What's a similar 18/20 racket similar to RF97A?

Looking to switch to 18/20 string pattern since I'm a string breaker and my mains constantly walk.

Been playing with PS90 and most recently RF97A strung at 59/56.

Thanks.

bit vague...
strings? what are they...
Tension seems pretty high for a 09 in head...
how long does it take to break / and or start to wear...?

Modded Ultra Tour?
I actually demoed an Ultra Tour today against my newly strung with champions choice RF97. Added 3 g to grip and at 10 and 2 to the UT. Really liked the UT. Since I’m getting older may be a viable option.

I currently play with OGSM 16 in mains and Cream 16L (or Big Hitter 16) in the crosses. Tension is 59/56. I break the crosses or mains after 3 hours of hitting and the mains move around too much. I'm hoping the denser string pattern will prevent the strings from moving and have the strings last a bit more. The current setup is quite inexpensive, but I'm stringing way too frequently for my liking and do not want to move back to natural gut just yet.

This seems like the reasonable answer to me. As long as he doesn't require a stiff frame.

Definitely don't want a stiff frame. Enjoy the playability of the RF97A with the exception of going through strings in a couple of hours. Looking for something that plays similarly, preferably from the Wilson family.

UT is more flexible. And you'll need to be patient in modifying the weight/balance/swing weight of it. Then you'll have to repeat it a few more times so all your rackets are identical. Not impossible, but it will take some patience on your end.

93P with some lead plays very close to PS90, but softer feel and a bit bigger spin window

I was hitting with it today and felt very Federesque!

Played with the SixOne95 - then RF97 - then Graphene and Graphene XT Speed Pro (was looking for something lighter then the RF97) and the Speed Pro did the Trick for a few years....so might be a good option. Prince 93P as mentioned by a few, does sound good though.

Ordered a Wilson Ncode 95 18x20. It's a little light, will need to add some weight to get it up to 12.6oz.
Generally the difference is 8 grams - something that can be made up by replacing the synthetic grip with leather. All of my k95 18x20’s with leather were about 3 grams heavier than my RF 97’s, 365 to 362. With leather, all were about the same balance. I’d give a leather grip a shot.

I've been hitting with the Pro Kennex Q-Tour 325 (Seppi racquet) and its pretty dang good. I was surprised at how powerful it was. Its only .3oz heavier than my Prestige MP, but with an overgrip and dampener, its only .2oz heavier than my PMP (PMP 12oz vs QTour 12.2oz). I haven't done a lot of serves with it yet, but its crisp and powerful feeling.

6.1 Classic 18x20 would be closest

P93 is is not as close but just may work for you with some lead.

To me, the closest 18x20 in terms of having the similar power potential & control would be the Pure Strike Tour if you can find one. Also, though it isn’t 18x20, Yonx Tour/Duel G 330 hits similar heavy balls as the RF97.

Played with the PS ncode 95. Took some getting used to, but I'm liking it so far. Power is there but I have noticed a decrease in my topspin a bit from both sides. The frame has a lower flex rating and it is evident when hitting. Serves have been better than with the RF97A. So far the strings have lasted me 4 hours, much better than 1.5 with the RF97A.

I have one in the mail. But enjoying the RF97 at the moment with Gosen Polylon at 25-26 kgs (55-57).
So I got my PS Classic 18x20 25 Anniversary edition. Compared to the RF, it is a bit more plush, and swings a bit heavier. Or you could say the RF swings a bit quicker, and has a more raw, direct feel. So I am sticking to the RF. But will try the Classic with 17 gauge strings instead of 16 to make it swing slightly lighter, and perhaps give a bit more power. I am playin both with two overgrips instead of leather + overgrip. With leather, strings and overgrip the Classic came in at 366 grams (!). I feel it is a bit too much for me. People say that headlight balance makes the racket come around easier, but it can also feel like just more weight in the handle to swing/get moving, is my recent experience...

Anything 11.6 and above will be similar, requiring the same techniques for hitting. The only differences are ball trajectory and feel. The Prince 93P is the gem of the bunch, but just like any other heavy racquet, takes some time to get used to. Its worth it.

+1 vote for Ultra Tour. Bought another one (with silicon in handle, 317gr unstrung) and put 2.5gr each @3,9,12 (7.5 total).
Specs with overgrip and dampener (RS Lyon@20kgr): Weight 353gr , balance 31,5cm, swingweight 340 kg*cm2.
Plays much easier than RF97A too

This is right on. 93p is closer to the PS90. If you want that stiffer feel of the RF, then a little lead 3/9 on a six one, leather grip or shock shield.
