Which one is the year Nadal gets 21GS?

I don't think he will. Nole is back, and the younger generation is getting stronger. If Thiem stays focused and with a little more belief, he's going to start becoming a factor. And Delpo isn't done yet either, so he's still got plenty to stop him

Rafa will win FO 2019 and 2020 for sure. That's already 19 so I will say 2019 best case scenario and 2020 worst case scenario.

Depends on Djokovic! Djoko could deny Rafa again here! 2 chances this year for Rafa to get 18 or 19, and Djoko might deny him.

Djoko is back and will only get stronger going into 2019. Rafa will be right there too, they are both the best 2 in the world currently.

You have right, Djokovic is the only hope for Fedr now.

2021.

2018 USO
2019 RG
2020 RG
2021 RG

I think there’s a lot riding on this USO. Could make all the difference..

On the basis that he remains healthy and fit, I would say he definitely wins the next two French Opens. So if he wins on Sunday I would say 2020. Four French Opens to take him to 2022 which would make him 36 yrs old which is a bit of a stretch given his playng style.

If he does it I would say by 2021,

If it happened I would say 2020 some time mid year. That’s if he gets it. 4 more slams is a lot but as we learnt we can never write Nadal off.

I wouldn’t say it’s a lock. Djokovic is in form. Thiem could get better he has reached at least the RG SF in the last 3 years.

I'm guessing 2RG, 1USO and 1Wim until the end of 2020. Could be more.

I see Thiem winning one of the next two French Opens. Nadal has a 40 percent chance of winning this current USO if you’re optimistic, 25 percent if you’re really, really pessimistic, reckon he’’ll have a 20 percent chance or so of winning the Australian and probably similar for Wimbledon and USO next year...so he should probably get one of them, probably RG next year...if he stays playing at his current level, I’d say 2020 or 2021 but to assume that he’s going to play at this level without any hiccups for the next 3 years is wishful thinking at best...

If he’s going to get to 21 majors I’d expect it to be from having an absolutely phenomenal 2019 where he starts serving really well again and wins all the close matches he plays. It would probably help him a little if Djokovic started having bread cravings and decided gluten>tennis too. But hey, Djokovic might have just won his last ever slam at Wimbledon and Nadal might win a CYGS next sport is crazy sometimes.

I don't think even non-100% Nadal would lose to Thiem at RG. I still consider Djokovic a greater threat to Nadal on clay.

Thiem is improving a lot, and I actually think Nadal and Thiem are closer on clay than they are on hardcourt. Thiem’s match this week really, really impressed me.

To give Nadal a big chance of winning another French is about the same as winning 2 lottery draws in a row. No AO or SW19 for him either, and certainly not this USO.

He won't win more than 18 all up.

I think penciling in a Wimbledon is ambitious. Not saying it can't happen but my guess is two to three more French opens and probably one more non rg slam. 2 if he finds a way to win this years USO.

Just to let you know all that I’m a time traveler. I’m happy to say that Nadal will have 25 grand slam titles before retirement. He will have 15 French Open titles.

What about Novak? :)

This is ridiculous, with the amount of moral slams Nadal has won, starting off with AO 2014, he has already broken the record.

You're not much of a tennis historian if you think that AO 2014 was Nadal's first moral Slam. Nadal's first moral Slam was Roland Garros 1877. For many years, historians had thought that Wimbledon 1877, as the first Slam ever played, was Nadal's first moral Slam. But then some of his fans (edited for V B) pointed out that Nadal was robbed at Roland Garros that year, as he would clearly have won were it played. Nadal always wins the title unless he's injured or the event isn't played. So, Nadal's first moral Slam was bumped forward to Roland Garros 1877.

Nadal may not need to win 21 slams. If Federer fails to win another then 20 slams will mean a decider by head to head, which will make Nadal the greatest player of the 21st century.

This is highly disputable due to Fed's No1 weeks, Rafa's wtf record and there's also slam distribution issue...

With a sustained injury and age, a healthy Djokovic or Thiem may keep him from winning the French at some point ( 2019? ) . Federer has succumbed to it ..
