinks on your high horse about what one should or should not do with their equipment?

Why don't you go put masking tape on the writing of what manufacturer racket you are using if you are so upset by me wanting the logo on my strings?

Who cares if it makes me better or not? that isn't the reason i do it, it is for the same reason i don't mix sports brands when i am on court.

You're just a dumbass who doesn't know the difference between 'your' and 'you're' but pretending you do because you go on and on about some tapatalk nonsense..

You didn't save face cos you didnt have any? Lol

But the factory paint from wilson on the wilson sensation strings on the pre strung rackets last forever.. surely they are using wilson super ink which is no longer sold?

I guess i could ask wilson directly and see if they answer, i imagine though in the production line they must be using spray paint or some machine that covers the frame when it sprays the paint so it doesn't go elsewhere on the racket

Good Afternoon.. I am a somewhat retired competitive player and pro stringer. "String FIxative!" Used to use it all the time after stringing a stick. Stencil, let dry, repeat, let dry for several hours, spray with "fixative" both sides, let dry. Not ONE player on this site made note of this. Instead, it seams the answer is 'down with stencils.' Makes me laugh. I hope that this helps you. Mike
