Where do you buy your tennis gear?

Do you guys all buy racquets from TW.com?? I dont, there is a tennis/golf store around 30 minutes away and its very good. The regular price there for racquets is about 20-25$ cheaper than the TW price, and if you are a member you get another 15-20$ off. So you can buy a new 180$ racquet for around 130-150 depend on your membership and how old that racquet is on the market. I bought a Babolat Pure Storm for 127$ with bags and everything
(brand new). But clothing and shoes are the same price. still a great store.

I have had great luck with Tennis Warehouse, the shipments are on time and the products are what I wanted at a fair price.

barry, isnt that standard? I mean if the shipments are not on time, and you ordered a wilson N6.1 95 and u got a wilson N6.1 90 then they charge you 200$ for it then the company is ####ed up.

I usually get grips and bags from TW unless I can get a discount somewhere else and racquets I just buy them used.

I get all my gear from TW. I like the fact that I can go online, order it up and have it in 2-3 days. Plus, their prices are hard to beat ANYWHERE. If you get a personal discount from someplace that's one thing but I believe that TW will match or beat anyones prices.

donny, I also go to that tennis/golf store in Royal Oak. They have better prices on racquets, although I believe TW has better prices on shirts, shoes, strings etc. Where are you from? I'm about 25 mins from the store in Livonia.

i'll be honest.

I get my strings, grips, clothing, and misc. stuff from Tennis Warehouse.

For racquets, i usuall get them new off of ****. Usually $40-$50 dollars cheaper than retail.

Donny, of course we just keep buying each others racquets. Same Head PCs and RD-7s just change addresses

The pro shops here don't really carry the shoes I like.
I have ordered many shoes from TW. Clothes wise...Nike Store, or any other store (preferably factory outlets, really good finds, or just local stores).
I have ordered 4 Racquets from TW. 1 Surge X...

and 3 New NCode NOne 95's which I ordered today...
strug with Lux BB ALU rough @ 60
with a Super 6 Pack and a Reel of 30 Wilson Pro Overgrips...
Graduation is sweet.

But they have really good customer service...etc.
My mother ordered some Adidas A3's for x-mas...and they were narrow, and the site did not say so. TW paid for the shipping back, and had another person try them on...they were narrow, adidas defect. TW was very easy to deal with.
No complaints here.

I buy my tennis gear from specialty shops (racquets, grips etc) or discount stores (clothing and shoes). I order strings from TW though, it's a lot less expensive.

I get most of my stuff from TW. When it comes to racquets though, I'll usually try the messageboard or ****.

TW probably has the biggest overall selection and their prices are generally pretty good. I buy a lot of stuff from TW however if I can find it somewhere else for the same price or less I will buy it there because I live in CA and I HATE PAYING SALES TAX. If I lived outside of CA I would probably buy everything tennis from TW.

Tennis Warehouse's NIKE price SUX!!! I buy from places that give better discounts.
But I order strings and grips from TW.
TW should really make it easier for frequent customers to be able to order online with a discount instead of having to call and price match. I just order elsewhere for clothing.

same here, overall TW is great except the price. i bought all my shoes and strings from them and if they can match the price with other place, i don`t mind to pay tax

The only way TW is able to get an exclusive to sell Nike stuff online is to agree to only sell it at MSRP (except liquidation or past season stuff). Obviously, Nike is trying to protect their offline stores and distributors by enforcing this (or else, who would buy from a pro shop?). So blame Nike for their policy, not TW.

TW should just link to niketown.com then... the msrp policy does stink.

btw, how much profit does Nike make on a $55 polyester shirt? about $50?

Why would TW want to do that? If they did that, they wouldn't make ANY profit. Remember that TW, like any business, is here to make a profit.

I'd say more like $54. They don't cost a whole lot to make.

thats good to hear, its a great store but i live around 40 minutes from it so its kinda too far but racquets are great there.

I live in Canton which is pretty close to Livonia. I used to live in Livonia though. do you play highschool tennis? You dont play for John Glenn by any chance do u?

Eh...tw overprices racquets. Racquets that are like 180 can be found easily for 140 or less. Everything else Grips, strings, etc buy from tw.

I found my racquet extremly cheap at a store near me using there **** price and then just picking it up :D But I bought my tennis balls from TW. Great shipping.

TW used to have the best prices - not anymore. They also do not provide any incentives for repeat and old customers like myself in the form of coupons or other discounts like many retailers. However, they have the best selection and they have great service. They also host probably the best tennis board in the world so if I am buying something new I always give TW the opportunity to match competing prices.

TW is my favorite place to purchase, BUT...

I usually do look on **** first for racquets, and I will purchase from a competitor if TW doesn't carry a particular style or color of something; specifically clothes & shoes...
