Most fans of a sport come when there is a story which can't be missed. I am picking some times in history to ask ttw in general when did you start watching tennis?

I was watching it when Ivanisevic won Wimbledon as a wild card. Probably that's where it started for me.

( Have tried and picked 1/2 events per decade! )

1994-2000, I only saw him very little, but from 2001 it caught my full attention.
It is one of my three favorite sports.

2021, after I started playing competitively myself. Started playing tennis 2020

I grew up with my family watching tennis in the 90s though. Pete Sampras and Michael Chang were the family’s favorites

Roland Garros 2003 or 2004, at the tennis club when I was a kid. Wasn't supporting anyone, it just felt like all the players were some kind of titanic monster human gods of tennis

introduced to the sport at 8 by my elder cousins during 1993 wimbledon.....followed only wimbledon every year for about 4 years.....slowly started following other events in tennis as well like roland garros starting with 1997 kuerten epic.....been a regular follower of most atp events and all four slams from the beginning of fedal era around 2004.....over the last 6 or 7 years other important things in life have taken over so do not follow non slam events anymore.....soon i may stop following the slams regularly as well.....planning to become a troll at ttw after retirement of rafa.....

In 1988 at that time in my region there was only one tv channel no cable tv. That tv only show wimbledon men & women finals that is no earlier rounds or other GS

Only one newspaper cover tennis news at that time

tennis wish that didnt come true

med losing US Open 2021 final to djok thus resulted in djok CYGS
and winning AO 2022 final defeating nadal thus prevented nadal from winning 21 GS

Great poll options order.

The first match I watched was the FO final 2014 between Djokovic and Nadal, I was at my grandpa's house randomly searching for something to watch on the TV and this caught my attention. I had no clue about the rules so I almost didn't understand anything I was watching

Arthur Ashe. Wimbledon 1975.
I was aware that there was friction. Jimmy Connors was suing Arthur Ashe for something or other and played with the writ folded up in his sock.
Ashe killed him. It was surgical. I remember being amazed by his calm, demeanour as he tore Connors apart.
It was my first truly memorable match and I started to play tennis shortly afterwards.

Legend
My Mother was and still is a big tennis fan so have been watching all my life. The most profound early memory of my own, was watching Becker win Wimbledon in '85. He was only about 7 years older than me at the time.
It's tragic to see the state of him now..
